The room was spacious and comfortable. Fireplace added to the coziness. There are two jacuzzis on the property and we had one to ourselves for a soak each night. The location was great, too. Close to ocean walking path and tide pools, 10 minute drive to Monterey, and an easy hop on the highway to Carmel and Big Sur.

The breakfast was a little less than expected when we were told there would be eggs and fresh fruit. There was a decent selection of bagels and muffins, and make-your-own-pancake machines, but the only eggs were hard boiled and the fruit was a bowl of apples and bananas. No bread to toast.

The location is great if you wish to visit Monterey or Carmel yet be removed from all the touristy areas. Easy walk to ocean trails, if weather permits. Room was large, had a fireplace with gas starter and great supply of wood in addition to a coffeemaker, small fridge, microwave, and hot air corn popper. Bed was fine. They offer breakfast items, but I brought my own since I find most hotel offerings have too much sugar for my diet. If it’s still chilly out, you’ll appreciate the fireplace since the rooms have electric baseboard heat. If you’re on the first floor and have a room above, you’ll hear them due to the vinyl floors, unfortunately woke up at 6 a.m. 😔 Didn’t have a chance to use the hot tub, one needs to consult with front desk first, which seemed a bit odd. I’d stay again since the rooms are well equipped.

The rooms were well appointed and roomy! We had 3 rooms for 6 adults, 2 beds in each room. Each room had a fireplace which added heat and comfort after a long drive. Great big pillows and soft towels. The Lobby is where the food was laid out and was all nice and neat. Eating was in a separate room which I liked. Parking was easy and not crowded. We went May 14, 2025 on a weekday. Still cold and foggy in the AM but truly a magical place.

I will return when weather is better and visit Carmel and Monterey then. It was so beautiful to stay in Pacific Grove we did not venture out driving.

Everything! Large space with lounge area, dining space, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Accommodated me and my family of 4 really well. We made a steak dinner and had all the equipment we needed. Room was clean and sofa bed was big enough for me and my daughter. There was complimentary wine served in the lobby in the afternoon/evening and a fabulous free breakfast in the morning with waffles you could make yourself! We stayed in the hot tub til late and had the best time here!

Can’t think of a negative apart from price but we got what we paid for.

It was so great! Lots of space, great staff, super clean. We got in so late that we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we’d have liked (we were on our way to Napa) but the sound of the ocean was awesome and we will definitely stay here on our next trip to Monterey!

It’s pretty minor, but there was a beautiful wood burning fireplace but the wood they’d set up for us was a big block that only smoked and wouldn’t catch fire. So that was a little disappointing. However, had we been there early enough to not feel awkward contacting the night manager, I’m certain he would have taken care of it for us!

We have been coming here for 30 years, and love the fireplaces and popcorn in the rooms. We also love being so close to the beach and to our favorite restaurant, Fishwife. The breakfast had enough gluten free choices - instant oatmeal and fresh fruit for me, and plenty of pastries and waffles for my husband. You can't beat the setting - Pacific Grove is beautiful!

I wished for more fruit juice - there wasn't any the first morning, but orange juice showed up the second day. The rooms need updating, but are perfectly clean and spacious.

Great location right near the Asilomar conference grounds; the hot tubs are great (and I appreciate that there are two different ones so you don't have to worry about crowding); the room was quiet with a comfortable bed; there was a good selection for the continental breakfast; and it was really nice to have a fireplace in the room. This was a perfect place to stay for my work trip, and I would happily come back in the future!

The carpet in my room was a little worn in places (but that's a very minor quibble in what's otherwise a fantastic hotel)

Cozy lil place. We loved the fireplace and the fact that breakfast is included. They also serve free wine for a couple hours in the evening. It wasn't very good wine but hey, it was free, and it was a nice little kick start to our evening, I'm not complaining. It kind of felt like a flash back in time. The rooms could use a bit of updating but everything was clean and in working condition. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning,

Room decor needs updating. Nothing major, just a few small modifications to bring the rooms into modern times would be nice.

Pretty much everything. I really appreciated the quiet spacious room with less stairs and bottom floor as requested. I loved the doggie potty area nearby especially at 5am. The bed was very comfortable. The charging station on the night tablewas so great I bought one of my own for travel. I thought the breakfast (and the lady who attended to it) were great (delicious coffee, my favorite Raisin Bran cereal and top-notch scones). Got my day started right.

The only thing I might mention is that the rug in my room in front of the fireplace either needs to be cleaned or replaced. Minor issue.

Beautiful area with lovely neighborhood walking. 2 hot tubs and wine available in the late afternoon. Cozy fireplace in the room with the gas starter made it easy to get a fire going. Fridge, microwave, small coffee maker and a popcorn maker with popcorn were great!

Beds were a bit too firm for our liking. Noise from upstairs rooms and outside stairs was pretty pronounced. Not enough parking available and when we came back at 8:30pm the 2nd night, we had to park on the street.
