Breakfast was lovely and staff very nice. Didn't care for where or room was situated we were at the back corner of building and the constant hum from the factory above was a little annoying, we had hoped for a room with the view of the lake which was one of the reasons we picked hotel, a a paying guest we were disappointed about that tbh. Overall staff could not be faulted very nice but I'd only stay again if we didn't have a view of road and cattle with the added factory but a room with a decent view of the scenery and the lake.

The room was lovely and spacious as was the bathroom. Mattress was really comfortable and it was lovely to have a balcony. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were super friendly both on the floor and at the reception desk.

There wasn't too many bad things about our stay however our shower leaked quite a bit and I'm not sure is it because it was a wheelchair accessible one or not. Two other small things with our breakfast was the salt on the hash browns was very very salty and butter was a bit scarce! All in all a fantastic stay otherwise!

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was beautiful we ate dinner and had breakfast the next morning. Place is spotless clean Beautiful location right on the lake.

Bedroom was a little bit dated with mismatch furniture. Our room was right beside the door to corridor so banged all night with people coming and going. Also didn’t like the shower it was an accessible one and it was very awkward to get in and out of as it had a shower curtain too? There was no obvious sign for reception when we arrived from the car park.

The breakfast menu was really extensive with something for everyone. The buffet was small but perfectly formed with lovely fresh fruit, pastries, cereal and yoghurt. We had two lovely Americano coffees and a lovely big pot of tea for one was served and refreshed by the staff.

The outside area was a little rough around the edges. The car park has quite a number of pot holes and the entrance way into the hotel and the main door was a little hard to spot. The view was fabulous though and we would have loved to have had a longer walk around the lake but unfortunately that wasn't possible.

Clean, with an old-school refined charm. Staff were good fun, efficient, and very welcoming - hotel is a well-oiled machine! Our rooms were ready early which was great as we were heading into day 2 of a wedding and needed a place to chill out for a few hours beforehand. Breakfast was v good, lake view was a treat to wake up to, and the coffee shop next door is fantastic.

Minor note, but for the price we paid it would have been great to have some bottled water/basic refreshments in the room

We had a lovely stay here at Lakeside Manor. We were staying the night before we went to a wedding nearby. Our room was lovely with a balcony and a beautiful view of the lake. It was extremely clean with a very big comfortable bed, powerful shower in the ensuite and beautiful smelling toiletries. There was an iron and a hair dryer which I was very glad of. The room was very well supplied with sockets in all the places we needed. We had food in the bar area in the evening and that was very tasty, typical bar food. And the breakfast in the morning again was perfect, served to us by friendly helpful staff. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. It way exceeded our expectations, which was such a bonus. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Nothing we didn't like

The location is beautiful, not sure if the lake is ok for swimming but I was certainly tempted. It's a 5 minute drive from Virginia town centre which translates to a 45 minute walk (it's a main road so perhaps not a straight walk) and I'm not sure about the taxi services although I heard they stopped at 9pm. I wasn't expecting much but the bed was really comfortable, the place was really warm and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in and the next day they even went as far as to leave us a breakfast pack up each (very early flight) which had fruit, yoghurt, cheese and pastry. I was thrilled. The decor was quite quirky it sort of reminded me of a place you'd hold a murder mystery event but I quite enjoyed that, definitely not bland and the reception area had comfy seats and a great view. The staff are what make this place, even if for some reason you weren't happy with something you'd soon forget it because of how you'd been treated by the staff. The rooms had tea and coffee facilities and plenty of towels, and the family rooms are really spacious. You've even got Netflix on the tv for those who feel the need. I didn't get a chance to eat here so I can't comment on the food but next time I'm in the area I would definitely stop by either to stay here or to try the food. Thank you to all the staff who went above and beyond!

The drinks are on the expensive side in the bar.

The Hotel was in a wonderful location, with lovely views of the lake. The bedroom was fairly spacious and the king size bed was one of the most comfortable that we’ve ever slept in. We shared a scrumptious Porterhouse steak and the portion was plentiful. The tasty Irish breakfast set us up for the day. Finally the staff could not have been more helpful and made for a truly memorable stay. 

We were quoted 10 euros for a taxi to Virginia Park Lodge (1.83 miles away). However a local taxi driver tried to charge us €20 each way, so just be aware.

We where up for the weekend and stayed there as my mother is from cavan. Loved the view, rooms bar area breakfast lunch dinner was all beautiful. We will be back very soon xxxc

Couldn't get water for the room after we came in from the town. Porter said bar area was closed. The was disappointing as we where parching.

The location is fabulous with a beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment both inside and out. Staff were very welcoming and professional. Food was excellent.

The hotel is in a time warp and in need of a complete refurbishment. The bedroom was comfortable but the air conditioning was very noisy so it was difficult to sleep. The view from our bedroom was unsightly as our room was facing the main road at the rear of the hotel and was in need of a tidy up. The bathroom en-suite is in need of a refurb.
