Rosie at reception welcomed us with a big smile and nothing was too much trouble as she explained about parking and as we were early she took our cases and then phoned us later when our rooms were ready with cases already in room The room was spotlessly clean, bed was really comfortable, tea coffee biscuits on side and toiletries in bathroom The food was excellent and portions huge both in The tavern and at breakfast. All the staff were pleasant. The hotel was in a central position, we were attending a wedding nearby and Rosie organised a taxi for us. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and will definitely return

Good sized room, which was clean and comfortable apart from it being rather warm. Facilities downstairs were good with polite and attentive staff. Secure parking to the rear. Nice powerful shower, too. Town Centre is a bit limited for places to eat, but we did find an Indian Restaurant within a 10 min walk on the edge of town that was pretty good.

I had a room facing the main square and was within metres of a large pub. The music from there went on till midnight. Then the locals started their antics, as they do, so I had a disturbed night until about 3 am. Not the hotels fault. Just the way things are these days.

HAVING STAYED IN MANY HOTELS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS AT A PRICE SLIGHTLY BELOW AND MORE EXPENSIVE ABOVE YOUR HOTEL .I THINK WHEN ASKED THIS QUESTION THAT A GREAT MANY HOTELS IN THE PAST 30 YEARS HAVE NOW REACHED A GREAT BASE LINE WHERE ONE CANNOT FIND A DISLIKE BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY CONTINUE THIS EXCELLENT ONWARDS AND UPWARDS JOURNEY

On arrival we decided to upgrade our room, we wanted a view of The Diamond. This was accommodated with the minimum of fuss. The room was spacious and comfortable in a home-from-home kind of way. We loved the family-run feel about the place, the staff were warm and helpful, the bar/dining area had a buzz of activity. The food was excellent in this hotel, with plenty of choice to suit my vegatarian diet. One meal in particular, a green puy lentil dahl with rice and coconut yoghurt, was the most delicious meal I have eaten in a long time. Prices are reasonable, food is served fresh and hot. Delicous cooked breakfasts too, served in the enclosed Courtyard area.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about the Westenra Arms (except perhaps that I kept misspelling the name!). We hadn't visited Monaghan before and really liked the town. We are very likely to go back and will stay at the Westenra Arms on our next visit too.

The hotel is so central and convenient for shops, restaurants, walks. The staff were so friendly! Myself and my friend got a very early check in at 11:30 without even having to ask. Easy accesable free off the main street. Lobby had a lovely aymosphere, chill during the day but wonderful lively vibe at night. Inhad lunch in the lobby/bar and it was very well presented and tasty. Bedroom was traditional, perfect size and had all we needed. The mugs provided for coffee were decent sized and not the typical small ones. Biscuits and water provided also. Room was warm and clean.

We couldnt sleep until after 3am with the noise from people partying downstairs/outside. Very lively spot with great night life but unfortunately my friend and I were there for a relaxing shopping break and not the night scene. We should have joined in the craic really. Breakfast was disappointing.

Very professionnel and most helpful personnel. The food at the Hotel's restaurant was very good and the breafast was ...just exceptional. We needed a storage place for our bikes and without much ado, someone from the reception told us that they had been taken care of...while we were unpacking our luggages in our room. Just like in the old days, a coach stop would have provided oats for their client's horses (incidently, we call our bikes: our "little horses"). .

The room was not as good as we were expecting. It was room 208 - no real window in it - it was a triple room. Possibly the worst room in the Hotel??? Maybe because I booked it via Hotels.com??? But again the staff were excellent, but really disappointed with the quality of the room.

The Westenra hotel is in the town centre & a great base to explore the neighbouring towns. On arrival the staff at reception were very friendly & helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable & spacious. Tea, coffee & biscuits were provided, which was lovely just to settle in & rest before exploring the town. The meal in the evening was delicious with a good varied menu & the breakfast the next morning, again delicious, set us up for the day. Checking out at 12 .was a nice bonus so no early morning rush.

As we were only staying one night we had everything we needed so couldn,t fault the hotel.

Nice selection of food for breakfast and helpful to start at 8am. Good location and easy to get to plus hotel has easy access to parking. All very straight forward, the staff from booking in to serving in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.

We were quite tired after an early start from the UK so up since 3am, there was a function taking place in another part of the hotel and our room was at the front. It seemed the pickup area was at the front so there was a lot of noise during the night which work us up which was a shame.

This was an amazing hotel! Perfect location for our needs, right in town and next door to a fantastic pub "The Squealing Pig" where our event was taking place and not far from our family gathering in Rockcorry. (BTW the Squealing Pig was very accomodating to our very Vegan daughter and her infant son); The staff at the hotel was pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was fantastic with a full menu of options The town has a nice mall and shopping options; we had our laundry done down the street and back the same day if you get it there early. The Monaghan Museum was fantastic (they are moving to a new location down the street. The restaurants were great and we especially were impressed with 'Eastern Balti House' with the best service and great food!

All of my family members really enjoyed staying there. We had 3 rooms and all were wonderful. I think one room the windows could not open easily.
