This property has recently been fully renovated (reopened early May 2024). Everything looks very new, clean, and modern. The bed was comfortable, ac/heat worked fine, shower was decent. The rooms had many thoughtful modern touches that I liked a lot. The location is perfect - just on the outskirts of the main downtown area. Everything was easily walkable, but it was easy driving away at the end of our stay, avoiding the constant foot traffic of the main downtown area.

I only have one minor complaint about the room design - the bathroom door has a large glass panel inside the wood frame. It’s ridged “privacy” glass, so not perfectly see through, but you can definitely make out shapes. I’d love to see them either replace those doors with fully wood doors, or add a curtain or pull down blind that could improve the privacy. We opted to use a blanket draped over the door as a makeshift curtain.

The location was great...it is in a quiet area and can walk to everything in Carmel. We got a very warm welcome at checkin and included a small glass of champagne with a homemade cookie! Room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, nicely deocrated and had some modern highlights. The staff was exceptionally nice and extremely helpful. We brought wine and cheese to one of the many comfy sitting areas with a firepit and the staff happily brought us everything we needed for our small gathering! They went above and beyond to be sure we were happy! The included breakfast was a delicious mix of hot and cold selections of elegantly displayed food which you could enjoy in the dining room or beside a firepit. In the early evening they bake homemade pizzas in a wood fired oven outside! What a great idea!

Motion sensor lights under the bed were just a tiny bit too bright but I love the idea!

The Stillwell is a gorgeous, modern property in an excellent location right near the heart of Carmel. The room (king room with view of the street) was gorgeous and clean. The bed and linens were so comfy. The room had a Nespresso machine and anything you would need for a comfortable stay. The property is on the small side, which I appreciate, and lovely style. Breakfast was delicious and thoughfully curated. They are super pet friendly and were so welcoming to our dogs. They even gave them little welcome bags with treats and a poop bag! Free parking is an added bonus as well. We appreciated everything about this place and the staff.

The hotel was located just a short walk from the main Carmel downtown area but still felt very private and secluded. The rooms were immaculate and true to photos, while the ambiance of the hotel,amenities and facilities were perfect with everything we needed. However, the top reason why we would come back is the service. Stilwell has one of the best service staff that we have ever experienced where they really make you feel that you are their top priority.

Hotel opened two weeks before my stay so everything was new and modern. Free breakfast that was not traditional continental fare and complimentary champagne at check in. No resort fees or parking fees and they allow dogs for a minimal fee. Very clean property located in middle of carmel so you can walk everywhere downtown. Friendly staff. Wonderful shower, bathroom and toiletries too.

In the courtyard area the music was a bit too loud late into the night and the outdoor lights should be dimmed after hours to not shine into room windows.

Beautiful new facility, warm welcome by staff, healthy varied breakfast options. Loved the fire pits and adjacent seating. Rooms are very nicely decorated.

Needed to request clean linens for the only open breakfast table. Muffins and scones were not great, and no option to toast the bread provided.

Excellent location very close to all the downtown Carmel amenities. The hotel is beautifully maintained and the staff are very friendly.

The breakfast wasn’t family friendly for our kids who wanted pancakes and waffles without the coconut flakes. They had a lot of healthy options for me but my husband and kids didn’t care for the food.

The only thing was the room was a bit small, we had a hard time openning our luggage in the room, besides that everything was superb
