Quiet and comfortable with good location. The view was exceptional

We stayed 2 nights, the dessert at the buffet on night 2 was terrible. I advised staff but no one checked, then I advised staff at checkout who said, I'm sorry. No putting it right, no refund, no discount fir next visit.

Some of the non smoking rooms smell like smoke, but they quickly moved me to another room once I spoke to the receptionist

Our stay at this modern hotel in Colombo was absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city and close to all major attractions, making it easy to explore everything Colombo has to offer. We stayed in a room on the 22nd floor, and the view was stunning. The room itself was spacious, beautifully designed, and had all the modern amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight of the hotel was the rooftop pool, bar and gym on the 26th floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Colombo skyline. Whether during the day or at sunset, the view was simply mesmerizing. Next to the pool, there’s a well-equipped gym, making it convenient to work out while enjoying the view. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The buffet had a fantastic selection of both Sri Lankan specialties and Western-style dishes, catering to every taste. The fresh tropical fruits were particularly amazing, and everything was well-prepared and delicious. The hotel proces also buffet lunc and dinner. The staff at the reception was incredibly helpful and welcoming, always ready to assist with any request. It was also very easy to get around the city using tuk-tuks or the PickMe app, making transportation hassle-free. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The modern design, excellent facilities, delicious food, and great service made our stay unforgettable. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo!

Was amazed only rated 3 star, better then many 4 stars have stayed in. Room good size, powerful shower in well designed bathroom. Housekeeping did great job. Rate included excellent breakfast with omlette station, and REAL back bacon as well in chicken bacon. Ate at restuarant and rooftop bar. Enjoyed both reasonably priced meals. Has pool and well equipped gym, had everything I needed , well done.

Getting a lift could be a pain. This hotel has 20+ accomodation floors and only 3 guest lifts. One morning I waited on the 10th floor and had 3 lifts come down which were fully loaded, and 2 more pass floor by. An ederly couple waiting with me said they sometimes got lift going up and then came down in it. This day they gave up waiting and walked down .

We enjoyed our stay at Cinnamon Red. Great modern hotel with rooftop bar and pool. Large buffet breakfast. Lovely comfortable room with a great view. Super staff. Nice Prawn restaurant a few doors down and convenience store across the road. Easy to get an Uber from outside the hotel to go into the city/station etc. We had train tickets sent to the hotel and staff looked after them for us until we arrived.

The DJ on the rooftop bar!! Started his set at 6.20pm one evening and totally killed the ambience with his loud play list. The place seemed to be full of guests enjoying a sun downer and discussions about their day and matey starts blasting out club tunes. Way too early to get the party started and the killed conversations. Pool was busy when we were there so didn't get to go in. You may encounter a couple of guys along the street outside the hotel saying they work at Cinnamon Red and try to strike up a conversation. Ignore them. Equally they may tell you there is a special annual festival that YOU MUST attend. Again ignore. It is a scam and one that occurs all over the city.

The hotel itself was clean but the buffet in the restaurant was hardly warm. The staff were attentive. The rooms have more than adequate storage with added bonus of a fridge and a safe. It felt so good to have a high pressured hot water shower supply without having to wait for the water to warm up. The DJ on the rooftop played amazing music on Friday night, worth staying in the hotel for the vibe. It would be good to have a dedicated changing room for those who have checked out but flights very late at night so can shower and change of clothes before leaving for the airport. Also cheaper to use Pick Me Up for the airport transfer rather than the airport shuttle

The location was great, Security at the entrance made me feel safe and secure. The Staff were very friendly. The bedroom was amazing, I had a corner room on the 24th floor, so had spectacular views of the city. The bed was super comfy. The room was very spacious with large shower room and facilities. The breakfast choice was amazing, with great choice of continental, British, European and Sri Lankan cuisine. The bar on the top floor has amazing views with a pool overlooking the city skyline. The food in the restaurant was amazing. There is a supermarket across the road, which came in handy. It more than met my expectations and I will definitely stay there again, if I return to Sri Lanka.

Nothing to dislike

Nice hotel at a good location. The rooms were clean and cosy. Breakfast was great as well as the infinity pool on the roof top.

We did not get the rooms we have booked. By arrival, we were offered rooms on the different floors but we have mentioned when booking that we want the rooms on the same floor because we are travelling with children. Than we were offered some other rooms, than some other and in the end two rooms on the same floor. But there was no third bed in one room as we have booked. Also, I had a conversation with them over messages if we could pay in cash end in foreign currency (€,$). They have answered positively. When checking out, this was no longer an option.

We chose a panoramic room at the Cinnamon Red hotel for the higher floor with view, and were not disappointed. We were given a corner room on the 20th floor which had a 180° view across the city and towards the sea. The huge bed was very comfortable, with 2 sumptuous pillows each. A complimentary bottle of water each in the room was very welcome, as was the tea and coffee making facilities. There was an ice machine near the lifts on our floor, which was a nice touch. The shower area was large, with a hot and powerful shower to luxuriate in, and some toiletries. The bathroom was well-lit, housed the adequate hairdryer and large standard/magnifying mirror and good sized towels. Our room was excellently looked after by a friendly, polite and welcoming young man called Gayan. He always greeted us with a smile, checked several times that all was to our satisfaction, and was happy to chat with us a little. Breakfast was to a good standard and my husband was happy to get a full English whilst also trying local cuisine. There was plenty of choice, a cooking station, and the food catered to lots of different tastes/dietary requirements. We stayed 2 nights and chose this hotel for its excellent location for visiting some of the many landmarks in Colombo. It is a lovely, clean hotel with a pool, gym and bar/snack bar on the 26th floor (rooftop). Happy hour is 5pm til 7pm each evening and a great place to relax and watch the sun set. Read less

At check-in we were given the option to have our evening meal at the hotel. Although an extra sum was blocked on our credit card, I was assured I could pay with local currency. It was only at check-out that we were informed that we could not pay cash unless we had proof of where we had exchanged our currency. So we had to pay on card. Whilst we could, and did, pay by card, it was an inconvenience and we would have preferred to have been told this at check-in.

The breakfast was excellent, a large selection and there was no problem, for example, refilling coffee on request. We chose the place after arriving, we liked the pool on the roof. As for the surroundings, we didn't find it interesting at all, you have to take a tuk-tuk to get to interesting places. The bathroom could use a little more care, but that's probably a problem with all Asian facilities.

We were very disappointed with the rooftop bar. The view is nice, but the staff charged us a service charge in addition to tax for 2 drinks, even though we didn't eat anything. The highlight was when they still didn't give us our money back properly. We will definitely never go here again. Be careful not to get caught in the trap. The view is nice, but there are other places where you can get a drink for much less. It really spoiled our impression of the overall accommodation.
