The room was beautiful and spacious and had a terrace with a lovely view of the Victorian-style Top Gun house, the Oceanside pier, palm trees and the ocean. We ate in the bar of the Michelin-starred Valle restaurant, and had drinks in the evening on the rooftop. We had breakfast at the Hi/Lo and also used room service. All the food was good, and we have reservations to come back for the tasting menu dinner at Valle. My husband figured out how to get my phone to feed shows to the big TV using wifi--so we were able to watch our favorite team as if we were at home.

I upgraded for a room with a desk. The desk is tiny and not useable and while the room had an excellent view, the room we gave up had a better view. And that cost us $100 a day extra. I worked at the coffee table, which was fine. Don't upgrade to get a desk! Also, the shower had very low water pressure. After checking in we read in the paperwork that you are not allowed to bring in any food or drink. This place is expensive yet they want to nickel and dime you like that. However, the staff saw our provisions and they didn't mind. The staff is all extremely nice and helpful. The hotel does not have an ATM and the shop only has souvenirs, no practical items. If you want to eat the dinner menu at Valle be sure to make reservations in advance.

Cleanliness of hotel and rooms Location Felt resort quality, good lobby and lounging space

Generally the staff was rude, standoffish and pompous. Valet service was good, but technology was spotty. Valet attedeees should give a bit more time to arriving guests. Should not be asked every time i call fpr car if im “checking out today?”, that should be part of my valet profile Horrible, no breakfast was offerred by hotel. Complementary muffins, danish, toast would not kill margins, nor would coffee carafe. Gusts should not have to go to sister proprty to get a morning coffee. Add some live music Add a gift store

Great location right opposite the pier. Lively vibrant atmosphere and great facilities. Friendly helpful staff.

Not made obvious that no free parking. $47/ night to valet park. We arrived on a Sunday and no public parking spaces available. Hotel quite expensive and although room is as lovely inside. Noise from street to the side wasn’t great. More details on what room you’ve paid for maybe useful.

My husband and I were both amazed by this hotel. We watched it being built while we lived in CA and couldn’t wait to stay here. The area is our old stomping grounds, so we’re familiar with the area and love to visit. The decor is breathtaking. It’s clean and well maintained, inside and out. Our room was comfortable and well stocked. We liked the layout. It was spacious for a queen room with 2 queen beds. The staff were over the top helpful and available whenever we needed something. We appreciated the valet parking and are glad we didn’t have to park outside overnight. Beach access and Location is perfect! Being able to walk to the beach and pier was amazing! Being right near the Top Gun house is so cool!! Also, having restrooms, beach showers and a playground across the street was so convenient while traveling with a child. Having the rambler available for guests is next level. Now we know we don’t have to travel from out of state with extra things, like beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards or towels. Our favorite restaurants are within walking distance. The roof top pool took the cake. The views were stunning. We didn’t experience the bar this time, but I can’t wait to utilize this and other amenities next time! I’m amazed by everything with this hotel. We cannot wait to stay again next year! It’s our new annual staycation.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about this hotel. I would maybe suggest having a swifter or small broom available, since the floors are laminate, dirt tracks in fairly easily and it doesn’t feel comfortable walking barefoot on. But the white shower shoes we’re nice to have available to walk on the floor. Also, we didn’t utilize the downstairs cafe/bar this time, but would love to know for future if discounts are offered for guests, military or law enforcement?

property is located right in front of the beach with a bunch of nice restaurants all around. the bed is comfortable and the rooms are spacious. valle restaurant was beyond incredible. staff was great.

to get to the other side of the hotel you have to go through outside doors then back in. more elevators for each side column would be nice. the restaurant downstairs high lo didnt meet breakfast food expectations. we arrived at 3:57 pm and one of our rooms still wasn’t ready. parking overnight is very expensive

I loved my view. I liked hearing the waves from my room.

I wish there had been more options on the menus of the restaurants. It would have been nice to have one or two options that were less fancy like a cobb salad or a blt sandwich. I would have liked the meals to be less expensive.

I loved how the property was also so clean , the room service was amazing !!

what I didn’t like about the property was the area! it was my first time at Oceanside wanted something a bit more relaxing there is a lot of construction going on on the beach the construction itself made the beach not beautiful so my husband and I ended up traveling up to La Jolla about 32 minutes to really get that beach vacation vibe

Always feel welcome and love staying there.

The clear glass shower. Beautiful but when staying with friends (not romantic stays) it takes away from the area to get ready, wash hands, brush teeth, etc. Wish the glass was frosted or the shower was covered.

The location is perfect. Lovely views of the Oceanside Pier, the beach and the ocean. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance, other than the ones in the hotel.

Our room was quite small for what we paid. We had one small built in loveseat for two, and there was no desk to use as a work station.

This property was located in a convenient location. The restaurant located in the Resort and the rooftop bar both served delicious cuisine and had a variety of options to choose from. The room was clean, comfortable and felt like an upscale home rather than a hotel. The staff was accommodating and helpful.
