Good location, walk to town easily. Spacious rooms, very clean and tidy

Poor quality of food in the restaurant. We had dinner with our family and found the restaurant to be over priced and very average, poor quality food. The menu also had limited options available. Small portion sizes too. Very disappointing restaurant overall unfortunately.

Breakfast very good , traditional irish .Staff very friendly .Good sized bedrooms, iron and ironing board in room. Rooms very quiet.No objections raised when my party produced a PIPER who played Danny Boy in my honour in the public bar/loungeat 11 pm . The Shirley commands a strong presence within the local area, especially since the Nuremore hotel and spa has closed

shower mat not in shower ,had to ask , showers very slippery also could do with grab handles in the showers as I am disabled .

The staff were amazing. A strong team focus and exceptional in their customer hospitality. The food was superb and the breakfasts delicious. I liked the location in the town which was close by to everything.

Not so much not liking as I found the shower difficult to navigate in the bathroom. The heat control was very stiff and for an elderly person quite difficult to use. Not a deal breaker but it was the only thing that was slightly amiss.

Fantastic location for the wedding I was attending, the breakfast is world class. Caroline in the bar area was superb.

The receptionist on 16/7 & 17/7 could have been more helpful, she was not approachable and never once smiled.

We arrived early as had to change for a wedding and reception very kindly let us check in a few hours early so that we could get ready in our room. We were accommodated to leave luggage with reception at checkout also Breakfast was perfect and staff were friendly and courteous Beds were so comfortable!

Decor was a little bit dated but rooms were very spacious and clean

All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and nice and modern. We were very pleasantly surprised as the rooms were even nicer in person compared to the photos online. The reception staff were also lovely and helpful in arranging us some taxis to be able to get to and from the wedding we were attending nearby

Nice modernised coaching inn.Exce;;ent very large bedroom with well appointed bathroom.All mod cons.Excellent restaurant and bar and good free parking behind the hotel.Excellent breakfast.Very good front desk.

Beer/lager choice a bit limited/old fashioned for such a 'posh' Hotel.

We have stayed here many times and as usual the staff are beyond pleasant and helpful!Breakfast is extremely good at the Shirley!Location is excellent!

We stayed in a smaller room than usual. The room was lovely but the bed and pillows were just a little less comfortable than usual.

Excellent service - all the staff were incredibly helpful and kind! They went above and beyond to help us with our requests - we appreciated that greatly. The included breakfast and the hotel restaurant were delicious - all ingredients were fresh, high-quality and good portions.

Super friendly staff, from the welcoming receptionist to the serving staff at breakfast- all very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent, with generous space and lovely ensuite. Location in the middle of Carrickmacross was perfect. Breakfast choices very good and food lovely. A wonderful stay...we will return.
