Every single staff member is amazing at this hotel. A special shout out to Sumith who cleaned our room every day. The room was absolutely immaculate. Sumith was pleasant, professional and courteous. He made the most amazing animals out of our towels and it was a real highlight of our stay. Another shout out to Wjekoon from the restaurant - he makes fantastic coffee and as Australian's, we like our flat whites. Nothing was ever too much trouble and on our last day the staff had made up a romantic table for us right next to the pool. We will definitely be back and would prefer to never stay anywhere else.

Nothing. Everything is perfect at this hotel. Staff are warm and welcoming, friendly and professional. They remember all sorts of small details about us and we just love this place.

This stay was exceptional. The eye for detail of the staff was of the highest level possible. The manager came ask at breakfast several times how our stay is, if there was anything they could do for us, he invited us to have ‘high tea’ (free of charge), gave us a little snack box when we left. Extraordinary! Housekeeping was done by Thusitha, a very kind and professional man. The room was perfectly clean every day and he left little surprises such as flowers on the bed or the towels in the shape of elephants. Kaveesha and the rest of the front office and guest relations team were also exceptional and any small issue we had was handled immediately.

We stayed at the Golden Crown for 18 days. We chose this hotel as a base to explore the sights around Kandy. The hotel is a 30 minutes walk from the center of Kandy and Kandy Lake. The view from the room is very pretty, with hills covered by lush topical vegetation. The hotel is spacious and comfortable with an infinity pool and a well-equipped gym. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful, and it provides with a buffet breakfast as well as a buffet dinner. Food is great and varied, with a wide a selection of Sri Lankan, Indian and international food. In view of the length of our stay, we benefitted from an upgrade to a bigger room. The room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony The cleaning team was very good, and the best we have experienced in our stays in different hotels in South East Asia. Our stay at the Golden Crowne would not have been the same without Tharanga, from the hotel management, who was professional, attentive, and helpful. My wife was sick and he provided support and invaluable help, scheduling a visit to a local hospital to see a doctor and providing for a driver to take us there. He also advised and helped in organizing our visits to the most interesting sights around Kandy. Since we stayed in The Goden Crown hotel for so long, Elsworth, the General Manager, organised a beautiful and delicious farewell dinner for us on the hotel rooftop, where Ravi attended to our service. We highly recommend this hotel where we felt at home and well taken care of.

I really liked the welcome they give u, all staff properly trained on guest care, as I arrived Kavisha was very welcoming and throughout my stay she was inquiring n getting feedbacks plus the new wing rooms were super luxurious and has the vibe of a modern hotel! Food was excellent as well!

The Golden Crown Hotel did indeed exceed expectations. The suite was excellent, the restaurant offered an incredible range of food at breakfast and dinner - for people from many parts of the world.

The staff was nothing short of amazing across the board. From front desk to restaurant, concierge and driver, everyone was ready to go the extra mile. This made our experience truly memorable.

I had a fantastic stay and the Golden Crown in Kandy. I was attracted to the hotel based off of the pictures, particularly of the infinity pool and the scenic landscape behind it. I am pleased to share that the pictures don’t do it justice because the views are truly magical in person. From the moment that I checked in, I was welcomed by the staff who went out of their way to make my stay relaxing and enjoyable. First and foremost, I am truly grateful to Mihirini who greeted me at the restaurant and went above and beyond to ensure that I had an excellent stay! She also arranged an excursion through the hotel to Pidurangala Rock and Sigiriya Rock which I highly recommend! As I was doing for a sunrise hike, she arranged a packed breakfast for me to take which was so kind and thoughtful. The food at the Golden Crown is outstanding! I especially loved the Nasi Goreng! The food selection was wonderful. There was a wide variety of Sri Lankan dishes and I particularly enjoyed the curry and dhal. There were also a lot of western options. The food buffets were displayed beautifully each day and the desserts are not to be missed! I found all of the restaurant staff to be kind, helpful and welcoming. I am especially grateful to Moksha who looked after me at the restaurant and she also arranged a packed breakfast for me to take on the day that I checked out. The housekeeping staff were wonderful, especially Madusanka. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. It felt like a retreat with the spectacular infinity pool and the lush green hills and palm trees. I enjoyed watching the sunrise from the pool area and the sunsets were just as beautiful! I especially loved that the staff wore traditional Sri Lankan clothing. My only regret is that I wish I had booked a longer stay at this amazing hotel.
