Beautiful and relaxing. A couple of blocks off the beach and the surrounding homes are stunning. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Everyone was attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The “shuttle” to the village is a Mercedes S sedan and everything is close to 5 minutes away by car. The room was very comfortable with a huge bathroom and our own balcony looking out toward the ocean. Our time here was comfortable and restive. Would definitely book again. Even took the property‘s electric bikes for a fun ride around the point on Scenic Road. A great and memorable stay.

the breakfast is quite possibly one of the most incredible things about this hotel. They provide it with your reservation, and it is cooked for you, offered in the room or at a beautiful outdoor courtyard on property with a fireplace. The staff was very helpful, and offered amenities like free rides up the hill to the center of town. This hotel is down by the beach, just a block away, which is why I chose to stay here vs 6 blocks up hill in the center of town. It is quiet, private, a nice sanctuary. they place a lot of emphasis on their spa and the bathrooms. Those latter are amazing, each (I believe) has a tub with bath salts, etc, plus robes, slippers. I did not try the spa, but it seemed to be a destination for many of those staying there. (We were there in the offseason, February). The hotel’s food is quite good too although we only had snacks and a couple drinks at their bar. I believe the rates are a good value, for what you receive.

When we arrived, our first room unfortunately had a broken heat pump. We didn’t realize that it was broken, just thought the room was taking a while to heat up. But at night it was a problem.. when it was 40 degrees out! The hotel gave us another room, one nicer than what we had reserved but at our original rate, and helped us switch between rooms quickly.

The area of the hotel is excellent, close to the beach and a 12 minute walk from the center. The hotel has opened a couple of months ago after a complete renovation. I strongly recommend it when visiting Carmel by the Sea.

The breakfast was relatively poor for the quality of the hotel. In addition, there was an extra charge for the coffee (espeso or capuccino), a fact which I found annoying, since the price of the breakfast could have easily included it. I am positive that such minor issues will be addressed from the hotel management. The rooms are comfy & new, however the sound insulation between the upper & lower rooms was not excellent.

Fantastic location. Lovely popcorn and ginger I Ed tea at arrival and dried fruit snack at departure. Enjoyed Breakfast on our balcony. Also enjoyed having it al fresco on the patio. The Chai match acai pudding was great and eggs were fantastic. Easy parking. Great to take a car ride into town and walk back down the hill after dinner to watch the sunset by the firepit. We willbe back .

Fantastic location adjacent to the beach, a nice stroll 1 mile) to the small centre of Carmel. The property also offers to drive you there and back if you prefer. Room was spacious and modern, the outside breakfast was delightful, staff couldn’t have been more attentive and pleasant. Great location for the 17-mile drive. A true gem on our West Coast road trip

The breakfast was very good. We do wish there were more choices that did not cost extra.

The only problem we had that they changed our room. It took about 45 minutes to get a room we wanted with a double sink. After all of the trouble our room ended up being very small.

The suite was very clean and had nice amenities.

The TV remote was difficult to figure out. There wasn’t enough counter space to put all our cosmetic bags, change of clothes, etc. and no place to hang the hand towel in the bathroom. Odd layout in living room. Almost $50 for two glasses of Rose seemed excessive.

Nice upgrades all around been going for years to this place and the new owners did a great job…

The room we had was next to the office it was very small space … it was very noisy air conditioner and refrigerator were noisy… in the future I will not be booking this room …

The car service!!! Electric bikes and guest services were top notch.

Couldn’t get room coffee machine working. Would get an upper floor room next time for privacy from people walking around the property
