Maggie and Violet were excellent!! Taking turns at Hostess and Chef, they both did a fantastic job!! The inn was very nice, very picturesque, and located a short walk from downtown Black Mountain.

Like any older home, the hot water took a while to get hot, and the AC seemed to struggle a bit. Nothing too serious - we very much enjoyed our stay!!

It's a lovely Inn. The staff was great . The Inn keeper, Violet was awesome! She made sure we had everything we needed and even helped us with our bags. She provided first class service. The breakfast was delicious and we loved the choices. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

Nestled in mountains of North Carolina, this was a wonderful get-away. With the history associated with this venue, it made the get-away also educational. The rooms were attractive; the food was outstanding; the stay was quite relaxing.

I can't really think of anything, in particular. Maybe the fact that being the old historical building that it is, the a/c was hard to regulate, but even then, all that was needed was an extra blanket... and the temperature during our stay outside was the high 90's, so this was actually kind of neat.

Location -quiet neighborhood close to downtown Black Mountain shops and restaurants.

No one to greet or help us when we arrived. Only phone number to call and didn’t see it at first until we asked a border. Very few people there early season. Had hoped for more overtly welcoming a nd friendly place.

Breakfast was good in all, just wish they had some pastries. location was excellent to downtown, walkable. we enjoyed the quietness of the location. we enjoyed sitting out on the porch and having wine.

The property could use some more TLC. Bushes and plants around the house could look betted. Bathroom was dated and tight.

Beautiful suite with fireplace. Violet the innkeeper was superb. Friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. She also cooked us a wonderful breakfast.

Nothing. One suggestion would be to get robes for the rooms.

I absolutely loved the location, the food, and the service. The rave reviews were on point with everything. We had a great breakfast every morning with homemade options. The vanilla syrup was delicious with our oatmeal cookie pancakes! The beds were very comfortable with lots of sheets, a few blankets, and pillows. It felt like staying at grandma's house, lol. The bear foot claw tub was the best part as we don't have many of those in the modern homes today. The location was phenomenal. Lots of options for eating, shopping, and just walking the town square was just around the corner.

There was parking in the back, but when the hotel is at capacity (on weekends), it can be a little cramped for parking. You have to be careful pulling in, and it can take a few turns to wiggle your way through the exit.

Center of town. Very Inn cozy. Very cute and clean rooms.

We liked the inn keepers, all the staff. The location, the food, the extras, like coffee & homemade cookies in the afternoon. Loved the porch & the chairs out front.
