We absolutely LOVED our stay at Thapwarin Resort. Koh Ngai is so peaceful and beautiful. We have stayed at many resorts and hotels in Thailand and the staff at Thapwarin was with no doubt the nicest and friendliest we have ever experienced. The restaurant is good (both the thai and western cuisine). The breakfast was also very good, I especially liked the potato hash with egg and bacon. I also had the best massage!! Would highly recommend anyone to get one. We used the boat company Bundhaya, who gets you to the pier in Koh Ngai, and then gets you to your hotel by long boat. The trip was good and the boat seems newer than others we've tried, we would definitely recommend.

Clearly everything was not brand new, and could use some touchups. We didn't mind it much though.

Lots of lights in room, comfortable bed. Large room and bathroom. Clean. Mosquitoes sprayed every night in room if requested. Very few Mosquitoes seen in room. Nice covered porch in the back bungalows. We had room 16,with a nice covered porch. Center bungalows didn't have covered porch. Restaurant Very nice near the beach. Enjoyed their food every night. Excellent breakfast provided. Water out front had quite a few rocks, need water shoes. Snorkeling 200 metres off shore was very good. Water and beach beautiful. Saw hornbills and water monitor on site.

Mosquitoes

The peaceful surroundings of nature, quiet and not over populated with people and resorts. Just tranquility and breathtaking views of the beautiful turquoise waters and green jungles. We love our little beach front bungalow, perfect for our little family of 3 to all stay together with plenty of space. The staff can’t do enough to help, always so friendly with an abundance of smiles and warmth from all of them.

Nothing! This was our second time staying at this resort and we will be back for a third stay.

Hotel is amazing, you are in the middle of the nature and the facilities are very comfortable. The beach and sea is perfect for swimming and snorkel. Breakfast was excellent! Restaurant of the hotel as well! We enjoyed every meal and price very reasonable. The staff is amazing! They make you feel like at home. Massage spa is also great! My sons and I enjoyed very much the massage sessions !!! A super recommended place if your idea is to relax and enjoy the beach!

Tranquile location at far end of the beach. Fantastic coral reef 100 m outside hotel beach - not damaged or over-exploited. Best snorkelling on island. We stayed 4 nights due to this. Nice restaurant with stunning view, good breakfast. Reading comments on all hotels at Koh Ngai stating ”overpriced hotel” and that is in one way true - the bungalows are simple, a bit worn, and many hotels lack pool. But remember - you pay for the location on this beautiful island, not for a luxury hotel. Personnel nice and helpful.

No beach strip at all at high tide, and very shallow sea at low tide, but plenty of sunbeds overlooking the sea. However missed the super soft sand found in other locations on the island. A pool would have compensated somewhat. Extremely hard beds - as often in older hotels. However tasty and beautiful restaurant at daytime - not the cosiest restaurant at night. Coco Hotel next door was a better option with cool design and great food.

Private jungle experience! Really nice to have one cutout from civilization during a trip, but few days are enough, the beach was flooded half of the day but there is something magical about it when you have to adapt to the nature laws if you wanna explore the island by the beach and a few amazing meetings with fauna ;)

Food wasn’t the best, but camping restaurant which is almost connected to the resort restaurant is one of the best we ate at, especially panang curry 🙌

We had an amazing stay at Thapwarin Resort. The location is outstanding - right on the beach with palm trees swaying over the crystal-clear water and views of the nearby islets. The deck at Thapwarin is superb, a place where you can enjoy some food & drinks and admire the setting. The rooms were great (surrounded by lush trees and chirping birds), the staff were friendly and the food was nice. We even had the good fortune of meeting the owners of the resort who offered us a ride to Trang City when we couldn't find a taxi at Pak Meng Pier. They were so lovely and we hope to meet them again on our next visit to Ko Ngai. I can't recommend this place enough! Ko Ngai was probably the most beautiful island we have visited in Thailand.

there were no mosquito net in the family room, I could have turn off the AC to save some electricity, but we had to leave the AC on entire night so prevent from mosquito bite. There were no small size fin available.

We enjoyed the semi jungle setting of the bungalows and the environmentally friendly theme. The resort has got a very relaxed feel. We enjoyed the breakfast selection with lots of fresh fruit, Thai food and options for cooked eggs. All supplies arrive by boat and we were amazed by the selection of foods for lunch and dinner.

Our room had a slight damp smell which the air conditioner made bearable

The room was really nice ! Large bathroom and cozy. The bed had a mosquito net which is really enjoyable. In front of the beach , we could enjoy an amazing view with some trees. You have to swim a bit far for the snorkeling for a fee if you wanna equipment provided by the hotel. The restaurant was good and affordable considering the prices that you may see in other areas around or Phuket. The restaurant's staff was really nice ! The hotel is located on a beach were other restaurants are reachable by walk, so this is a great positive point if you wanna eat somewhere else. The place is charming and quiet in the evening. In overall, in an island like Koh Ngai, i may come back to such hotel.

Long swim for snorkeling. The beach around has some jellyfish purple, but i don't thing they are harmful.
