November 2024

I had a four day stay at hotel Irisa during a short vacation in Bucharest together with my working colleagues. The staff was very kind and helpful, especially the receptionist who helped us at 3 or 5 o'clock in the morning (these early hours do to our flight times). We got the breakfast packed so we could take it with us in the mornings when we had to go away early. The food was great, both the breakfast and dinner, really delicious Romanian food. The bed was very comfortable and cleaning service was available every day. The hotel, the restaurant and the staff gave me a cosy and familiar feeling (especially the restaurants atmosphere, it reminded me a lot of the restaurants in the 90's). The location is good, a 10 minute walk from the Victoria subway station, the Antipa Museum and the Museum of the Romanian Peasant.

What I liked less was the air conditioning that was loud and inefficient. Luckily our visit was in October and it was a pleasant temperature outside so I had the window open at night.

Located in a very quiet neighbourhood, at least during hours I stayed there, night and early morning, the hotel is at a 10 minutes walk from Victoria Square and from there not more than 15 to 20 min to the city center. The room is a bit old fashioned as an evironment but cosy enough, clean and the bed really comfortable with big pillows which I really appreaciated, acceptable rich breakfast and fresh squized orange juice. The restaurant has a nice terrace where I had a very delicious dinner !

the staff, although quite kind, very frowning, never smiling, you don't know if they are angry with you or with their life !

Buffet breakfast, laundry/cleaning service, nice terrace and the old charm of the common spaces.

The vacuum cleaner should also do the carpet underneath the beds, other than that everything was ok.

If you like traditional hotels, this hotel is for you. I enjoyed the fancy white cloth tables at the restaurant, etc. All in all, it is rather comfortable and good value for money

The staff (except for the waiters in the restaurant) wasn't very friendly, but that's pretty standard in Eastern Europe, so in a way it adds up to the experience

We stayed there for five days. I really liked the clean and spacious room, as well as the cleaning service and fresh towels that were changed every day. Breakfast was also decent: boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, buns and bread, ham, sausages, cheese, vegetables, pastries, plant-based yogurt, granola, and cereals. The service in the restaurant was average. I recommend providing an English menu because it is inconvenient to translate everything using Google. The food in the restaurant was very tasty. I would also like to see more smiles on the faces of the hotel staff. Otherwise, everything was great.

Everything was great

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed throughout our stay. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast had a great selection - the food and drink available was of good quality. The location was very convenient - not too far from the centre of Bucharest by public transport or cab and a short ride to the therme spa in the opposite direction (which was the main reason for our trip). All and all, my partner and I were very happy - we would definitely book this hotel again in the future.

The room was very warm. Even with the heating off it was very warm and dry. We had to keep the window open at all times.

Everything is exceptional: superb building, classic, nice and quiet neighbourhood, super trained and polite staff, huge room, huge bathroom, alot of toiletries, bath robes and slippers, beautiful and comfortable furniture, coffee and tea making facilities, minibar, . Restaurant has beautiful classic setting, the terase is like paradise full of natural flowers, nice and tasty food, fresh pastries, exceptional staff. We felt at home away from home.

Nothing to complain, everything exceptionally good.

Very good, extensive breakfast the first two days, but scaled back on Sunday and Monday, and they only had the muesli with chocolate pieces in it. The omelettes were very nice. Lots of pastries available. I had an evening meal one day, just a greek salad, but it was absolutely lovely. My room was a great size, with a large very comfortable bed.

The filter coffee was not great - I would have liked hot milk with it to make it less bitter, cold coffee isn’t great.
