Hidden gem. Beautiful old pub, rooms are all based upstairs (stairs only). Bedrooms clean crisp and lovely decor. Private bathroom was separate from bedroom but it is fine (hop, skip and a jump). Bathroom clean and shower pressure great. Went for a couple drinks at the pub below and the bar team were attentive and friendly. We had booked dinner for 4 adults and so glad we did. Royal Kew restaurant is 11/10. Props to the kitchen staff and crew, service and the food 10/10! 🤤 Ordered fish n chips, Lamb shank, curry of the day was amazing, portions large so maybe rethink ordering starters like we did... but the pork strips and chicken wings delicious 🤤 . I could not fault the royal kew...This was a family road trip from GC to SYD (halfway), passing through. Small town has a big attraction. (Axe). The locals are super friendly true Australian hospitality at its best.

Freshly renovated, nice bed and pillows, fairly quiet.. as mentioned below, staff were helpful and found a verandah room for us. The communal area was great with a coffee pod machine and a decent iron but fold out ironing board.. Pub downstairs was nice with great food!!

Not all rooms have windows, so the inside rooms are a bit stuffy with no airflow. There is air-conditioning, but during our stay, we couldn't put it on cool, as it was centrally controlled, and you could only have it on heat or air... but with no windows, the flow was hot! Staff were awesome and found us another room on the verandah. However, you can't leave doors open as anyone then has access to your room, no security latch to keep the door open or security fly screen. Private bathrooms are separated from the rooms, meaning you have to walk down the hall.. communal kitchenette, fridge, no cooking or heating facilities... (no microwave)

Loved our overnight stay at Royal Hotel Kew! We chose this spot to stop between Brisbane and Sydney - cute little town that's not far from the highway, and perfect for a stopover. Lovely staff at check in and behind the bar. Gorgeous room - freshly renovated, excellent bathroom, quiet, air conditioned. Highly recommended!

Our only disappointment was we missed dinner at the pub - kitchen closes at 8pm and we arrived at 9pm!

The rooms have recently been refurbished to the highest standard. Lovely colour palette and soft furnishings. Bathrooms were exceptional, clean and modern. Only 2 rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The other rooms have private bathrooms but they are separate to the bedrooms. Our ensuite bedroom (room 5) had no windows which we loved as it kept the room really dark, but may not be to everyone's taste. Modern LG TV. Super comfy beds. Food in the pub was really good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Great location just off the M1.

Small downside - No fridges in the bedrooms (not really enough room for them though) so we had to throw a lot of food out as we had no means of keeping it chilled overnight during our Brisbane to Sydney trip. Felt the room was expensive for a pub bedroom, even though it was exceptional. Paid same price for a one bed apartment with full kitchen in Chatswood hotel (Meriton).

Wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff. Lovely meal with genuine country hotel vibe. Beautiful room recently renovated, very tasteful

Parking at back of hotel so a little concern for a couple of oldies getting luggage upstairs but would stay again and pack an overnight bag.

Beautifully renovated hotel. Bathrooms were spacious and well appointed.

Coffee making facilities and fridge were outside of the room. Yes, we had a private ensuite but it was down the hall. Had to leave the room for toilet and shower.

We enjoyed the stylish furnishings in the room and the melding of old and new traditions to provide private bathrooms in the area which would have been used for shared facilities. The sympathetic renovation of the hotel provides modern stylish comfort while respecting the traditional design of the pub.

Nothing. A little sad that the café next door no longer serves breakfast but the Corner store opposite was fine.

The room was clean and attractive and after a longish drive the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our pub dinner, so all in all a very convenient overnight stay

The breakfast over at Kew General store was adequate

Overall very impressed with our stay. Property was very clean and well designed, plenty of amenities, tea and coffee. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel location is close to the highway, we took a pit stop here for the night. Would also recommend the pub, great food.

Keep in mind the property is situated above a pub so early and light sleepers may be disturbed on weekends.

only downside was a group of guests sitting outside my room on the balconey talking loud etc for around 2 hours but not much you can do really.
