We had a short but great stay at Ekho. Reception staff, especially Sachini, ensured we were well looked after including organising our breakfast packs for an early morning safari. Wish we had stayed a bit longer!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it! The location is fantastic, right on the lake bank, surrounded by beautiful nature and offering stunning views, especially at sunset. The pool area is also lovely, with amazing scenery all around. The food was – generous buffets with plenty of delicious options, and the opportunity to enjoy a barbecue with tables set right by the lake made the experience even more special. A big thank you to the staff, especially Sachini at reception, who was both professional and incredibly kind, making us feel welcome from the very beginning. The room had a nice view, with strong water pressure (a rare luxury in Sri Lanka), good ac. The hotel is organisibg safaris and even preparing packed meals to take away (optional) Overall, this hotel combines comfort, natural beauty, excellent service, and thoughtful details to create a truly memorable stay.

Nirosh (front desk) and Tina (spa) and staff did everything to make us comfortable and make our stay perfect. Nirosh arranged for extra bed to ensure we were comfortable. Also have us an amazing room with the view of the lake to make our stay memorable. We had an amazing buffet dinner that had enough variety to please everyone. We even got Kurrakan roti which is preferred for diabetics. The fish curry was delicious and there were so many fruits and options at breakfast and dinner. The spa was incredible, all parents wanted a foot reflexology and Tina was exceptional. We really liked our stay after a long safari and enjoyed the very clean pool with lake view a lot. I would highly recommend this hotel for their lovely staff, kind and generous chef and their team.

I’m so happy to share my feedback about Eco Safari Hotel! The entire experience was peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were exceptionally clean and hygienic, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. A special mention goes to Ms. Sachini at the reception—she gave a wonderful first impression with her polite and friendly attitude. Pavesha from the restaurant staff was also incredibly helpful, always attentive to guests’ needs. The food was absolutely delicious, a real highlight of the stay! The swimming pool area was well maintained, and lifeguard Sashmitha was very friendly and welcoming, always with a beautiful smile. Overall, full credit goes to the amazing staff and the management. It truly was a five-star experience!

Amazing location in front of the lake. The staff was really welcoming and available to help with any need we had. Especially the receptionist Sachini helped us in booking the Safari and a driver. We had a little issue with a lunch box they prepared for us for the safari but they offered us a complimentary dinner at the hotel restaurant to apologies for the incident. We also had an amazing massage at the spa.

The cleaning of the room and some areas of the hotel could be improved but in general one of the best hotel to stay in Tissa.

The staff were lovely! Warm and welcoming, helpful and efficient. Everyone we had contact with were great, in particular Sashini, Puspita, and Sahara. The pool is very nice, and the views over the lake are stunning, especially around sunset. The restaurant is nice and offers both a la carte, as well as a buffet option. We tried both options and we were very happy with the food and service. The rooms are very spacious, with a seating area and large bathroom. We were lucky enough to have a great view over the lake. The rooms are somewhat tired though, with some peeling paint, broken doors etc. Our bed was broken, but it was fixed within 30 mins of us reporting it. The hotel staff immediately said it would be fixed, if not fixed they would either change the beds or we could move rooms; which is excellent service.

This place is in an excellent position, overlooking the lake, about 30 to 40mins drive from the entrance of Yala national park. My room was large with a big bathroom and great views. It looks like all rooms overlook the lake. Nice open plan reception and lounge/bar area. The hotel is well-staffed with a very friendly and efficient team. I’m thankful for Sachini, who was able to arrange a morning safari at Yala for at short notice. It was with a local firm and at good price with pickup and drop off at the hotel.

We did get really sick when we were here after the buffet (cannot prove that is was this 100%). The pool could have been a little cleaner

The location on the lake was beautiful and you could watch the sunsets from the sun lounges or pool. The pool was great! It’s close to Yala national park for the safari. The staff were friendly.

The food was a little pricey compared to other places I’ve stayed, and there wasn’t a huge menu. As a solo fender traveller You couldn’t really walk nearby in the evening to other restaurants as it was quite isolated, so that meant paying more to eat at the hotel.

This place seems to be a serious hotel in the past, and now way after its peak. It's not neglected or dirty - but could use a serious modern lift up. It still offers an efficient reception that can arrange safari tours and taxis for you, it has a decent swimming pool with lake views which was fun, as there's not much to do in town except for safari. We did not have any meal there and frankly did not notice a dining room to know if it's even possible, but they packed a generous breakfast for our 5am safari departure. Value for money is OK. Nice views to the lake from the room. A walking distance to the best restaurant in town - Chef Lady, highly recommended.

It just gives you the feel of 1990s. I usually prefer the small private places that offers better facilities for cheaper price, but it's definitely a reasonable option. Tissa center (with ATMs) is not within a walking distance, take a tuk tuk.
