It is fascinating with old west decor. It is clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was great! WiFi worked well.

If you want cookie cutter spiffy perfection, don’t come here. The hotel is old. Some of the carpet is worn. Sometimes hot water takes a long time to come on.

This place was perhaps the most pleasant surprise of any US hotel I've ever booked on this site. It was built in 1911 as the place to be in Cheyenne right across from the train station. It now serves as much as a museum as a hotel, and my wife and I spent two hours wandering around the first and second floor public areas looking at all the classic memorabilia they have on display. Our room was huge--almost like a small apartment, and it was a great blend of classic decor with just the right modern updates. If you like beer and good food, there is a brewery across the street in the train station that is highly recommended.

Some reviewers have mentioned things like breakfast not being served and other things relating to the facilities not being ultra-modern. There are plenty of Holiday Inn Express type hotels in town, but if you want a unique Old West experience, you can't go wrong with this place. Just know some things will be different from what a hotel off the interstate built in the last thirty years will be like. The one authentic issue I will mention is that we stayed there on a Friday night, and the locals love cruising around in their noisy vehicles. If you want to avoid that, ask for a room not adjacent to the street. There are plenty of those.

Our room was fantastic. It was unexpectedly a suite. The hotel is very historic - which I really appreciated (although others may not if they are used to brand new hotels). Our room was extremely clean. The hotel is very centrally located in Cheyenne. Staff was very helpful in finding things to do in the city. The hotel has done a great job of holding onto the historic nature of the facility, while adding modern touches -like internet, TVs, etc.

The elevator is small, but it is an old hotel. Worked fine.

We loved this place. Very friendly staff excellent location. Great historical vibe the whole hotel is a mini museum that being said you will find some of the facilities slightly dated. Everything was in working order. Had a lovely room on the top floor seeing as it was 4th of July we had a grand view of fireworks from all over the Cheyenne. I feel we were particularly fortunate to be there on a Friday as the wigwam too was open. The lounge is not to be missed if for nothing else it's historic aspect. The drinks were superior as was the staff.

No parking anywhere near the hotel plan on at least a block walk. We were fortunate a single handicap space in front of the hotel was available. If you have any disabilities please be sure and map out your parking options in advance it's literally blocks away

The room was clean and comfortable. I was a little disappointed that the restaurant and bar were closed as they were one of the reasons I chose to stay at the historic plains. The staff were kind and helpful and answered any questions I had while staying there. I loved the historic vibes of the building; it was probably my favorite part of my stay. It is within walking distance of anything I needed from food to entertainment. I will be choosing the historic plains again. Thank you!!

There was a lot of built up lime and water in the tub and I did find some garbage left over from the last person. The fridge was also not very clean but all in all it was fine.

I enjoy finding old hotels for the history and this one was exceptional. When you get into the lobby, look up! Excellent chandelier and stained glass ceiling! The staff was fantastic. We booked it the same day we arrived and the staff was already prepared for our arrival.

For what we needed, it was great. There was a drip coffee maker in our room (and a fridge and microwave). There were packets containing a stirrer and various powders. There was pre-ground coffee. What there wasn't, were coffee filters. (Don't dispair, I had a great cup from a coffee shop within walking distance.

Charming hotel, very fun to see the momentous around the lobby, along the hotel hallway, and the room. Even the elevator was interesting. We also love the beautiful staircase. Very quiet room. So much to see within walking distance of the hotel. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. We will recommend this place to friends. The internet worked fine all the while we were there. And we had multiple devices.

We needed to hunt for outlets so we could charge our devices. Not surprising given this hotel is over a hundred years old.

The building had its charm as an old historic site. Narrow hallways, narrow staircases, and a small elevator gave it a fun old timey charm. The room wasn't very large, but I didn't need it to be as a solo traveler. It had all the amenities I needed to get through my trip. The hotel had a lot of cool ornate decor giving it an air of fancy. For the price, it ws perfectly licated for me to walk to all of my destinations. It would be nice to have a garage or something, but the free nearby dedicated parking lot worked out well for being in a tight downtown area.

The room wasn't terribly clean. There was debris on the floor and the sheets looked like they had stains on them. Washed, but stained. There was also an odd smell in the center of the room. Almost like someone forgot to clean up after a pet. There wasn't breakfast available like was advertised online. I guess the restaurant attached had closed a while before my stay.

Loved staying here! My partner and I really enjoyed our upgraded room - it was spacious, cozy, comfortable, and clean. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, and so were the other guests we saw around the hotel. Amazing history, beautiful place. Thanks so much.

We were disappointed that the restaurant and bar weren't open! We totally understand that you don't currently have a renter for those spots, so no worries. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy your eateries the next time we're in town.

Love the history and decor, it's a beautiful hotel.

The staff are nice. Second time I've booked. I'm not sure if its booking.com or hotel , but first time my reservation for my friend didn't exist. This last time they switched our rooms. I asked for king I got queen. My friend got my room then there were no king suites left. Something needs addressed here. The restaurant is permanently closed, it would be perfect to be able to dine and drink at the property. To let this beautiful restaurant fade away is heartbreaking.
