The entire place was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as expected. It had a classic charm with modern comforts, making our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. The highlight for us was the breakfast, which was wonderfully prepared with a good variety of options. Everything was fresh and delicious, and a great way to start our Bristol trip.

Unfortunately, our first impression of the hotel was not the warmest. The reception staff did not appear welcoming—there were no smiles, and they seemed tired and unapproachable. This made check-in feel a bit cold and impersonal, which was disappointing given the hotel's reputation. A friendly and attentive front desk can set the tone for a guest’s stay, and we felt that was lacking here. We hope the hotel can improve on this aspect, as everything else has the potential to offer a much better overall experience.

The hotel was lovely and clean, warm and comfortable. The Staff were very friendly and polite. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious.

The restaurant was not open on the Sunday night, apparently not enough bookings.We paid to use all the facilities so I think we should have access to all areas of the hotel. The rooms could have been brightened up with some kind of floral display and maybe a fruit bowl and glossy magazine. Not a lot of atmosphere in the hotel , partly due to the large number of business people staying at the hotel it was more geared to making their stay more important . families and couples visiting the hotel for leisure purposes took back seat when it came down to it.

Everything! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful from check-in to check out. Our room was beautifully spacious. There was a seating area, coffee machine, and biscuits that were restocked, we had a fridge in the room, which was excellent. One thing that was a real pro was the availability of milk and water via machines on each floor, I've never had this before in a hotel and well we always need water and would use the majority of the milk products left in a room to make one cup of tea. The spa facilities were wonderful, I would recommend adding to your booking. It was pure zen in the spa area. We ventured into The Black Sheep on the Saturday and had brunch. Again, a super friendly man served us, and we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. We ate in the Curious Kitchen and the food was delicious, our waitress Hannah was amazing, she really looked after us. The bar staff continued to add to our stay following dinner and served beautiful expresso martinis. I had an unfortunate accident of spilling a cup of coffee on the bed, the cleaner who came to make up the room was so lovely, and our room was spotless. We were celebrating a birthday during our stay and when my partner entered the room there was a card and chocolates which was a lovely gesture. The only downfall I have is not having all staff members' names to thank them individually. We had such an amazing time that we booked an extra night and enjoyed room service. Thank you, Aztec. we look forward to returning in the near future.

I can't fault anything with regards to our stay.

The facilities were beautiful including the dining area and lay out.

After leaving the hotel my son realised that he had left a large bottle of Rituals aftershave almost full in the room worth approx £50. He called the hotel as soon as we arrived home. Everything was searched and it wasn’t in the bags. A staff member said they would look. No one did. On a follow up call a staff member did look in the room but nothing was found but it had definitely been left there. We weren’t told about the milk machines when booking in, it was only as we were leaving we realised that we could get milk for drinks?

We regularly stay at the Aztec, due to it's location it is convenient for us and preferential to other hotels in the area. I must take the time on this occasion to commend the outstanding service provided by the Guest Services Manager, Luis Castillo. From the moment I arrived, his professionalism and dedication to ensuring a seamless experience were evident. Mr Castillo is incredibly polite, always greeting guests with a warm smile and a genuine willingness to assist. His thorough approach to addressing any concerns or requests makes me feel valued and well taken care of, both during my stays and during communications afterwards. His commitment to excellence and his ability to make every guest feel special truly set Aztec apart. I recommend this hotel, not only for its amenities and location but also for the exceptional service from the staff.

Good location for Bristol, Portishead, M5, M4, and all local attractions. Lobby, bar and restaurant were clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast and lunch were delicious. Spa was lovely and had a great hot rocks massage with Sophia. Staff were welcoming and very friendly and helpful. Especially Ellie and front desk staff.

The first room (161) we were allocated to was so, so noisy as it faced right on the roundabout. There was no way we would get any sleep there so reception managed to move us to a different room (301) they apologised as it was a downgrade but the hotel was very full. The second room was pleasant and much quieter. It was clean, great shower and bed was very comfortable. The pool was not warm enough. It is part of the spa and a cold pool is not relaxing. Could do with more seating round the pool.

Glorious breakfast - Eggs benedict beautifully cooked. Friendly, helpful and wonderful staff. Sensational shower in the room, along with fresh fruit (pink lady apples) and rather lovely soaps to use. Good WiFi connectivity (not that I used it much, as I was dog tired when I got there at 9PM) and a helpful seating area/lounge in my room.

My stay was impromptu, due to sudden (personal) illness meaning I could not travel home by car from work, and so I didn't have a toothbrush. Unfortunately there were none in the hotel for me to have. Likewise, I was unable to get through to room service so I ended up going to bed without a meal that night. Finally, and this may have been due to my 'fever dreams' it sounded quite loud whenever anyone walked along the corridor outside my room.

The location was very convenient for where we were heading for the weekend. The beds are so comfortable, I love that you can collect your own French milk and cold water from machines in the hall way, the hot drink choices in the bedroom are lovely.

Like many other people have said, the fact you have to pay as extra £15 per person on top for the use of the pool is very frustrating - we booked through booking.com so you aren’t told until you’ve booked that this is the case. Seems pretty steep as well especially because we booked this hotel specifically because it has a pool and spa thinking that the price we paid was including the use of the pool like most hotels. Also not their fault but the an alarm kept going off around 8.30am a couple times around the hotel which wasn’t great when you want a lie in :(

Very friendly and efficient staff, large and comfy room, fantastic gym, great breakfast, loved the choice of hot drinks and cookies in the room

But if mould in the bag tub, fixed shower head. We had steak for dinner but it was not great. It was served on a hot sizzling stone, we ordered medium but being on there was hard to control the cooking point. We had to ask for plates to remove it from the stone. The taste wasn’t great either it felt like a precooked steak warmed up on the stone. Staff was very nice and helpful though. I also didn’t use the pool/ jacuzzi area as it was too packed all the time

Our room was very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were well appointed. The garden and lake were also very attractive. Breakfast was very good but the bar food was average.

We had a lakeside terrace room but the experience was marred by the fact that we had to go up one floor in the lift, along a lot of corridors and down 2 flights of stairs to get there. We asked to cut through the Spa, which led directly to our room. This was discouraged but shouldn't be. We will be taking this up directly with the hotel.
