Room was nice and beds were comfortable. The lobby staff were kind and helped us find the Chiayi night market close to the central square (about 8 minutes walk from the hotel). In the heart of the city and an easy walk to and from Chiayi Train Station. NOTE to people who don't know: HSR Chiayi Station and Chiayi Station are two different stations and are separated by a 20-minute bus ride. We had thought that "close to the station" meant "close to the HSR Chiayi Station" but we were surprised!

The location is excellent, an easy 5min walk to Chiayi Station, and the hotel had a nice breakfast. While the hotel is older in style, our room and beds were comfortable. We did some laundry on our first night and there was lots of room on the clothes rack to hang and dry our clothes - reception provided more coat hangers on request.

The room did not have any view (it was facing the building next door). This was not a deal breaker though - we didn't need a view and we also experienced this at another hotel in Taiwan. The breakfast ultimately pushed the rating to 8/10!

It was fairly easy to walk to the hotel after exiting from Chiayi Train Station.  Just keep left and cross the main road, walk a short distance up and turn left.  The sign of the hotel is not very visible so need to depend on Google Map. Check in was smooth and they only issued one room key. Room was OK and can accommodate our 2 luggages.  Bed was comfy and there were side tables beside the bed.  Only 1 side table had the power outlets for charging. Breakfast was served at level 1 and the array of food was sufficient.  Do go at 6.30am because there were large groups of people on tour and food was wiped out quite quickly.

There is a bathtub and showering is in the tub.  It is quite deep and fortunately there was a shower curtain holder which I used as a grab bar to get in and out of the tub.  For weak elderly, this may be challenging.

Excellent reception service to help coordinate our transport for 5pax to Budai Harbour (towards Penghu) and back. The reception team made sure to LINE text me to check the correct driver has picked us up from the crowded Budai Harbour area (many local passengers exiting after a long weekend holiday). Excellent bathtub, hot water, tap design, new toilet bowl lid, hairdryer and complimentary tea bags to be served in porcelain cups. Breakfast had a reasonable spread of warm Chinese food. If not, the Family Mart convenience chain store right across the road sells cheese, chilled coffee and snacks.

The surfaces in the room and bathroom were clean, although we didn’t fancy some of the older furniture with fabric parts.

-Obviously, the location is amazing (5 min walk to the train station, which is perfect as an overnight In Chiayi to get up early for Alishan) -Good WiFi -Offered free breakfast (but I didn't eat it) -Lobby was super nice -All amenities included

-The "double room" is actually two twin sized beds put together. Nothing really wrong with that, it's just something to note. -A bit stale/old style, but not a dealbreaker for this price.

The location was perfect near the railway/bus station, was ideal for me to grab a early daytrip to Alishan. At the moment of checkout tyfoon Kong-rey landed and no normal trains were in service, they informed the best way to travel to Kaoshiung and were very helpfull.

There's a no smoking policy. But the room smelled like it was smoked in, maybe a leftover from the past.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We like the breakfast as many vegetarian choices. The location is easy to find from the Chiayi train station and also walking distance to the night market and Smartfish.

The hotel is rather dated but well maintained. Could do with some renovations especially the shower area is not separated hence the whole bathroom floor will be usually be wet after a shower.

The location is very convenient and easy to walk around the major attractions in town including the Wen Hua Night Market, and the Old Tiles Museum. Breakfast is great too. The staff is very responsible and friendly because they contacted us after suspected we left some goods in the room.

Some of the facilities in the hotel are rather old but not that bad because pretty well-maintained. We came back to the town (Chiayi) after the Alishan trip and the hotel was fully-booked, therefore we needed to get 2 rooms. It would be great if they allowed us to have an extra bed in 1 room instead of having 2 rooms.

Breakfast - wish they had a few dishes that catered to non-local guests Room - smelled a bit musty when we first got there, but it didn't really bother us (wasn't a deal breaker)

Hotel room is great, hotel lobby is spacious, opposite is 7-11 or family mart. Bed is comfy.

We got one room with bathtub and the other room is standing shower with no shower curtain, so the whole bathroom cum toilet is wet, suggest hotel at least have a shower curtain.
