We stayed at Hotel Patritius for one night (May 3–4) during a short trip to Belgium. We were traveling with a dog and a 7-year-old child — everything was wonderful. The room was very clean, and the view from the window was just lovely. The hotel is perfectly located — just a few minutes’ walk to the city center. Bruges is charming, and we enjoyed walking around with our child and our dog. Everything was close and easy to reach on foot. The hotel has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and we especially liked the small inner garden — a peaceful and beautiful spot to relax. Breakfast on May 4 was also very good: tasty fried bacon, eggs, mini donuts, watermelon, yogurts, cereals, tea, coffee, juices, and milk — a standard but satisfying selection. Our child especially enjoyed the watermelon! A couple of downsides: there was an issue with parking. We called and emailed in advance, but there was no space available when we arrived. Also, during our phone call we were told there would be no extra charge for bringing a dog. However, it turned out we needed to send a separate email request, and we were charged a €20 pet fee at check-in — something we weren’t informed about beforehand, either on the phone or the website. Overall, despite these small issues, we really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return in the future.

A small request: it would be helpful to include information on the pet fee and the requirement to notify the hotel in advance about bringing a dog — either on the website or during the booking process.

This hotel is two minutes from the Market Place and Belfort and is in the perfect location for sightseeing in the old town of Bruges. The staff are very kind, the rooms are clean and bright, and breakfast offers a nice variety of cereals and vegetables. The scrambled eggs are homemade and delicious.

Although I could choose from three pillows, I decided to sleep without one because they were all uncomfortable. They were too big.

Staff were welcoming and friendly, had a lovely chat with the woman that checked us in, gave us some recommendations for first timers in Brugge. Beautiful building, room was clean and cosy, nicely lit and well ventilated, a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was good value, plenty of choice and relaxed atmosphere in the dining room. Location is excellent, a couple of minutes away from the centre but far enough that the street is quiet at night, away from the bustle. Just what we wanted, absolutely stunning. Felt like a home away from home. Thank you so much!

The hotel is on a quiet side street about 4 minutes walk to the town center. It felt very safe, and the neighborhood was exceptionally clean. The hotel is also meticulously cared for and has a beautiful courtyard. We stayed in the family room, which had plenty of space for one adult and 2 kids. They loved having their own beds. We received maid service every day without asking. The daytime temps were in the high 80s, so having a room with a/c was great and kept us comfortable during breaks and at night.

For some reason, my kids got a lot of insect bites while they were sleeping. We never could figure out what it was, but it was NOT bed bugs. They looked like mosquito or ant bites, but we never saw either in the room. We have been traveling for 2 weeks and haven't had this issue anywhere else. Other than that, our visit was beautiful and restful.

Well run small hotel just out of the city centre on a quiet street. Easy access for the taxi and they have limited private parking. Impeccable room, large, clean comfortable with air con heating/cooling, a large comfortable bed and tea making facilities. Access to an outdoor patio. Breakfast is buffet with cooked options in the traditional style from 8:30 to 10 and did not disappoint. Any other needs have to be arranged with reception. The whole place is very clean, the staff attentive, professional and knowledgeable. Reception closes at 8pm but there is keypad access for guests.

There are steps up to reception which could be an issue but there are rooms with level access so less able people are catered for. There are no easy facilities to grab snacks/drinks outside breakfast service. The rooms we occupied were not carpeted which is not good for a hotel, we could hear every movement in the room above!

Location is perfect, very short walk to the town centre - stunning. Breakfast was great, everything you could want is there and hot food made to order - amazing. The interior of the hotel is done very well, very stylish - in for a real treat at this hotel. The room my Mother and I stayed in - quadruple room was very spacious, clean, decorated well and had all that you needed. My Mother and I were both impressed and would definitely stay there again.

Really there was nothing to dislike. Owners were great and take great pride in their hotel and making sure guests are treated with the utmost attention.

The breakfast was excellent…healthy food, well prepared, good coffee, beautiful breakfast room. The location was convenient to everything and the staff is pleasant and helpful.

The bath/shower was very slippery. I have good balance but I would have used a no slip mat if one had been provided. Also the shower took a while to figure out because it was not typical. Instructions would have saved time. These are small things…I would definitely stay there on my next visit.

This family run hotel has charm and character, and is the type of place you want to stay whilst in a place like Bruges. Located in a nice quiet area, you are not far from the main attractions. Parking is limited but secure. Our hosts were always available during the day and were most accommodating. We have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Patritius and would gladly stay again.

Nothing to mention.

Wonderful breakfast and a fabulous quiet location. Very pleasant staff and a loved garden and parking on site. We loved Bruge and would recommend it to anyone.

We didn't get used wet towels replaced or any teas and milks replaced in the bedroom and as we were there 4 nights we thought we would have had a dry bath mat replaced. Everything else was brilliant.

Very nice room with a view overlocking the garden. Very clean and big room.

Take the bus from the central station if you are coming by train because it’s a long walk rolling suitcases, and it’s difficult to get through the crowds of tourists on the cobblestone streets to the accommodation. There is a bus stop near the accommodation a recommend you to take that.
