The best hotel with the best location on the island. Two things stand out - the restaurant staff and the range of menu options at a reasonable price, plus the fact that many coral reef fish can be seen by snorkelling only 100m in front of the resort. Everything is managed very well by Es on reception - nothing is too much trouble.

The lack of detailed information about the boat transport options from Pak Meng, and the costs involved, was a concern initially after first making the booking. However, it all worked out in the end. When we were on the island Es called the operators to arrange the return boat transfer and helped to avoid exorbitant 12GoAsia or Speedboat fees. Cost for two - 1600B for boat plus taxi to Trang airport.

The setting of the hotel was lovely, there were lots of sun loungers and you had a great view when having a drink in the evening. You could also walk to the other side of the island for the late afternoon sun. The room was also pretty nice. The food was okay, some meals were a bit hit or miss

The mattress in the bedroom was really hard, I had a sore back after our stay. The bathroom could also do with some upgrading, the shower wasn’t very nice. There were a lot of children running around during our stay, felt like a kids holiday camp which wasn’t the vibe we were looking for

The hotel delights on every level from the first to the last moment. At the first step on the shore we were already completely taken care of. We did not have to worry about transporting luggage, the service was very friendly and helpful in every matter. The food was delicious. The cottages were very comfortable and provided a sense of privacy. The facility is arranged in such a way that everyone will find a place for themselves to relax. You can admire the reef and fishes in the water that is close to the shore. I used the pool every day, the color of the water that I read about is not due to neglect but to the color of the walls and bottom of the pool ;) the water in it is very clean and the pool is cleaned every day. It is true that it is quite hot sometimes but nothing disturbing. The prices are slightly higher than on land but not without exaggeration, you have to remember that it is an island and some products are simply harder to get and that is why the price is higher.

Everything was great

Perfect bungalow on a picturesque white sand beach. Quiet but still lots of restaurants close by. Attentive staff. Very thoughtful breakfast options and a cute beach bar. Highly recommend if you’re wanting a hint of luxury on a quiet island with perfect water. Only just discovered the amazing snorkeling right outside the hotel - better than most of the tours. Photos don’t do it justice.

The island is quite expensive generally (compared with regular Thai prices) but everything is shipped in so it’s to be expected.

Perfect location surrounded by nature . Views to die for with great snorkelling. Food was great with a wide variety to choose from - being a quiet island that was a worry but we tried various dishes and weren’t disappointed. The staff at the hotel were exceptional - friendly and efficient and all marshalled by the fantastic Thunyather (S) front of house - they keep the place running and are the glue that keeps the place together . Chiew & Prea on the bar make excellent cocktails and always have a cheery greeting.

We had a couple of issues around water supply to the room (900s at the top of the resort ) but it is a remote island and just a quick word with Reception and they had maintenance on it at once .

The service was exceptional—both at the reception and in the restaurant. The location was the best on the entire island. The facilities were a bit worn out but overall comfortable and clean. It has a bit of a cute ’90s vibe—people over 40 with families, no loud music, and no influencers. Just perfect. The restaurant food was quite good, even better than what we had at a 5-star resort. I do wish there were more non-alcoholic iced drinks available. The massage was a big surprise—I’ve been to many masseurs before, but this place has an amazing lady named Pin, who has a medical background and managed to fix my long-term shoulder problem. Very happy with the quiet atmosphere and the no-smoking policy in the facilities and restaurant. Beach and views were amazing.

Absolutely stunning location on Koh Ngai with fantastic snorkeling and views. The food in the restaurant was excellent and overall the staff were exceptional.

The bungalows could use a bit of a facelift - porches and lighting were a bit sketchy. Tried to arrange a special dinner on our anniversary in the restaurant but the person we spoke to told us they were too busy even to reserve a table. There were many available tables every night. This same person also tried to charge us an extra 50 TB for ice! Also tried to have a foot massage (twice) but they had run out of massage oil. Otherwise everything was fantastic.

Nice resort with great staff. Beach bar has cheapest beers on the island. Food at the restaurant is good. You can be to the other end of the beach in about a 30min walk (a handful of bars/restaurants along the way) and in 20-30 min you can walk up over the hill to paradise beach. Free breakfast was sufficient. Not much else to do in the island except chill.

The rooms seemed fairly well taken care of, but the bathrooms could use a bit of a remodeling (but weren't bad). Our ac never fully cooled the room.

Koh Ngai is an absolutely paradise-like destination, but travelers shouldn’t expect ultra-luxury resorts on the island. That said, it remains a considerably more expensive destination compared to the Thai standard. Thanya Beach Resort is arguably the best hotel on the island, located at one end of the main beach. Its laid-back yet well-equipped atmosphere offers everything needed for a truly memorable stay. Special mention goes to the always-smiling and helpful staff, as well as the excellent restaurant. We left the hotel but wished we could have stayed longer!

Everything’s perfect.

We stayed in a family garden villa which was perfect. We paid for an extra bed which meant our family of 5 could all stay together. This worked perfectly for us and we prefered having the privacy of the garden view villas. The restaurant was very good, and reasonable value for money, but it was also easy to walk up the beach along to other resorts. We walked over to Paradise beach which was a relatively easy 20-30 minute walk, and the beach was nearly deserted when we were there. The snorkelling in front of the resort was excellent, although we sometimes had to avoid jellyfish. The pool was gorgeous being adjacent to the beach. It is a lovely natural colour pool, and was totally clean. The staff were very helpful organising transfers and trips. Although it was a bit of a bumpy speedboat ride to get here, it was definitely worth it.
