Great motel, we picked it as it was very affordable. It certainly exceeded our expectations. Room was very spacious and clean. Bathroom was large with both tub and separate shower, plenty of storage for toiletries and hooks for towels. Clothes line above the tub for swimwear etc Room had nice kitchenette, sofa, dining table plus seating on the patio. Doors and windows had fly screens allowing lots of ventilation. Both AC unit and ceiling fan. Blankets in the cupboard if chilly (which is never was!) Laundry facilities ($7) plus extensive dvd collection free to use. Free beach towels to use during stay. Excellent WiFi Receptionist is great and gave us useful tips for Port Douglas. Plus really appreciated the biscuits/cookies with tea and coffee 😋

(not really a dislike) it's 20min walk into town but as parking is free in the whole town you may as well drive. (I do believe there is a free shuttle into town but we never used it so not sure)

Good location, easy to find. It is very near about 3 minutes drive to the four mile beach and the shopping area at Macrossan Street. The owner, Aidan was really helpful and friendly. He is generous with his advice on what to do and where to go around Port Douglas to meet your interest and needs. Super grateful! The room is very spacious and clean. Basic kitchenette facility. On site laundry is available and parking is just outside your room. Very convenient. Very value for money. Definitely recommend to anyone who is heading to Port Douglas!

It will be good to have smart TV in all the rooms in the future. I would have prefer the bed mattres to be firmer. This is only my personal preference.

We stayed with our three young kids and had a great time. The kitchenette was really well appointed which made it actually useful. There was a large electric frying pan as well as an electric burner, a four slice toaster and cooking utensils, which makes a big difference when travelling with kids as we were able to cook a few proper meals during our stay. The pool is heated to a lovely temperature which is a real treat in Queensland! Most of the places we have stayed before have pools that are unheated and absolutely arctic, even when the outside temperature is warm, so it was fantastic to be able to use this pool. The kids stayed in it for literally hours because it was so lovely and warm. The owners were really friendly and approachable and they have done a good job to make the property a welcoming, enjoyable place to stay. They provide beach and reef towels free of charge, which is helpful when doing so much swimming and there was also an ice machine, which was a nice touch. We will definitely stay again and would recommend others to do the same. Thanks for having us.

We had a hire car, so it didn't matter to us, but it would be a bit far out of town if you didn't. I saw there is a shuttle bus available but it would get expensive for a family to use it multiple times. Still a good location for the beach and a great location if you do have a car as there is parking provided.

The room was exceptionally clean and well set up. The check-in was quick and easy, with the host being very pleasant. One nice touch was the make-up removal washer. I know it sounds silly, but the thought that went into providing that shows an attention to detail and a commitment to efficiency. Not having to over launder or throw out white washers is better for the environment. The pool was a lovely temperature, and the motel was close to the centre of Port Douglas but a little away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a peaceful place to stay.

Parking was a little tight but not out of the ordinary in a popular destination.

Loved the few days we staying at Lazy Lizard. The units are big, clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Fabulously comfy bed and pillows with extra pillows available in the wardrobe. Good size flat screen TV. Terrific air con and ceiling fan kept temperature perfect. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make simple meals. Handy to have the iron and ironing board and it was terrific to have the DVD player. There is washing machine and dryer and clothes dryers on premises to use if needed. Heaps of DVDs are available to borrow and a book swap library as well. We didn't have a swim but the pool area looked nice. Everything about this Motor Inn is well maintained and the host was really friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Lazy Lizard is a fabulous choice for accommodation at Port Douglas. Very affordable, large, clean, comfortable unit with tropical plants around the units and the covered car parking area.

Aiden was extremely helpful in suggesting sights to see. He has great local knowledge and is dedicated to making his visitors experience the best of what Port Douglas has to offer. I would highly recommend this accommodation to people who are looking for a comfortable, well equipped, clean and roomy place to stay, which is also well situated. The pool and spa are great; the water is always clean and a perfect temperature. Laundry facilities are great and drying rack are also very handy and always available. Parking is also very close to rooms and under cover. Really, I couldn’t fault this place!

Nothing ; it ticked all the boxes for us..

I arrived after reception had closed, but they made it very easy to get into my room. There was a letter to explain what I needed to do which was very clear, and they had put the aircon in for me. Though a little bit away from the main streets of town, the Lazy Lizard was VERY quiet, comfortable, and great value for money. It was exceptionally clean, the linen was like new, and I liked the ice machine!!!! I love ice in my work drinks and hate when I can't make ice in bar fridges, so this was a real plus😊

I was looking forward to a bath which I thought would happen from the room description. No biggie, though. Everything else was fantastic.

Lovely family run motel with spacious rooms, free parking, and an easy 20 min walk, or 3 min drive to the downtown area of Port Douglas. Lady at the front desk is especially lovely and made us feel extra welcome. Had everything you needed to cook a meal in the kitchenette in your room, including an electric pan that you can cook up a meal on, and utensils for cooking. Beach towels were free to use for the day and you could take them on your reef tour and return them when you were finished. DVDs were available to borrow at the front desk to use in your room which I thought was a very nice touch! Beds and pillows were super comfy. Location was quiet and tucked away from the main road. A/C was turned on for us before our arrival and did an excellent job.

The owners were amazing, friendly, and very professional. Went out of their way to help us with tour bookings, shuttles, our personal requests, and were always ready to chat. Nothing was too much trouble. Our unit was very comfortable, roomy, a huge bed, and very clean. Nice outdoor seating, pool was great on a hot day. Easy walk to main part of town.

No complaints from us.

We spent just one night here on our way to Cape Tribulation, so we didn’t have the chance to fully enjoy all the facilities available. The owners were very welcoming and kindly arranged a late check-in for us, as our flight arrived in the evening. The following morning, the owner gave us some excellent tips on what to see and do around Port Douglas, which we really appreciated.

The room was simply furnished but functional however perfect for a short stay.
