The location is amazing and the fact that the building is a historical landmark makes it even better. The entire staff is kind, helpful, knowledgeable. I want to especially highlight Zayda at the front desk: From check in until check out she was fantastic. She is extraordinary because it’s tough finding people now days that work hospitality and or customer service that are friendly, knowledgeable about not only their company but surrounding areas to suggest those new to the area to heighten their trip experience,as well as the fact she gos above and beyond. Her attention to detail is unmatched and I think she deserves a raise. I witnessed other hotel goers take time to appreciate her presence and efforts. I wanted to do the same. Thanks for everything! I continue to come back because of experiences like these.

The front desk staff were amazing. So helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable. Pricing could be better based on accommodations offered and the fact there is a club next door that’s loud and those drunk patrons come blocking the parking lot.

I had a funeral in Mt Holly & drove from Wilson, so I was going to stay in the chain hotel, until I saw this historic place in "oldtowne" Gastonia.. Fantastic historic property, easy to get to from 85, parking on premises ( YAY!) The place was beautifully restored & the room was just stunning. SO CLEAN! Check in with Meagan was BRILLIANT. I have stayed all over the world & I can tell you she was one of the most amazing hosts I have ever met. Friendly, super helpful ( check-in, internet issues, thermostat instructions, Parking , etc. ) patient, & utterly charming. The 4th floor room had an astounding view of the Holiday-decorated street! COFFEE!!! The bed was absolutely delicious & ditto on the pillows & linens. Didn't stay for breakfast because I had to leave early, but the dining area was gorgeous. Even the halls & elevators were beautiful. Parking was right next to the building, each spot was marked "reserved" & it felt quite safe. This hotel is very much like the historic Alex Johnson in Rapid City & the historic Town Hall In in Lead, SD. If you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!
Food truck pulled up at the club next door at 10:30 pm. Until about 3am it was churning loudly, music was blasting and people were gathered talking and laughing loudly. Don't know if that is a Sunday night thing, a weekend thing or what.

We loved the historical aspects of the building and the uniqueness of the room. The bed was comfortable and we were able to get a good night's sleep. The staff was courteous and helpful. It was a very pleasant stay.
We weren't too fond of the sliding barn style doors for the bathroom. They don't close tightly and we're a little difficult to maneuver. There was also a full sized mirror on the inside of the door..... directly across from the toilet. Not my favorite amenity. 😉

The bed was perfect. The room was small but had everything I needed. The shower was a little small; there wasn't much room to turn around comfortably without touching the shower curtain. My meal at the restaurant was great and I lovedthe atmosphere.
I don't have any complaints. My stay consisted of one night so I didn't get a lot of time to explore the hotel. I would definitely return for an additional stay.

Very cool conversion of old office building for attorneys. Nice and clean with everything you need. The roof top at sunset is amazing! Restaurant Esquire had fantastic food - great chef and great selection - and cozy European-like outdoor seating.
Breakfast could have had a couple more selections.

Nice classic hotel. Accommodations were very good and staff was very friendly.
We had an issue with our meal at the restaurant. Three times with an over cooked steak @ $45. was finally a charm. Our dining experience was my wife had her meal and then I had mine. The food, when it was straightened out, was good. Be totally clear as to what and how you want it.

The property was in a good location in Downtown Gastonia. Very clean. There was a bar and restaurant, and another eatery on the property. The roof was a great place to go with a drink and/or a snack. It was set up with tables and chairs and comfy couches.
The only thing we had an issue with the property was the parking. It wasn’t private parking, so one time we had to park on the street. We were okay with it, just thought it was odd that there was no designated hotel parking. Also, the room was tiny…..again we were okay with it because we weren’t in the room all day…..just needed a place to sleep.

This is a great old boutique hotel in a building with a lot of history. The rooms are thus very small, but lavishly appointed, and you do feel like you're walking back in time (but with modern plumbing!). It's easy to get back to Charlotte from here, I would stay here for fun. Wish there'd been time to try the restaurant and bar.
It was Thursday, so the restaurant and bar close earlier than one might like. Part of the authentic old-time experience is a cranky old elevator, but I'm not holding that against them.
