A homely hotel. A place that gives me a homely feel. Note: I stayed at the largest room with a balcony at the highest floor. So, my comment may be different from those who stay in smaller rooms at lower floors.

I stayed in the largest room with a balcony at the highest floor. The room is nice and the view is open with natural lighting. However, the downside, which is not the fault of the hotel, is that the room is east facing. So, the room is bright early in the morning right after sunrise. If you are a morning person, maybe it is ok. If you are not an early morning riser, make sure you wear eyemasks for sleeping. The room gets fairly warm in the morning too, given the sunshine. So, if you have the heat on, then leave the balcony door slightly opened before sleep so that you get fresh air in during morning, or you would get awakened because of increased temperature in the room.

Very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff assisted us with transferring our luggage to the next hotel. The location was good, only 15 min walk from Nagoya station. Close to convenience stores, a park across the road and some great eats nearby (strongly recommended the hungry moose - less than 5 minute walk away). The rooms are quite small. Which is pretty normal for Japan, but I think this was the smallest of all places we stayed. Still very comfortable. LOADS of books and a great little coffee shop downstairs in the hotel. Including English books.

The temperature in reception always felt very high, so we couldn’t linger there for very long without feeling a bit too hot. Otherwise everything was great!

Very nice hotel. It was the first hotel room in Japan that had decent lighting options (the name of this hotel is perfectly chosen). Also the walls were thicker than usually in Japanese Hotels, so that I could sleep without earplugs. Everything inside the room was carefully placed and it was very relaxing to sit on the little "couch". Even if the room was small, they were enough space for all my luggage to be placed in a tidy maner. The shower was great, too! The café/lounge area between the bookshelves was very cozy. The free welcome drink to try that area out was a nice touch. The staff was young and friendly. :)

The breakfast-burgers were sometimes not heated up properly.

It must have been that hotel that offers a unique experience with books. It’s a place where you can enjoy a hotel, books, and coffee. When you check in, you receive a free voucher for a drink at the cafe and you can borrow a book to take to your room. You just need to return it to the reception when you’re finished. I liked almost everything about this hotel, from the friendly staff to the convenient location. Our room had a nice view overlooking a park with a city view which looked quite pretty at night.

The only downside is that the room was quite small, making it a bit tight for two people and their luggage. However, considering Japan, this is a common issue.

Our second time staying here, great location only a 6min walk to the subway. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Definitely recommend getting the moderate double room as a couple so you can fit 2 suitcases. Bathroom layout it nice with a large shower. Love the concept with a cafe/book store on the ground floor, a relaxing vibe. Staff at reception are friendly and speak some English.

There is only 2 washing machine/dryers and the dry function just doesn't work. The machines are popular so hard to find them available. After 1 1/2 hours of drying my clothes were hot but still wet. I tried putting in less clothes but still no luck.

First thing to compliment is the shower, best I've ever used - good size, great pressure! The room layout was really efficient and made the space feel much bigger than it realistically was. The cafe downstairs made good coffees and had little snacks, all very reasonably priced (and we even received a complimentary drink voucher to use). Love the option to borrow a book to read during the stay, and the little reading nook in the room made it feel very cosy. The location was fairly central, some good food options nearby and plenty of attractions to check out. Transport was fairly easy to access, nearby station was ~5mins walk. Staff were very helpful when we were transporting luggage and happy to answer all the questions we had.

Only one pillow, very firm and no alternatives available.

The hotel had a lovely theme based around the cafe and library it had on the ground floor. This was open to the public as well as hotel patrons. As a guest, you could access a free book and a welcome drink at the cafe. They had English books, however, they tended to be on the higher shelves (can’t blame them!). The ‘book’ theme ran throughout the very modern and stylist hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well fitted out with all the usual refinements at this price bracket. The bed and bedding were notably comfortable. Two laundry machines were on the ground floor and worked exceptionally well (2-hr cycle for standard wash & dry in same machine). The room was a little on the small side for a twin bed set-up, however, it would not deter me from returning. The hotel is 1-stop away from Nagoya station (Fushimi which is less than a 5-min walk to hotel). I would highly recommend a stay here.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions and requests we had. We arrived before our check-in time but were able to leave our luggage securely in the lobby area and head out to explore in the meantime. They even provided us with a map for vegetarian options nearby, which was greatly appreciated! It was lovely to see all the books in the entrance area and the whole idea of being able to read/borrow books from there was such a novelty. I ended up buying a book from there in the end too.

It would have been perfect if they had GF/Vegetarian/allergen options on their menu and thus, in their breakfast as well. Other than that, we loved everything else!

Small room but very clean, comfortable and functional. Great location, near metro and restaurants. Convenience store next door. In house cafe and helpful staff

Strange breakfast : Every day there is a selection of mini burgers which you select two of plus your beverage of choice. Nice idea for a teen birthday party but really strange for breakfast and very little choice for non meat eaters, A healthier choice of some cereal, breads, fruits and eggs would be so much better. The breakfast concept really lets down what is otherwise a very nice hotel.

I really loved staying at this hotel, though out my 3 weeks trip through Japan I have booked more expensive hotels, though decided to try this one just because I had only one day in Nagoya and just wow it reminded me why you don't have to spend tons of money to get amazing clean rooms for cheaper. The room was not that big though it's shouldn't be surprising bathroom was clean and had all the amenities you need, and the staff was super nice, a huge plus is their English is perfect. You can find few convenience stores near by and everything is not really far away, you can walk to the station in 15 minutes. They do offer a free welcome drink. Also cool thing is that you can take books from the first floor it's like a little liberty I found few books in my room too. I would totally recommend this hotel.
