My wife and I came here because the hotel literally has its own beach. Since we were traveling the ICW by kayak, we pulled the boat out and were immediately on the property. Easy! The staff was friendly, and very kind to us, even offering to help us out on certain things. The room was immaculate, and had an awesome balcony with chairs to sit outside and enjoy the sun. Too bad it was cold during our stay. They provided room service each day and generous portions of coffee. The bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. They had wheeled carts that made it easy for us to get our gear up the elevator to our room. The room had a little kitchenette with microwave and all sorts of cooking gear (which was of no use because there was not a burner 🧐). There was a lot of good storage in the room. The price was very good for what the room was.

Shower was often lukewarm

Loved the exceptional view while enjoyed my morning coffee on the balcony as I watched the ships and boats pass by. These condos are perfectly quiet, relaxing, and definitely well maintained! It truly was a pleasurable stay as I came to Southport to meet my biological family that lives here for the very first time. I honestly fell in love with everything about Southport! This will be my place to stay every time I come to visit my sweet family for future visits. Oh my. I almost forgot loved the pool and beach area as well. The condos even had its owned private pier to walk out on to enjoy a nice sunset.

Parking was a bit overwhelming. Just make sure to return early so you’re able to get a spot.

This is the best hotel ever. Perfect, clean, spacious, comfortable, and inviting rooms with a large bathroom (excellent water temp and pressure in shower & bathtub), full kitchen (with full fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, coffee maker, cups/plates/bowls/cooking utensils & cookware), big screen smart tv, large dresser/cabinet with beach towels, excellent indoor and natural light, great A/C unit, a dedicated workspace and fast Wi-Fi, a private balcony with a table and chairs, and personal touches “The Dream Team” provides to make you feel warmly welcomed. Awesome, excellently-maintained pool and outdoor shower to wash off sand after enjoying their quiet, private beach with incredible views you can enjoy by relaxing on provided lounge chairs and a wooden swing. Outdoor patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas to enjoy outdoor grilling and time with friends and family. Free parking with first-come-first-serve options if you want covered parking that is close to the steps and elevators. A great place for solo travelers, couples, and families. Also, this is *the* place to stay if you want to easily access (I did so on foot for the 4th of July parade and fireworks without dealing with traffic) downtown Southport and the waterfront parks and restaurants. Thank you for some of the best days of my life! So happy and grateful I chose this magnificent hotel! I absolutely loved everything about this place!!!!! I was skeptical booking a hotel bc we usually book a house when we travel but sadly we are less our fur baby this year :( so we didn’t need a house. I am soooo glad I booked this place! It was cleaner than any place I have ever stayed! It was in a great location! I’ve never felt so comfortable somewhere!! The ac was Amazing lol, that’s a big deal for me! And the fridge also worked beautifully! Again a big deal for me and my love of ice cold water!!! lol. We luckily never even saw a bug! Even with going out on the balcony none of the critters followed us in! And that’s another thing! The balcony was a huge plus! I can’t say enough about this place I loved it so much. Sadly we left and went to Charleston rented an air bnb and could not have been more disappointed with them and wish we could’ve still been in Southport. I will definitely come back to this hotel!

There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like. It’s a little creepy at night? Outside lol. We got there very late but that’s anywhere lol.

Absolutely the best 2 night stay I have ever stayed at. We loved our river view balcony. I literally sat out there for hours. Loved the pool and river beach. The pier was amazing as well. Loved the elevator that made it so easy. The beds were so cozy and the room was plenty big enough. I can go on and on but let’s just say we loved this place and Southport so much that we decided that’s where we want to retire at. The sunsets will literally melt your worries away! Absolutely breathtaking! All the food was good down there and the shops felt like family. Everyone was friendly! So yeah 10/10!

There is nothing that we did not like! We will be coming back for sure! Love to stay a week or so there next time!

Beach towels included, pool access, and beach access.

The rooms were clean, all the staff were friendly and it was fun looking for shells on their small (approximatley 50 yards wide?) river front beach and watching the ships go by. They have a nice pool and patio area.

It would be nice to have drinks and snacks in the office to purchase or a drink/snack machine located on the premise. The shops aren't far, so as long as you know this ahead of time, you can purchase these things elsewhere and bring them back to the room.

Very new and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Full size refrigerator and kitchenette. Cold A/C. Everything worked as it should. Office person was very nice when we arrived.

Cleaning staff left a tip envelope after the 1st day. They came in and tidied up and changed out towels the 1st couple of days and then just stopped. Nothing changed on our end. Left a tip each day!! It was just confusing more than anything. We really didn’t need service each day. It would have been nice to know so we could have gotten towels before the office closed. Also not sure if it was because we booked through Booking.com but they put us in the 1st level room closest to the street on the north east side of the building, closest to the office. Definitely no sleeping in!!!!

We loved everything about River Hotel! The pool was lovely with plenty of chairs. The beach was perfect…quiet and chairs available. Husband enjoyed fishing out on the pier and the huge patio had lots of tables and chairs… great for enjoying a meal outside! There is some covered parking but plenty outside too. The balcony was enjoyable to relax and had two comfortable chairs. It is close to town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Loved it!

There was nothing I’d change.

I loved the cleanliness of the rooms and location however according the the photos on the website I was expecting to be closer to oceanside. I was expecting to be able to hear the ocean from my room. Also the location was close to everything we needed to pick up for our trip.

I didn't like the alligator signs lol it made me a little nervous but I was thankful for the warning lol I thought the area would have be larger but with the signs I understood.
