This is a very charming and comfortable town home that is just a short stroll to the main square in Amboise and the two chateaux. There is also plenty of free parking nearby. Alison is a great host, very interesting to talk to, and a wonderful cook as well. (Definitely take her up on dinner if she offers it.)

Everything was fantastic except our room did have a little bit of road noise, so we had to sleep with closed windows, which isn’t our preference. We were in the only room that faces the street, so if noise is an issue for you too, just book any room except the yellow room.

This is one of the absolute cleanest properties I have ever stayed in, hotels included! Our room was cozy, the bed very comfortable, a true King size! Loved especially the spacious bathroom, awesome shower! There was no air conditioning in our first floor suite but the room stayed naturally VERY cool, even during a 35C heat wave. (A fan is provided but we only used it once.) Alison is a dedicated host, highly responsive as well as proactive. Her homemade breakfast spread is a delight—it is petit dejuener style with fromage/charcuterie. (Alison’s dinners are also reasonably priced and delicious!) The B&B is ideally located, close to everything! Free parking was a nice bonus, though sometimes you have to play the hunting game for a spot. Highly recommended!

Allison is the owner of this lovely B & B. She is very responsive and accommodating and really goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as nice as possible. Her breakfast is amazing as she bakes her own bread and croissants and they are great.....not like mine ;) The location is great with free parking nearby and walkable to all the restaurants and shopping in town. Allison has great advice on the best places to eat in town and what to do in the surrounding areas of the Loire Valley!

Not really anything. I can see if the weather is really hot that the room would not be as comfortable because there is no real air conditioning. But that is something that you should expect if you pick to stay in a historical home near a historical center.

10 stars are not enough to describe how excellent our stay was. The moment we checked in our luck began to improve as we had been robbed in Paris and the wonderful host Alison helped us in many ways to help us get our situation resolved. She is a caring and very knowledgeable person who assisted us in so many ways. She is an excellent chef as well and the dinner and breakfast she prepared for us was delicious and special and at a better price than anything close to the same quality in town. Cleanliness was above board, comfort excellent, and Alison's attention to detail was perfect. Thank you Alison and Le 31 B&B!!

Absolutely nothing.

Alison, the owner, was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area and sites to see. The breakfasts were handmade using local and regional ingredients. Fresh, warm from the oven, croissants and breads, local meat and cheeses, fresh fruit and homemade jams and fruit compote were all delicious. The bed and pillows were divine. Nice sitting room upstairs with hot pot to make tea in the evening. Very cozy and welcoming home. The town was very walkable and fun to explore. We enjoyed Chateau de Clos Luce. Lots of street parking close to the B & B.

Alison prepared a delicious assortment of homemade breakfast pastries and tarts, cheeses and meats, cereal, and more, all absolutely delicious. The table setting was beautiful and suited the lovely renovated historic home. The conversation around the table was always interesting, and Alison is a welcoming host. The location was perfect for walking everywhere or driving to castles. Ambroise is a beautiful village in an excellent location for visiting the Loire area of France. Highly recommend this AirB&B.

Absolutely nothing.

We have just spent a delightful two days with Alison at Le 31. As soon as we arrived we found her to be a genuinely warm lovely person who takes pride in her home and in entertaining guests. The house and bedrooms are beautifully decorated and clean. The beds are so comforable that I didn't want to get out of it and slept soundly both nights. Everything in Amboise is within walking distance and so we dined out for tapas one night and then Alson cooked us a lovely meal on the second night which was my husbands birthday. Highly recommended if you want something more personal than a large hotel. We shall be back for sure.

Everything about Alison's place is perfect. Easy walk to anywhere and Alison goes out of her way to make you feel at home. We were instantly comfortable with her and enjoyed chatting with her. I can't possibly type enough about Alison to adequately describe how wonderful she is. From the moment she opened the door, we felt perfectly at home and comfortable with her. Don't even get me started about her food - she's the best!!

Nothing could have been better. Only more time here would improve our stay. We were bouncing to several areas of France and were only in Amboise for a couple of days. Only regret is that we didn't plan a couple more days here.

Breakfast was spectacular. Lots of choice and made to perfection and fresh daily. Loved the atmosphere sitting with the other guests and host! Also loved the personal touches in the room with the embroidered towels and matching bedding and curtains and the chandelier added an extra touch. The rooms were done in excellent taste. Host was spectacular! Made you feel very welcome and had great information about the area. Loved getting to know her and made the experience so much more personal and exceptional.

Le 31 is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. The house is a beautifully restored place with exceptionally well detailed and decorated rooms. There’s pristine bathrooms and a nice patio to relax in during your stay. The host takes pride and care ensuring your stay is comfortable and memorable. The breakfast provided each morning was varied to suit all tastes and hit the spot each time. There’s a few good restaurants in walking distance. My stay was great. Very memorable.
