We had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our trip. The staff were absolutely lovely — always warm, welcoming, and ready to help with anything we needed. They made us feel truly cared for, which meant a lot while traveling with a little one. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind as a family. Everything felt clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed. We really appreciated the quiet surroundings and the overall positive energy of the place. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly stay. We’d definitely love to come back!

Staying at Sand in My Shoes was one of the highlights of our trip to Koh Phangan. Everything about this place was perfect — the rooms were spotlessly clean, the pool was great! the location right on the beach couldn’t be better, and it was close to everything we wanted to explore in the area. But what truly made our experience exceptional was the staff — they were, without a doubt, the best we encountered on our entire trip. Warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. We also rented a scooter through the hotel, which was super convenient and hassle-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay — can’t wait to come back!

The west side of koh phangan is far (30min) from the “movida” but it is close to hikes, views and beautiful beaches so you must have 1-2 nights there or even more!

This property and its staff made our first visit to Koh Phagnan exceptional. Tucked into the jungle and right on the beach, the whole place is very well appointed and thoughtfully designed. Our room had beautiful lighting and furniture, along with added luxuries like robes, jasmine-scented toiletries and a balcony with seats and drying rack for wet clothes. The restaurant, though, is what really impressed us—some of the most delicious Thai food we’ve had in all our 8 years of travelling here regularly. If you’re interested in slightly cheaper food options, the walking street is very close by with lots of restaurants, massage spas, nail salons, minimarts, etc., and the staff is only too happy to help provide additional suggestions if needed. This has been a little slice of heaven and we can’t wait to return!

The room was spacious and very nicely decorated. The restaurant with bar is typical asian. Wood and beautiful decorations. Perfect location on perfect sandy beach. It is a short 5min walk to retail street with many F&B options. If you are used to resort style vacation with many amenities this is not for you. This is for sunbathing, sea swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking only but if you are adventurous then the island discovery on motorbike could be the option.

In rainy season when heavy rains is on programm there is not much to do. I recommend this hotel for dry season only and especially for hottest months during the year.

Great place with great staff and a great location. Gina, the manager and the team were kind, friendly, and helpful with everything we needed throughout our stay. The place offers a nice breakfast and facilities like SUP, kayaks, and beach toys for kids. The location is on a private beach but still close to the main street with restaurants, groceries, and shops. Lovely swimming pool. The hotel has only 9 rooms, so it feels intimate and quiet. Great value for money, highly recommend!

We had the most incredible stay at this resort! The staff was beyond amazing, always friendly, attentive, and ready to go above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Tae and the rest of the crew really made us feel like family. The resort has its own sunbeds and a restaurant right on the beach, which is absolutely amazing. You can relax on the beach and enjoy your meals with the stunning view of the sea—truly the perfect way to spend the day. The food at the restaurant was fantastic—delicious meals at a great price. The location is perfect, just a short walk from everything you could need. Plus, you can easily rent a scooter from them to explore the area at your own pace. The room was absolutely perfect—comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The resort itself is a hidden gem, surrounded by lush trees and vibrant flowers that truly create a serene, vacation atmosphere. It's clear that the place is well taken care of. And best of all, the resort is right on the beach, making it so easy to enjoy the stunning views and relaxing by the sea. We stayed during New Year's, and the resort organized the most incredible celebration for us. The night was filled with great food, music, and thoughtful presents, making it an unforgettable experience. In a time when it seems like the island might soon be overtaken by big corporations, it’s so important to support these authentic, special places. This resort is the perfect example of that—charming, well-maintained, and full of character. We’ll definitely be back, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true, laid-back getaway.

The property is in a prime location , simply beautiful. The staff are all very nice , the manager Tae is excellent. The room was clean , bed comfortable. Pool is like being dropped into a secluded jungle. If you like a no fuss tranquil experience in a beautiful location then this property is for you . A short 5 minute walk to the centre of the village with plenty of restaurants etc .

It’s time to spend some money on updates , some bathroom towels where very worn . Beautiful bathroom mirror broken with sharp edge . A tile missing out of the swimming pool . As mentioned by others there is a 10 percent surcharge on drinks etc even for hotel guests.

Lovely property with the beautiful beach on one side and lush greenery on the other. Quiet and relaxing environment. What really stands out though is the staff and service. Tae, Gina and others on the team went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay - ever smiling and hospitable. They made all our travel arrangements without additional charges as most hotels tend to. We were taking an early morning ferry out of Koh Phangan and they came in early to make us a nice boxed breakfast. If you are in Koh Phangan it is a property you should consider sir ding time at.

I absolutely loved my room n the second floor - it was so comfortable and beautifully decorated and a lovely view through lush treetops. And it was quiet although I could hear the Tv next door but fortunately it wasn’t on late at night. The beach is nice and it’s a short walk into a gorgeous little town area with loads of restaurants, cafes and good coffee. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent- I had a few meals there and they were very good, as was breakfast. Pool is lovely but small with only two Sun loungers but most people sit on the beach.

A lot of the staff were lovely but there was one particularly grumpy man who wouldn’t say hello or even smile and just cast an uncomfortable vibe and so it made it less enjoyable being in the restaurant area. They also took over my room for 2 hours of non-urgent maintenance which really should have been done between guests. Other than that, the grounds are lovely but very small hotel vibes.

We were island hopping through Thailand for our honeymoon and I decided to book Sand in My Shoes as our last stop as my husband had not yet experienced Koh Phangan. I was a little hesitant to end the honeymoon in a sleepy little village on a part of the island I had not yet been to, but it turned out to absolute perfection and complete paradise! We had tossed up on whether to stay at Sand In My Shoes or Anantara and after venturing through Anantara whilst there, I am really happy we ended up where we did as this boutique beachfront hotel was absolute bliss! The food was incredible. The coffee the best we had had in Asia. The beach was perhaps my new favourite in all of Thailand (and I have travelled extensively throughout). The staff were so lovely (special shout out to Tae who checked us in and organised our transfer back to Samui airport!). We stayed in the beach loft overlooking the ocean and it was simply stunning. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the deck was our favourite place to watch the sunrise each morning and then enjoy a drink in the evenings - we simply couldn't fault our stay. We will most definitely be returning and can't wait to do so! Thank you to all of the staff who made our stay incredibly special and such a highlight of our honeymoon!

The only thing I would have loved being a bit of a fitness freak is to have had the option to use the gym at their neighbouring hotels - I'd have been happy to pay to do so, too! I couldn't fault Sand in my Shoes in the slightest and will most definitely be recommending to friends, family and anybody who will listen as it was a highlight of trip!
