We loved our stay in Sofia, the staff is helpful and friendly, the buffet breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfortable and the shower modern and the view in our room stunning. The air conditioner worked perfectly. The swimming pool is so nice,, I can really promote this hotel. We loved it here.

We were not allowed to charge any extras to our room. This policy left a bitter taste. We toured the whole of Sri Lanka for a month and paid everywhere only with our checkout for our stay and extras. I am not sure if Sofia had bad experiences with tourists leaving without payment. I witnessed also an incident where a customer was very unhappy with this policy and said that he will never come to this hotel again. I suggested that this policy should be reviewed.

All was absolutely amazing. The hotel offer a super confortable situation, room immaculate.all is cleane . Amenities you need are there. Service is great. The terrace has an amazing view. The swimming pool is a plus not to miss and the water is clean. I cannot ask for nothing more. A special note and Thanks from heart, that made the real difference for me was the presence of Miss DINITHI. She is super professional, smiling , ready to help, prepsred, with a very good english. Make my check in smooth and plaisent. Make my stay the perfect one. She is the perfect person to manage with guests. All my thanks and congratulation. Nothing i can add to all the perfection.

I liked everything about this place. The room was modern and comfortable. Breakfast was very varied. The service was top class and the views from the roof terrace made for a great way to ring in the new year.

As other customers have said, their policy means that every room has to be inspected at check out. This can delay the check out process. I was aware of this and I allowed enough time. For me, it took around 20 minutes. Best to know this if you have a flight to catch. The only thing that I could have wished for is a bar by the rooftop pool!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Colombo, thanks to Jimi, who went above and beyond to make my visit special. His kindness and care made all the difference, ensuring I had everything I needed. I was so impressed by his service that I booked the same hotel again for my last night in Colombo. The hotel itself is great, but it’s the exceptional staff like Jimi who make it truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Sofia hotel really amazing with service and customer care also they have gym & outdoor swimming pool with amazing view when sun set happen.

Clean and comfortable rooms, good view

Dining room staff need training in attending to customer needs. The hotel booked an event during my stay and closed the dining room. They expected existing guests to move to a makeshift dining room or use in room dining. Needed to manage existing guests’ needs better.

We booked the hotel to spend our last night in Colombo before catching our flight back home. It was a perfect stay before a long flight, very comfortable, super friendly staff and good food. The young lady who served our breakfast, Afraiz and Raj took really good care of us. Everything in the room was brand new and the shower exceptionally modern, warm and clean. The view towards the sea is beautiful and it’s easy to watch the sunset.

The staff is very friendly but the amount of people taking care of you can sometimes feels a bit overwhelming.

Ideally placed to get around and made an Ideal hotel to finish off our holidays. Roof top pool was lovely.

I loved my stay at Sofia so much I stayed twice during my time in Sri Lanka. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiling faces from the bell hop to the receptionists. Dinithi was so sweet, helpful and kind. Anytime she saw me she would greet me and ask if I needed anything. Sadhees was always there to assist me as I left or returned the hotel. Shehan went above and beyond to help me with my laundry during my stay. He made sure everything was perfect and even helped to fix some things for me. Rashmi delivered room service with care, a smile, and never forgot anything. The room was fantastic!! I had a view of the city and the sea. It had great soundproofing! The bed and pillows were very comfortable!! Sheets were fresh, clean, and soft. (I hate when they are overused and washed and begin to get rough, so these were nice). The shower was fantastic!!! You could have a normal shower or a rain shower or both at the same time!! Good pressure and temperatures lasted the entire shower time. Breakfast and deserts were good. The dining room was nice and staff were great there too. The pool and view from the roof top was amazing!!

The only negative thing I have to see was some of the food was not great. The chicken burger was very dissapointing, salad dressing was mostly watered down with little falvor, and the wrap came with basically no meat. The wrap was very dissapointing. Through out my stays there many items were not available[Nachos, Pasta, etc]. This was frustrating as they were on the menu from the QR code and advertised on the TV menu. If they stepped up their room service and buffet quality then they would be absolutely perfect. All this being said most of the food was average not great and not bad.

Nice rooms, fabulous swimming pool.
