We have arrived after long flight and we had everything what we needed: good bed + shower. Check in was easy (despite it was 1am). Next day breakfast was with a good choice (typical costarican food + fruits) and very good coffee. Staff was helpful with checking bus schedule. Altough we have left only after 7 hours if stay it was very satifisfying for what we needed. Beautiful colonial style architecture.

The rooms could be a bit oudated - for the price i have not expected a 5 star hotel but they could be a bit refreshed. Its in town center therfore could be a bit noisy,

The staff were excellent, they helped me with everything I needed. The lady on reception was particularly helpful when it came to booking tours. The breakfast was based on Costa Rican cuisine Rice&beans fresh fruit and fried&scrambled eggs. Toast tea&coffee and some cereal for the kids. I ate there in the evening there was a good selection to choose from and again the service was great. Location was a 9/10.

No double glazing ment you could hear traffic from 6am onwards in the week. It was not deafening and I could snooze through it. Oh and plug sockets were behind the beds not ideal.

Nice colonial building. Modern clean bathroom. Good breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs. I really liked that they had boiled eggs as well as scrambled eggs. Only $7 /night to park at a nearby parking. Staff were very helpful. Location was very close to attractions like national theatre, China town, National museum etc.

Nothing is the hotel’s fault but there’s a catholic church nearby and the bell went off at 5:55am. And a again about an hour later. If you want to sleep in, you can’t. I like the church bell so I didn’t mind too much though. Another thing that crept me out was that there was a fine wavy black hair above the ac controller , fixed on the wall with what looks like a black gooey material. I was not sure if the gooey thing was a snot so I was too scared to touch it, so I left it where it was. i am guessing that someone who stayed there before me put it there for I don’t know what reason….

The location was good. Most things are walking distance. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and I liked the soaps they gave us. The main entrance door locks and the front desk unlocks it for you so it gives you a sense of safety. Also, I liked that the restaurant on-site was open until 9:30 PM I believe. They had a wide range of food options and the food was good.

The pool area definitely was smaller in real life than the photos. The wifi was not the best, occasionally would lag but it was still working overall.

Great little hotel, right in the centre of San Jose. We were travelling home the following day with a night flight. We chose this hotel so we could wander around San Jose before we left for the airport. We walked to the Costa Rica museum (has a fabulous butterfly garden within). The hotel stored our luggage and booked a pick-up to take us to the airport. It was such a good price to stay here, and breakfast was included. My only slight criticism was the traffic noise. I would recommend staying here, though. It even has a little swimming pool.

Location very good, very close to tourist attractions in city center. Room was big, relatively quiet (you could hear traffic, but that is pretty normal in city center). Staff spoke good English. Breakfast was good, a lot of fresh fruit.

Bed was not too comfortable (could feel the springs), and with some minor changes room could be much nicer: I missed real curtains (there were only sheer curtains), some decoration on the walls (painting, picture), shelf in the shower for shampoo or soap. I would also recommend to have more attention for saving energy: option not to change towels when you don't want to, don't turn the fan on (staff did that repeatedly, even when no one was in the room, and it wasn't even warm).

Clean, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, cute balcony with an urban view. Total 'downtown San Jose' walkability. Great breakfast, nice courtyard.

Generally, the hotel looked much bigger in the pictures. Its a rather narrow hotel space. The pool feels like more of a visual feature than usable as it sits right on the edge of the cafe with no real divider and no 'pool' area other than 3 rather shabby looking loungers over on the other end where there are some hotel infrastructure pipes that kinda smell. It was not inviting to walk from the room, past the front desk and jump in the pool beside the diners! ...But its pretty to have the water and plants there when breakfasting.

The hotel was centrally located, but far enough to avoid street noise, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room, bed facilities were comfortable

The room insulation itself was poor so I was woken by loud people outside my room at an early hour. Could be rectified by the receptionist making people aware on checkin to be quiet at certain times. Would have nice to have drink making facilities and shower products (in addition to shampoo) in the room

Location, location, location! Staff was very efficient and kind in answering all my questions. Specially Ms. Jacqueline. I stayed in room #36 which has a big window that helped to keep the room fresh (rooms have no AC 😞) Very good internet connection, useful if you have to work. Cleaning staff is respectful. Property is safe if you're a woman solo traveller. Airport shuttle service was excellent.

No air conditioner in the room, had to keep the window open. Hotel has no nice view to the street as the roof top of the restaurant blocks it. Breakfast needs serious improvement. Fruit was delicious thou. Management has to invest in new linen. Sheets and duvet are too old. No safety box in the room, only in the management office and boxes are small to only keep passport and jewelry. Cable tv is bad, however, if you bring your laptop or tablet internet speed allows you to watch streaming. Would be good if you could connect to the tv. Tge pool looks dirty and is not inviting and the chairs in the area are old, some are broken 😞
