Location has pros and cons. It’s good because you feel isolated and detached from the world. And not really good because you don’t have options on food. The resort, beach, room were really great. No complaints at all. Very quiet. Coral reef is gorgeous! Thanks for free snorkeling set and kayak.

Food at the restaurant is not so good, it’s edible but I wouldn’t eat there. Also it’s quite expensive (150 b, minimum). Next time I would bring some fruits with me from a mainland.

The staff at Koh Ngai Resort were the most genuine we have encountered in nearly a month in Thailand. Fabulous isolated beach. We were upgraded too!

Oh the beds, it was due to happen, they were tired old spring beds. Still slept well with kayaking, swimming and good food to tire us out.

Amazing location - very beautiful Decent breakfast included.

It felt a little bit like you were captive and could not move far (no roads) other than walk to the next beach. We upgraded (at extra cost) to a garden bungalow as the original room was not good. Wi-Fi was poor. Food & beer expensive. Air-con in room cost another 500bht!!

- incredible location - beautiful beach - crazy view and green emerald water - great snorkelling just in front of the beach - free quality snorkelling equipment and kayaks for guests - very friendly and helpful staff - excellent restaurant - jungle setting and wildlife - great and not over priced massages - free towels and plenty of space to hang out in peace

- the other parts of the islands can only be reached at low tide but that’s what makes it peaceful and gives this completely remote, in the middle of the jungle - seems to be a huge resort with plenty of bungalows and rooms even if there were not so many people around when we were there - laundry is a bit over priced

A beautiful setting with a private beach, where you can snorkel directly off the beach. We saw a giant cuttlefish our first day! Restaurant, maintenance and reception staff are all incredibly friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Bungalows are well appointed, clean, with great air conditioning and the best showers we found in any beach resort in Thailand and Malaysia at this price point.

The surface by the pool is gritty and not all that nice to walk on. The pool also looks old and grotty, though it is clean.

Travelling in low season, we seemed to be the only visitors on the island. As such, we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and from the free breakfasts to the resort minimart, they catered to our every need. Free snorkelling gear and kayaks were provided, and the rooms were modest but served thier purpose. Loved the quiet feel of the island, and it was beautiful.

The only downside was the small and oddly placed showers. Not a lot of space or very hot, but wasn't too bad at the end of the day.

The location was very peaceful, to get to other beaches you had to navigate a tricky coastal path, so if you weren’t very confident on rough ground, you would basically be stuck in the resort.

As in most resorts and hotels in Thailand , the overuse of single use plastic is shameful. We have them some suggestions at the end of our trip about some ways to improve this so hopefully they can explore them to see if any can be implemented.

We stayed 5 nights in a bungalow (on stilts) with garden view. For us this was the perfect room: spacious, atmospheric, well maintained, with a comfortable big bathroom and huge balcony overlooking the lovely grounds and beautiful bay. Although our bungalow was advertised as twin bedded the management arranged on our request a double bed instead, which we very much appreciated. Free drinking water and coffee/tea were provided on daily basis. A sumptuous breakfast buffet was included, with delicious western and oriental items. In the restaurant we had some very good lunches and dinner, while enjoying romantic views over the Andaman Sea. Staff was always super friendly and attentive. They have good information about boat excursions and ferry schedules to your onward destination. The hotel rents out free snorkeling gear and kayaks to guests, which we definitely found a nice surprise, especially since these were all in extremely good condition. Relaxing massages at reasonable rates are given as well.

Good to know is that Koh Ngai Resort is quite a big property, in a pretty isolated corner of the island, can accommodate loads of guests. Upon arrival - seeing so many buildings, a swimming pool and even a small children's playground - our first impression therefore wasn't that possitive, as we feared to have ended up in a too touristy place. Happily this soon turned out 100% the opposite: the resort is set up very pleasant, with different kind of rooms/bungalows, in a lush garden, all very well looked after and there's a cheery positive vibe all around the place. Of course probably we were lucky too, since there were not so many guests at the time we were there... Anyway we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay and regretted we had to leave.

The location at one end of a beach gives it a cut off, calmness. It's beach and snorkeling areas are good. It's food was very good. Staff were excellent. If you like peacefulness try here...

An unusual property some of it dated but good value. Other bungalow type rooms are a mix of styles created over time and provide spacious facilities. Some re building work needs completing and clearing up.

The location and the beach was perfect. The reef was just a few meters from the beach. The staff was very friendly and food at the restaurant was good. There is a shop at the hotel with the basic products and it’s not too pricey.

The food at breakfast was the same every day. The boat stops at other beach and you need to switch to a taxi boat (free of charge). The prices at the restaurant were quite high (150 tbh-250 tbh for a dish).
