Green Hotel is just a short walk from Chia Yi Train Station and also close to Wen Hwa Road, a bustling street full of delicious food options. Even though it’s on the street, our room was surprisingly quiet. We booked a slightly bigger room, and for the price, it was such a steal! The bed sheets and pillows were super comfy, the shower pressure was great, and the room had everything we needed. The staff were really friendly and adorable—just like most Taiwanese people we’ve met! They recommended 豆奶攤 for breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, in this city area, there’s no need for hotel breakfast since there are so many amazing options nearby. We’ll definitely stay here again next time, especially if we’re planning a trip to Alishan!

Great location where you can get a valuable parking lot space close to the Wenhua market and train station for NT 100 per day on Guangcai Street. I stayed on the 10th floor in a two bed double for 3 days and then on the 9th floor in a "deluxe" double with 1 queen bed on a Friday. Both were clean and bright, but I would say that it's not worth paying for "deluxe" as it was basically the same as the basic room. The first 3 days were a spectacular value, the last Friday, not so much. The staff I think are 24 hours and always helpful.

I read reviews that some rooms have tubs and it's shown in the photos. Even when I booked a "deluxe" room, there was no tub.

Amazing stay, especially for the price! The room was extremely spacious, modern and clean. I will really miss the comfy bed. The staff, even though having limited English skills, was very helpful and kind. I also really appreciate the urge of the hotel to be sustainable - rooms were only cleaned when asked for (there was a convenient button inside the room to signal the wish for it) and they didn't offer too many single-use products that would just be thrown out afterwards. The hotel is located close to the Chiayi train station, a night market and several shops and restaurants.

We had a great experience staying here. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, which made for a very comfortable stay. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade, which was a lovely touch. The front desk staff were fantastic—patient, helpful, and full of useful advice on how to travel around the area. They went above and beyond to answer all our questions.

The only downside was the location. While it’s advertised as a 10-minute walk from the train station, it actually took longer, especially when carrying luggage. This could be better communicated to manage expectations for travelers with heavy bags. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay if you don’t mind a slightly longer walk to the station. The excellent service and comfortable rooms make it well worth considering.

Aircon was effective and it was nice to have a chair/desk in the room, as well as the bed. The bathroom was particularly well equipped. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was very good for train station, scooter rental, restaurants and night market. I liked the water filter on each floor, rather than water bottles, this was a nice touch.

Was quite a lot more expensive than other rooms, of a similar standard, in the same area. Not sure how green it actually is. Lights/Aircon etc stay on when you go out if you forget to turn them off. No recycling facilities, just a bin in the room.

Central Chiayi, spacious and clean room (except the fungus in the bathroom), nice facilities and comfortable bed. They made an effort to make this into a nice place to stay. Water machine on all floors. Car parking included on a very nearby parking.

The shower water was unpredictable to regulate into a confortable temperature and the toilet is too small for an everage Northern European person

The staff was super friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfy. I had the best sleep in a long time, it was a shame that I only stayed for one night. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the train station and is very close to the night market. I actually walked to most of the sites within the city. I will not hesitate to stay here again next time.

A room more than excellent. All my friends and kids love its location, easy to access on foot from train station and walkable distance to all sightings and the night market. Free storage for our backpacks, and this lovely hotel offers one wonderful coffee area for us cooling down from the summer heat. We will definitely pick it again!

Green hotel has suitable, clean rooms with filtered water on each floor. Nice coffee shop on first floor. When I accidentally left my room key, the vendor called the hotel and the staff retrieved it for me! As my husband also had a key, I had not even missed yet. Above and beyond service! Luggage storage available.

Location is excellent. Near the Chaiyi train station, Wenhua Night Market, ZhongShan shopping street and many, many local mom& pop eateries. Walkable to Train Garden and Hinoki Village. Room is modern and clean.

Staff were cold and not helpful. They do not talk to you or offer information even when you ask questions, assume you are not there and would carry on watching their - whatever they are watching - on their work TV monitors (not even on their handphones). All interactions were functional and transactional in nature. They don't even smile or acknowledge your presence. Either not well trained, not motivated or must have had a very bad dressing down by their bosses.
