During my entire trip, so far, it was at the taxi customer service section, to the left of the hotel lobby, that I encountered a mediocre staff member. Around 8 PM, we asked if he could help us find a taxi and make a reservation at a restaurant, and based on his gestures and facial expression, he was extremely mediocre. He told us to use the Uber app, and his attitude was quite poor. The day before, he reluctantly arranged a hotel taxi for us — I don't know if he was expecting a tip or not... All the other staff members were extremely friendly. He wears glasses and is young, I don't know his name. This happened on 22-04-2025. Buffet spicy and poor

From the moment the door staff opened my cab door and helped with my luggage- to the moment I checked out - all the staff were efficient and polite. Went out of the way to make me feel welcome!! They have 5 star facilities in the beautiful infinity pool and well equipped gym. Their lobby is a sight to behold - beautifully fitted with a piano played by a skilled pianist to keep the guests entertained. That is very rare in any hotelin Sri Lanka. I was very sad to leave Marino beach hotel a d hope I'll be back very soon. I'd like to thank its management and staff fir their excellent hospitality experience. ❤️

There was nothing in Marino beach hotel I didn't like.

Everything. The most amazing hotel I ever stayed. - Customer Service was amazing. The staff were great. They always went above and beyond - Breathtaking ocean view from the hotel. When you eat you eat you can see the trains passing by. I loved it - Breakfast was amazing. Too many options. Great food - They let me check in very early at 7am.. - The hotel was beautiful inside - The had a free city tour, it was 3 hours long - free water and soft drinks inside the room - The rooms were beautiful inside. Amazing shower and bathtub. They were quiet too

The staff were amazing.It had everything that you would need for a beautiful stay.

I would have rated this stay excellent but I cannot for the following reason. We were staying for two nights.At 7-0pm on the first night the lights fused in the room.We reported it immediately.No one came until the following morning after we had reported it again.I had no TV,hairdryer,no tea to drink as we couldn’t boil the kettle.We could not charge our phones.It was my birthday.None of the Staff apologized for our inconvenience.

We (2 adults and 2 young kids) have stayed around 90 nights at Marino Beach over the past 3 years. It’s one of the best hotels we have ever been to. There is so much to like about the hotel. Here are some highlights: 1. Large spacious room that is very clean and well maintained. We like the complimentary drinks and snacks - a nice touch. 2. Amazing infiniti pool. Well equipped gym that is spacious and very clean. 3. A breakfast buffet to die for. I love that some items are made to order and brought to your table. The wide variety of tropical fruit is a welcome change compared to many other similar hotels in Sri Lanka. 4. Amazing customer service. The best I have encountered in Sei Lanka. They go out of the way to keep customers happy. For example, at breakfast when they don’t have mango, they are kind in bringing my daughter sliced mangoes. They always accommodate my late check out requests - this visit we checked out at 5 pm and they were super kind in allowing us to check out late without any additional charge. 5. Finally, we love the attached mall. Great for shopping and dining at the mall food court.

I’m not sure there is anything we dislike about Marino Beach.

From the moment we arrived we felt like the most special people in the world. We had 3 rooms booked and were upgraded on arrival free of charge to allow us to all be on the same floor. The staff are a credit to their employer and could not have done more to look after us. The food & entertainment were excellent and the leisure facilities second to none. Prices in the hotel restaurant & bar were no different than anywhere else in the city. I would love to come back someday & look forward to doing so. Thank you to everyone at Marino Beach for making my family’s stay in Colombo so memorable.

The hotel is new and beautiful, the breakfast was excellent, with tens of different options. The pool it was like out of this worlds, especially the sunsets in the pool. When it comes to the room, it was spacious, clean and cosy. I may say the hotel has one of the best cleaning services i have experienced, i met their staff Achintha Kumara few times how he was cleaning the room, he was doing a detailed clean up. I also should add that the staff was gorgeous, my partner had an ear infection, and the hotel on their expenses took us to hospital, arranged the check, waited us for the treatment and brought us back to the hotel. Definitely, one of best services i have received in an hotel.

One of the best hotels in my life. It rivals the 5+ star hotels in Europe. A huge swimming pool with a special stretched water surface. Over 60 meters long. Wonderful top roof garden where you can retreat to contemplate. The praise simply cannot be overstated. You must try it. Nowhere have I come across a minibar that is free and refilled by the management every day. Very large rooms with double - glass surfaced - bathroom. Every room are with panoramic sea view. The hotel has its own shopping centre (mall) with restaurants and shops where prices are very reasonable. In addition, the shops automatically offer a 10% discount for hotel guests. Professional staff. Everyone knows and does their brief. Complementary 3,5 hours city tour and private beach with hourly delivery

We stayed a week at Marino Beach and really enjoyed our time there. Unless you book one of their signature rooms, the 'ocean view' or 'partial ocean view' is exactly that... Very partial. The rooms are excellent, big, clean and well-maintained. The bed is è tremely comfortable and there is tea/ coffee making facilities and a free mini bar with soft drinks, juice, water and tea biscuits and nuts, which are replenished daily. The breakfast has a great variety with the option of eating inside or out in the balcony overlooking the sea and the railway. The Chinese restaurant, Ocean view restaurant and the main dining hall all provide lovely food at very reasonable prices. The rooftop pool and garden, with bar and jacuzzi are wonderful for relaxing, sunbathing and taking in the magnificent view of the Indian Ocean. We went once to the Beach Club, which was lovely but sunbeds were back from the beach and we were not allowed to move them. The free shuttle was a bonus. Do take the complimentary city tour as the guide and tour were superb and really informative. Would definitely stay again.

If I had to not-pick anything, it would be lack of slightly more comfortable chairs on the balcony and definitely a small table should be there. No balcony table at all! It would also be helpful if there were a handrail to get into the pool, especially for those with slightly more limited mobility.
