Wonderful stay, it’s located quiet area just a few minutes walk from a local town shops and restaurants, maybe 15 - 20 mins walk to the beach. We definitely have intentions of staying again. We stayed in March definitely chilly but they have heater options, unsure of cooling AC? The free breakfast is a simple few options with eggs, sausages, and self serve waffle maker.

The parking situation is a little tight if you decide to park in front of the hotel, I would advise parking on the upper side of the property easier time going in and out. Not a big deal if you can reverse well in and out of tight spaces.

Had a King Room. Bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet. Only noise heard was from the cars when I opened the window. Super clean. Heat worked well. Very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, danish, bagel, toast, yogurt, fruit. Coffee and fresh cold water available all day, as well as there is a coffee pot in the room (which we didn't use). Forgot a hair brush and was given a comb. Great location on Ocean Avenue. Walk to all shops, restaurants and there is a deli/market around the corner. Beach is about 1/2 mile or so away. Very nice walk. It is uphill coming back. Pt. Lobos is about 3 miles away. Not alot of parking on site, but plenty on the street. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent, just at the edge of downtown so easy walking to everything in the Ocean Avenue center. The rooms were exceptionally clean. Enough plugs for cpap machine, all our chargers. The breakfast was ample with eggs, sausage patties, yogurt for protein foods as well as the usual cereals, bread and packaged pastries; and of course coffee and juice: included in the room price. Comfortable shower.

Not quite enough blanketry for me, but I found out that my husband turned off the heat. I had worn only medium sleepwear for a January stay, since most of my recent hotel rooms have been too warm. I could have called the desk for an extra blanket or turned on the heat myself. I would definitely return, with warmer pajamas and my tv blanket!

We just wanted to give a special shout out to Gita who was the front desk manager during our stay at the Comfort Inn Carmel-by-the-Sea. She was incredible during our stay and very welcoming. She was extremely helpful and friendly assisting us with parking. I also left my airpods in my room and did not realise until I was sat on my flight back to London. Gita was incredible and responsive to my emails. She also kept me updated and put my mind at rest. I would like whoever it may concern to be made aware of this exemplary employee.

The property is very convenient to walk to everything in Carmel by the Sea - even the beach. We loved the convenience of not having to have a car while in town on a holiday weekend. The accommodations were also good as I love a hotel room that doesn’t have a carpet and the flooring in these rooms you could tell was updated along with the bathroom.

We did hear a consistent beep like every 15 to 20 seconds in our room. We reported it to the staff on duty but they never followed up to check in on what it was. We finally got used to it, but maybe someone should check and see what that was as it may annoy other guests.

Perfect location in Carmel-by-the-sea: right next to all the shops, restaurants and tasting rooms. Room was comfortable and well appointed; average size, good TV, comfy bed. We were lucky and had patio chairs right outside our room (60).

Overall would recommend but a few minor negatives: Rooms were single-glazed with gap under the door, so loud when people walked by to get to other rooms (though in a quiet area so the outside/street noise was very low). Main noise issue was the building had very loud plumbing - so very loud when neighbours used their bathrooms or when the tank was filling (not sure which). Not sure it had air-con which would be an issue mid-summer. Very dodgy Wifi. Breakfast was a bit basic, and in a cramped room; we didn't bother with it as there is an amazing bakery in the village. Parking was limited; we managed to find a space fairly easily every day, but can imagine the road parking would be tricky in peak season.

Very close to downtown for walking the shops and seeing the local businesses and restaurants. Hot and cold breakfast options were good to get you going for the day. The outside of the hotel was charming and the half doors for the rooms were an unusual experience.

We had a family with children above us who seemed to be running constantly from the moment we got there straight through to the morning. The noise was very loud and unfortunately my husband has misophonia and this made it nearly impossible for him to rest after our long drive. The parking was tight although we eventually managed to find a spot. The room was quite small for four adults and luggage. The room only had a fan for cooling down. The fridge was very small and oddly shaped inside for leftover boxes and drinks.

Overall, great stay. We were upgraded to a ‘suite’ on arrival, which from what I could tell was just a larger room, still a nice extra. Breakfast is available however we didn’t try, so can’t comment there, plus there are quaint local places nearby along with a local deli/conscience store across the road. Hotel was clean, spacious with parking.

Parking was limited, but we didn’t struggle. Traffic noise if you are a light sleeper, and the aircon would go along way to improve things.

Friendly staff and the front desk was excellent and super helpful with directions about the area, especially to my wife because she had to find me after running the Big Sur Marathon, which was also coviniently located less than block from the bus boarding area to the race. The free breakfast was also excellent. I will come to this hotel from now on. Extra: Centrally located within walking distance to all shops and restaurants in Carmel

Good proximity to town, shops and the beach. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Bed was comfortable. Nice chairs outside to relax. Parking was available but limited.

No air conditioning or fans in the room. Windows did allow for cross ventilation but these were not opened when I arrived. There were some late night and early morning street noises from nearby hotels and cars/ trucks.
