We have stayed numerous times in the past. Last time we had a problem and we were given a voucher by family member Olivia and asked to make ourselves known on our next vist, which we did. A lovely surprise met us in the room - a bottle of bubbly on ice. Well done Olivia & team! Thank-you. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming. And the new breakfast arrangement in the bigger room is a blessing.

Not a criticism, but could you add Bran flakes to your cereal choices please? The bedroom furnishings perhaps could do with a bit of updating. The baths are tiny and hard to get out of. The shampoos etc are placed high up out of reach, should you choose to take a bath. Maybe they could be repositioned nearer to bath level please. These are only suggestions - the Hotel is lovely & affordable. We look forward to our next visit.

I love the Headfort Arms. I travel every year with my daughters to visit my partners/their father's grave . My partner was born in Kells so the place has such significance for my daughters and their family history. The Headfort Arms has such a lot of history too, is a place that you automatically feel at home and relaxed in and the staff are helpful and warm. The breakfast is amazing.

The upper rooms only have a lift to the first floor so if you had mobility problems or was elderly, you could struggle. We have had the same room by chance located on the upper floor for the last two years and I stated in a previous review that simple things like bulbs not working and dust/ hand prints on the ceilings/walls you don't expect from such a grand looking building. The bulbs were not working last year, yes I know bulbs blow but these are spotlight bulbs that last years so I just don't think they have been replaced.

We had an amazing stay here! The staff was really friendly, the room was spacious, the beds were really good, the breakfast was super. It was great to have free parking space from the hotel!

Our room was right across the room with all the clean sheets/towels/... where the staff would work from to clean the rooms. So sleeping in was not an option, since that was too noisy (and I'm a light sleeper). The room was a bit too warm (no airco but that is as to be expected in Ireland, I don't think airconditioning is to be found in any of the hotels ^^), and the bathroom a bit outdated. As for the breakfast: it was really great, but the second morning we were a bit later to join (9.15/30 appr.), and most of the more popular fruits were already gone. All smaller things of notice though, not any big issues!

Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, strawberries were locally grown and were delicious, cooked breakfast served hot. We had one evening meal which again was lovely and the biscoff sundae was delicious. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed during the heatwave, as is normal in Ireland there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms however a fan was supplied unfortunately it was chained to the wall so wasn’t very effective during the night. Power points at bedside are needed.

Huge rook and bathroom, with a super comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely fireplace in the room too! Slept so well. Breakfast menu in the morning was excellent and the service great! Check-in and out was quick, with friendly staff. I didn’t use the bar/restaurant in the evening but it’s beautiful inside and clearly very popular with visitors and locals, which was a great atmosphere to walk through from the car park too. Will definitely return when next in the area!

The Headfort Arms is very well run hotel in a friendly town. All the staff were polite and attentive. The room was huge, with lots of space to circulate despite the fact that we had a sofa and armchair to relax in! Breakfast was of a high quality and very plentiful. (We also ate at the associated bar next door and enjoyed that immensely.) Set in a fabulous location with a free car park, it really is a great place to stay!

Excellent full Irish breakfast as well as other choices; hotel very central with good access to free parking; spacious, comfortable room. We stayed twice, for one night each time. The second room was at the front and had a nice view. Both rooms were quiet, so we got a good night’s sleep on each occasion. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel was excellent value for money and we would certainly stay there again.

It is hard to fault this hotel at its price point.

Food and drink in the bar are excellent and reasonably priced. Staff very helpful, and they also came out with a candle in our dessert for my partners birthday. Room spacious, comfortable, and had all necessities available. Bed comfortable. Parking in private carpark behind the hotel. Chilled water is available from dispensers in the hallways all day. Location just a few minutes from town centre.

Not much to dislike as anything bad was insignificant or else seemed as though there was an alternative available. Air conditioning unit did not seem to function at all, but there was a plug in fan in the room which we used instead. Some general bits of wear and tear to paintwork, skirting and such like that may want to be tended to, did not affect us but might annoy others of a more agitatable disposition.

Having stayed at the hotel before, I already knew what to expect. Kells is a beautiful place & the hotel facilities are great. Myself & my two daughters shared a room with three beds. The beds are so comfortable! There are coffee/tea making facilities in your room. Fresh towels, toiletries are provided. The maid service & fresh towels are offered daily. The breakfast options at Cafe Theresa are plentiful & staff are friendly, attentive & helpful. We were asked if we wanted tea or coffee before ordering & the waiting staff gave you time to choose your breakfast whilst they got your drinks. We ate at the hotel during the evening once during our three night stay & we all enjoyed our meals. It is in a great location & access to Dublin airport via bus is almost outside the hotel. We had yet another lovely stay at the Headfort Arms & hopefully will be back very soon.

Having stayed here before, but in different rooms, some of the rooms appear to be better maintained than others. Our room was on the top floor in the roof ( No 27) & though exceptionally clean, tidy, it did lack a bit of TLC. Silly things like electric bulbs being missing, paint peeling in the bathroom & cracked floor tiles. I love this hotel & will return, it just made me sad to see this during our stay as our other rooms had been perfect. Also, if you have mobility/breathing problems, please request a first floor room, as the lift only takes you to the first floor.

The Staff are fantastic, from the second we arrived until departure they could not do enough for us. Caroline at reception is exceptionally good at her job, made us feel like we were at home. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, the beds are so comfy and Beautiful handmade products in the bathroom. The food was fantastic and so many restaurants to choose from. It was such a relaxing stay, I would highly recommend this hotel
