Great place to stay for a visit to Greymouth. Outside it looks like a basic motel, but each room is clean, modern and has an excellent staff supporting it. Our family of four found this space perfect. Parents in the queen room, grandpa and grandson in the 2nd bedroom in twins. Small but useful kitchen, living room well sized and good TV options. Super kindness from the owners, appreciated the fresh milk and the recommendations on places to eat.

No negatives. Its at some level basic, but more than served our basic needs as a family. We were there for just one night prior to the Tranz Alpine train to Christchurch and we found it suited our needs perfectly. Great staff, good motel, no complaints.

It was an easy choice for me really, I booked at Alpine Rose due to the raving reviews and I can see why. The rooms are absolutely clean, the bedding lush. The rooms had everything we needed. I loved the fact that it was so close to New World which opened up options to cook. It was on the drop off/pick up path for our shuttle transfers to Paparoa Great Walk. The owners style over email and phone was so accommodating and immediately felt like an easy choice yet again. During our stay the owners were on leave, although they had a couple who offered the same sort of service and definitely delivered , going above and beyond our expectations. We spent a total of two nights here pre & post our great walk track. I know where I will be staying next time I'm in town. A sunset visit to the breakwater was a definite eye candy moment, as was a drop off / pick up to Speights for dinner & the train station, appreciated & valued. Thank you so much.

The staff were really friendly greeting us, explaining the room and local area, while having a nice chat with us on booking in. The apartment exceeded expectations with lots of space and all the facilities to be comfortable for an extended stay. The location was ideal with a supermarket a short walk away and then the main town centre further down the road. Although on the main road, the low speed limit meant it wasn’t overly noisy during the night.

Although Wi-Fi was provided, the routers appear to be in reception and the signal barely reached our room, low speed and dropouts were a bit of an issue.

great welcome from the hosts. The husband took us back to the train station the following morning to pick our hire car up. the location is a little out of the centre but a nice pub/restaurant nearby and a bakery.

The room had a small water tank But I forgot on the first night that the spa bath had a heating function on it 😅 Which was mentioned when shown the room ( Which was the only down side due to my forgetfulness )

The motel is located at SH 6 near a roundabout. Despite this, traffic noise was not disturbing. A supermarket is nearby, everything else is within a few minutes by car. The room was nice, modern and clean. Bathroom was good, the kitchenette had everything that is needed. The aircon was quiet and effective. The bed was comfortable.

Exceptional customer service from the owners/managers, we were warmly greeted and the time taken to show us around our room and recommend local dining options. Rooms were well kept with good facilities, comfortable and warm.

The owners were very friendly and helpful with advice about the area. It was terrific to be able to charge the car on-site. The kitchenette was good, with a great stove/oven.

Found the beds a little firmer than usual and the couch backrests needed boosting with pillows. That said, it didn't really take away from a great stay.

As soon as we walked into the reception we were immediately welcomed by the owners. They made us feel comfortable right up until we left. The room was spacious and the facilities were ample. The room was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable.
