This superb hotel is in a beautiful setting. You can walk through the gate straight onto the beach. The sea was quite rough during our stay so we couldn't swim but the pool is heavenly so there's no need to. The rooms were perfect, and ours had a large bath with tons of piping hot water available. The food was amazing. We ate here 2 of our 3 nights, and they amended the set menu to suit us. During our stay I had to spend a night in hospital and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They arranged transport and completely looked after us. I can't fault this hotel and if I ever return to Sri Lanka would definitely re visit. Thankyou

Great hospitality, fab food - the prawns were especially delicious! Twice daily turn down service was really nice to have. We also used their laundry service which worked smoothly. My partner has a couple of food allergies and these were dealt with extremely well, and remembered throughout the stay. Fantastic colonial property which has been very tastefully renovated and decorated. Direct access to an untouched beach (not suitable for sunbathing but we really liked how natural it was). Room was also great. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

Nothing of note. Only very slight thing would be the lack of a kettle in the room (which with my cynical hat on may suggest that this is to generate more revenue from drink sales), however the quality of the drinks being provided was excellent with very good coffees, teas and juices - so wouldn’t mark it down for this

Gorgeous property with a private beach . The house is beautifully decorated- you feel as if you are staying in your own private villa . The staff are exceptionally good - discreet, friendly and very good at their jobs . The food is excellent and while the bedrooms are small , there are many communal areas so it doesn’t matter at all . Come here if you are looking for an authentic experience.

Dinner is offered at the hotel , but unlike lunch is a three course meal which didn’t suit us . The option to have one or two courses would be good .

The quality of the offering was excellent from the facilities, staff through to the food was beyond my expectations. On site add-ons such as massage and laundry service was provided too, for a small 6 bedroomed hotel that was excellent. Super place for a total chill to savour Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. Thanks to Dinuka and team for an amazing stay, even the unexpected downpours could not dampen my spirits at Coco Tangalle. I travel to Sri Lanka often, this one is going to be a repeat.

Hard to find anything, maybe a chair in my bedroom would have been nice, however, there were so many other areas to sit and relax, including beautiful large day, it wasn't a problem. You can't swim just at the edge of the property, but you can walk along to where it is safe (without rocks).

The service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering a level of comfort that far exceeded our expectations. The room and the hotel were outstanding, blending a charming colonial vibe with beautifully designed interiors. The lush garden, infinite pool, and direct access to the ocean added an extra layer of luxury to the experience. Everything was spotless, with our room cleaned twice daily, and the addition of aroma candles not only kept insects away but also enhanced the atmosphere. The location was fantastic—just a short walk to the city and the main beach, with other beaches and activities easily accessible by a quick Tuk Tuk ride. The breakfast was delicious, but what stood out most were the refreshing drinks, including fresh juices and smoothies, which we thoroughly enjoyed during our stay.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi occasionally dropped off and wasn’t the fastest, though this seemed to be a common issue everywhere we stayed in Sri Lanka.

The staff were very attentive and helpful, when told that we would be leaving early the following day, they ensured that staff were awake and present to help with our bags and also provided us with a pack lunch! All the food consumed was delicious (we stayed for the 3 course meal at the actual hotel and it was incredible value for money!) and we wish we had stayed longer then 1 night, the rooms were comfy and clean. The hotel is small (6 rooms) however it provides a more personal experience with staff and the facilities were amazing.

The colonial architecture was lovely and the pool by the sea was large and very nice. You could order food or a drink by the pool easily. Breakfast was good too.

Our bedroom looked onto a small corridor with the entrance to another room so we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. We also had two separate beds, which was not what we wanted as a couple. One can not swim at the beach in front of the hotel but there are many beautiful beaches nearby.

The hotel is amazing. I had one of my best nights of sleep in Sri Lanka, the room was huge and features a really comfortable bed. There are great amenities, such as the pool overlooking the ocean, which is perfect for chilling after a long day at the beach. Special mention to the friendly staff, always willing to help.

I ordered some food from the restaurant. The food was tasty, but sizes were small and slightly overpriced. That being said, breakfast was amazing.

From the moment we arrived at Coco we were treated as if we were living in a private residence. The staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish - never on top of you but always there if you wanted anything. The hotel is absolutely brilliant, room is great, the pool is great, the setting is so nice and peaceful - and you’re located so close to the town that you can walk to many places (although you would never feel like it when at Coco. On the day of our arrival it was my girlfriends birthday and to our surprise they had arranged for a birthday cake to be made from scratch for when we arrived back after our dinner. They also set the table for us with flowers and made this really special. We only booked 1 week before arrival and given there are only 4/5 rooms, I can’t believe we were lucky enough for there to have been room available. Perfect stay.

I read comments about the rooms being a little small depending on how long you were staying for. I can understand this, however it was no problem for us. We spent a very small amount of time in our room. Bathroom was also very spacious.

the staff - they are all fantastic and look after you so well. the room was large and with a great covered terrace with views out to the pool and through the trees to the ocean. location was fantastic - right on the beach and within walking distance of the town. the food was absolutely amazing.

the weather !!! sadly it rained quite a bit - very unusual for that time of the year. as for coco tangalle ...... nothing !!!
