Very very good ! Spotless clean room, large comfortable bed all we needed after a long day on the road ! Has a restaurant and a bar serving variety of drinks, breakfast and classic english cuisine which was very convenient as it felt like hotel was totally off grid.It is dead quiet at night we felt like we were single guests in there. Very friendly and attentive team members, from very welcoming reception team to extremely helpful bar/kitchen staff. We are both vegans and Kitchen staff made sure to check all the ingredients to cater for us. Just perfect!

Location as expected. Breakfast only good if you enjoy cooked, I usually eat yogurt, fruit and meats and cheese if offered. First morning my breakfast was a small pot of yogurt, a banana and gluten free bread toasted, the bread was not one of the nicer gluten free products! Second morning a small pot of yogurt and grapes and my own gf fruit loaf. Third morning- no yogurt, delivery hadn’t arrived so my braggart was a bit sparse but I went out and bought my own natural yogurt in case! Good job I did as the rest of our stay I used it with my own fruit loaf and their grapes

Breakfast

Location was excellent. Easy access to Oakham, Stamford and Rutland Water. Room was clean and a great size, with a fantastic view over the lake. Reception staff very helpful. Bar was well stocked and staff were superb, professional and friendly. Food quality was good and well priced.

Choice of food on bar menu was relatively limited, and no change in menu from daytime to evening meals.

Easy to find, a quiet location, friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room (210) with view of links and water hazard, very pleasant to wake up to. Room had everything needed; tea and coffee, hairdryer, fan, hanging and work spaces. Beds were comfortable, neither soft nor overly firm, a happy midway point. Breakfast cooked a la carte (low guest numbers, so no buffet), but cooked perfectly, quality ingredients, and generous portions.

Breakfast room was... loud... with golf bores all talking over each other - not the hotel's fault, just typical thoughtless behaviour. Bathroom was fine, but shower over bath, and the bath's walls were sloping in. Not slippery, just awkward.

I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised for a 3 star, hundred percent got the star rating wrong…. The lady on reception, I just thought it was so lovely and so accommodating…. I stay in hotels all over the world, UK has the worst customer service…. Gotta say five star service to the woman at the reception and five star service to the young man in the bar… Keep up the good work

Nothing stop on

Well located for the A1. Lovely comfortable room. Friendly staff both at reception and in the bar. Arrived at 5.30pm and managed to book on to the Lakes course at 6.30pm via the website. Quick bite to eat and then flew round as a 1 ball in under 3 hours. Course was interesting and in great condition. Absolutely perfect set-up for a summer work night away when travelling down the A1.

We arrived early and were exhausted with the travel and the heat, the young man on reception allowed us to have the room almost 3 hours before we should have checked in and we were so relieved .The room was spacious and very clean and we had a great view over the lake and golf course.Bar with terrace to sit and relax with food if needed.

Nothing to complain about.

We were looking for a getaway for Easter weekend, and this offered just what we were looking for. The place is serene, surrounded by the lush green, and hills are a breath of fresh air. A good way to unwind from the buzz of the city.

The breakfast was the standard English breakfast. Could do with abit more variety like vegetable selection - varied egg selection- boiled, scramble, etc

Gentlemen on reception was very pleasant- we arrived late (around midnight) and checked us in very quickly. Lady overseeing breakfast also pleasant.

The pull out beds for the children weren’t great, quite uncomfortable- but did the job after a long day travelling. Ours are under 10 years, older children might struggle as they were quite small.

Lovely place to spend a few days. Did not golf but the facilities and course looked great 2 courses, plus practice facilities. Staff friendly and nice clubhouse.

Non hot cooked choices could have been a bit more for breakfast with healthier options. but guess catering for the golfers that would want a fry up before their round.
