Great location, fantastic staff to offer tips about places to eat (go to Schnapp’s Bar for delicious and plentiful food) and alternative hikes. Very nice family friendly vibe with trampoline and ping pong table, inviting communal kitchen and space. Though we stayed mainly in our room/suite as it had a kitchenette and living area which was very comfy and WiFi excellent. Our room didn’t have a tub to soak in after a long hike, but there is an option to book. Also laundry facilities on site. Plentiful parking. Definitely recommend!

Great location and nice clean rooms.

I really enjoyed staying here — the place was great overall. The only downside for us was the stairs inside the unit. There were only three steps, but the platform to the side of the steps had no barrier, meaning young children could potentially fall down the stairs and also from the drop beside the TV. It’s not a big fall (around 2ft), but enough to make it hard to fully relax if you have toddlers - and after a day on the slopes, you do just want to relax! It may just be this particular unit, as others might not have these steps.

Cute cozy cabins. Really clever idea. Good for a cheap and cheerful one night stay. May start to feel very small and uncomfortable for a longer stay. Really just good accommodation if you are only planning on being there for the night and out and about for the day.

The bathtub is outside, which is cleverly hidden by the curvature of the neighbouring unit, with gardens shielding them on the other side. However, we had the end unit, and there is no other building to shield ther bath and the shrubbery meant to be blocking the bath from the main road was quite dead and leafless, so the main road has a view of the bathtub. So I could not use it, making it a bit superfluous. Perhaps a screen /trellis to block it from the road would give a little more privacy.

Bunk bed and double bed in room were good and shared bathroom was clean. There were four lockable bathrooms that each had a toilet and shower in our corridor. Then the basin for hand washing was in a shared space. That was okay, as we also had a basin (no fridge, no toilet) in our own room. (You can also book their newer accomodation 'pods' that, I am guessing, have their own ensuites, so check those out.) The large, shared kitchen and dining areas were as expected for a lodge. And plenty of room in two fridges to put our breaky and lunch goodies.

Reception lady had a bit of a, "W-T-F are you doing here?" look on her face when we arrived. She seemed to think we would know where everything was. Anyhoo, we did find everything that we needed in the mini-mart around the corner, and in their kitchen. I would have loved a hot bath. I was soooo tired after our 20km walk, I actually sat on shower floor during my shower, "ma leggies coudna take it no more"

The room has a sink, a mirror, and a portable heater. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with everything you need. Each room has its own section in the fridge and cupboard. The common area is large, and there’s a wood fireplace. There are multiple shared bathrooms, all of which are clean.

We stayed in a room with a double bed and a bunk bed. The double bed was comfortable, but the bunk beds were far too soft—you’re basically lying directly on the base. Probably more suitable for children with less weight.

Perfect location for TAC - relaxing in the bath a must having done the crossing! All very clean, modern beautifully presented and quite chic - absolute delight to stay and would thoroughly recommend these King studios. Loved absolutely everything about the studio except the bedding. Didn’t sleep well first night as the two single beds, pushed together to present a double, had two single mattress covers on it that had been stretched to try cover both. The bottom sheet was also a single sheet trying to cover a double bed which meant a very uncomfortable night. However, in speaking to the laundry lady in the morning she gave me s double sheet which I fitted. Thank you for this. All was now well and good nights sleep!

Everything is amazing about this property. The staff is also very nice and friendly. They will guide you if you need any assistance. The property is very close to the snow mountain. It is a warm cozy place to stay. There is a food truck just the next door -Camo kai Takeaway 721 159 6635. Their burgers and fish were awesome. Schnapps Bar is also near by to have some snacks or drinks. Overall it's so far a very clean, cozy and nice place to stay. We booked a private pod with bathtubs and attached bathroom. It is worth!

Excellent location for exploring the National Park. We stayed in an en suite room which was clean and spacious. Great to have our own fridge freezer to store food in. Communal kitchen was clean and had all the cutlery, pots and pans needed. Kitchen and gas hob and microwave too which was very useful, and a spacious dining area to eat in. Car parking was plentiful out the front. Bed was very comfortable.

Our room was along a narrow corridor and we could easily hear people walking around and closing doors. This wasn’t necessarily a fault with the property as most grown adults would know to be lighter footed and not slam doors at 4am but there didn’t seem much sound proofing.

We got a last minute, extremely cheap deal which was great. The common room is large and cozy, shared bathrooms are private. Our room actually had 3 beds which I didn't realise until we got there. Lovely and warm room with lots of extra goodies.

It would've been good to have been provided with more information for the tongariro crossing walk but reception said they had no information or brochures and to find it all online. I then picked up a brochure which had all the walking maps...? It would be good to have staff know more about the area.

The location is very close to Whakapapa. 4Square is also very close which is very convenient. Close to restaurants. There is a common kitchen and laundry. Everything is provided like linens, toiletries, milk, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar. Even dishwashing soap. Just a little suggestion, cooking oil for the kitchen, could also use disposable toothbrush and toothpaste. But everything is good, superb! We've been checking in for 3 consecutive years and it never disappoints.
