Sweet little gem of a spot. Set away from the road in a quiet location, right by the butterfly grove.

We were in room 16, which we at first thought was great because it was an end unit and had a patch of grass right there for our dog. However, when the guests arrived to room 15, we could hear almost everything. Our heads were almost touching when we slept; just a thin wall between us. For two nights in a row, we were awakened by one of them having a 3am coughing fit, and they probably didn’t do much better with my husband’s thunderous snores. I loved everything else about the place, but that to me (a light sleeper) is a deal-breaker.

Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. I liked having my car parked right in front of the room. There was coffee available in the lobby/office in the morning. Location is convenient and peaceful. Fireplace was cozy for a chilly night. For hot days, keep in mind that there's no A/C but only a ceiling fan.

I wish there was an extra door guard/lock for security. I didn't like that there was only a simple lock at the door. The other thing is there's not much sound insulation, so you hear even the tiniest sound coming from other rooms or outside.

The check in experience was seamless. No hassle at all. The room was clean and nice. Lovely view from the window. Very quaint place. Though we were out for sightseeing most of our stay, but the hotel, staff and view were good. They could think of keeping a coffee maker in each room. Thats the only suggestion i have. Thanks Butterfly Grove!

Nothing in particular that I would mention here. The location of the hotel is at a place where you do not have any convenience store close by.

The place was very clean, the girl at the reception was very friendly, she told us that every morning they had coffee for the guests, the room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable, they have a small pool and a small spa there we relaxed and enjoyed the garden and a 7-year-old boy and I, just in front of our room was de parking… just behind the rooms is the monarch butterfly sanctuary a few steps away, but it's a shame we didn't find any, apparently it's not the time…. about 4 or 5 minutes from there are the different points where you can appreciate the ocean and its beauties, where you can take beautiful photos, you can also walk and enjoy the sea breeze, look at squirrels and with luck you can see dolphins or seals... it is the first time we were here We liked it a lot... a lot of peace and tranquility

The hotel is older but well maintained. The decor is dated but everything was super clean and comfortable and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and WiFi worked well. The rooms were also very spacious so if you have more than one person you won't feel on top of each other. Also, the area was beautiful and there were walking paths to take in the morning or evening. All in all I was very happy with my stay and would look to book again.

The office was only open for certain hours. They also don't offer breakfast. None of these were a deal breaker for us.

My only dislike is that we stated 3 nights (4 days) and not provided housekeeping. At check in, I was asked if we needed housekeeping. I said yes, for clean towels and extra coffee. I was told that we had to go into the office for those things. My husband and I are both partially disabled and we're staying for our Anniversary. It would have been nice to have our room freshened once, since we were there more than 2 days.

I live locally but had to vacate my apartment with my pup for a week. My experience at the Butterfly Grove in couldn’t be any better! I stayed at 2 other close hotels/motels for a few nights prior, they were fine but neither compared. The staff were all so kind and accommodating, and were happy to extend my stay when I needed to. They made a very stressful time a lot better for me. My room was great, very clean with high ceilings and an electric fireplace. The location was the best part, it’s amazing to wake up right in the middle of the monarch grove. I couldn’t bring my dog in the grove, but all around the property and right outside my room, there were tons of monarchs. It is really beautiful and peaceful. I would 100% recommend above anywhere else to anyone visiting.

I truly have no complaints. My stay was great.

The monarch preserve trail literally starts in the parking lot of the hotel. There are motel style rooms but also rooms in a 1915 Victorian house - this is where my room was. Very clean, had fridge, microwave, a table and 2 chairs. Easy parking. Great location to walk to beach. Free coffee in lobby in the morning.

Loved the hot tub! It was quiet and quaint! I loved the walking trails. Our room was awesome with the family room my daughter and her friend had her own room with a bathroom and us parents had ours!

Bed was a little too firm for my old back but the pillows made up for that. Water pressure was low, in the shower, not sure if it was a water saver shower head but I felt like I spent a longer time in the shower.
