When I arrived the bar area was beautifully decorated and all the staff were very welcoming. The food was great and the waitress was very accommodating. The room I was originally placed in was tired, worn, damp and unsuitable for use. I raised concerns with the manager on shift and he was very helpful and accommodating. He agreed the room was not up to standard, and offered an upgrade to the suite for free. I wont say the room was perfect, there was still a lot of room for improvement, but it was still a comfortable, spacious and a clean place to stay.

Other than the first room I was placed in and the minor wear and tear of the rooms, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

This is a very quaint hotel. The bed and pillow were very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Bathroom is lovely and gorgeous towels. Everything was clean and it was great to have tea coffee making facilities in the room, plus a bottle of water each. Yes the walls could do with a lick of paint but that's not a biggie for us. The bar area and restaurant are beautiful. We ate in the Thai restaurant with friends. The food was fantastic - tempura prawns were the crispiest ever. Excellent meal. The staff, particularly Lana, were all amazing and worked very hard indeed. We didn't have breakfast as too full from dinner the night before. We got a parking space in their small car park at the back of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice spacious room. Clean and well mentained I Liked the little extras like biscuits and toiletries. Lovely staff.lovely resturant that serves food all day.I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend

There were no complaints but we were at a gig in Bournemouth so just caught the bus outside £4 return each and busses run till early in the morning so no problems getting back. Only downside there is not enough free parking and we had to park over the road in a carpark at a small cost. Room was a bit noisy till the pubs shut.

The staff were super helpful and a shout out to Mary who we met when we turned up at the Ox. She took us through all the information required to make our stay comfortable . The location of the Ox is fab , close to Ashley Cross which has a host of eateries and within walking distance to Poole , Poole park and other areas of interest. The rooms were cleaned , towels replaced and the tea tray replenished on a daily basis another shout out to staff who made this happen. i should also mention that toiletries were also provided. The bed was really comfortable and although the accommodation is above a pub/restaurant we were not aware of any noise coming from these areas .

The decor is a tad tired and could do with a little attention . On a purely personal level i would have preferred if there had of been a door between the shower/ toilet area but that really is my personal preference.

Great room and large ensuite, the room had all the extras you need, fan, hair dryer, ironing board/ iron, kettle, sofa, large mirror, dressing table, lots of sockets for charging electrical devices, windows that opened for fresh air, very quiet and not overlooked :)

The only downfall was there was no soap or shower gel, which I hadn’t taken! Just one or the other would have made sense, nowhere days, post covid, hygiene is essential, I travel around a lot and have always had soap, shower gel etc provided.

The Ox is a good hotel for staying near the port. The receptionist was expecting us and greeted us and checked us in. The twin room was large and with a window overlooking the street below. There are some pubs, takeaways and grocery shops nearby. We were just passing through so just got a few things from the Co-Op and had a takeaway pizza from close by. I liked there were these things nearby so the hotel is in a good location for a visit like mine.

No plug sockets near the beds but no big deal.

The restaurant is decorated incredibly and has a lovely feel and atmosphere, the food was amazing. Staff were absolutely brilliant super friendly and accommodating/helpful. Couldn't fault the stay at all!

Absolutely nothing. There was nothing at all that we disliked. Only constructive criticism would be maybe incorporate a bit more of the theme and decoration of the restaurant into the hotel rooms as the restaurant has a brilliant look and feel and the room felt like it almost needed a little bit more of the restaurant feel in it. But we still absolutely loved it and would 10000% recommend and be back even though we only live around the corner! :D

I liked the location. The hotel is also a popular bar. There are plenty of bars and food places in the area. The room was large and clean with tea and coffee, making facilities. The hotel has a very popular Thai restaurant. The full English breakfast included was very good.

The carparking. the hotel does have a tiny carpark, but this was full and difficult to drive in or out of. There is a public carpark a few feet away. I advise you to pay by app. You need to pay at 8 am.

Staff were pleasant and helpful, we had a meal in the thai restaurant and breakfast the next day were lovely, the room was ok, a little tired but ok for 1 night. The decor in the pub and restaurant is great and very welcoming.

Theres parking behind the ox, but so small and tight to get in, just big enough for 4 cars,. Car park across the road only let's you do 4hrs max, not sure if you'd want to leave it there all night either. I booked it as we were going to the lighthouse which is 25mins walk away, or 5 mins in a taxi. Booked it on booking.com and all in all probably over priced at £107 for a B&B Bearing in mind it's on a main road junction.

We were attending a party in OX2 so being next door was ideal. Nice style, bit quirky. We had 2 rooms (11 and 12) on different floors. Both were a decent size with comfortable beds. Ate with family the next day which meant we didn't get to try breakfast but the menu looked great! Their little car park was a bonus as it was raining, but there's a pay and display across the road.

Room 11 was cold in the evening, but rather that than hot. Room 12 had a shower hose over the bath with no fixing so was not very easy to use without flooding the whole bathroom. They were really the only negatives, everything else was lovely.
