The hotel was a bit more expensive than can be found along I90 in Tacoma; however, I chose this hotel because it is 2.5 mile from my nephew's home - the reason for our visit to Gig Harbor. I was very happy to have made that choice. It was easy getting around and I didn't have to navigate an unfamiliar area driving back and forth across from Tacoma. My traveling companion was a niece from CA. Gig Harbor has a homey feel to it - at least in the locations we found ourselves. Because we were driving from the Central Basin and there is a LOT of roadwork going on, we left for Gig Harbor early in the morning and were extremely lucky in that we experienced none of the slow downs on I90 and at Hwy 18, resulting in an earlier arrival than expected. The hotel graciously granted us an early check-in time, but we still needed to kill some time before checking in. We found a paved walking trail close to the hotel and went for a long walk. At the trailhead, during daylight hours, there is access to a well-maintained public restroom. At check in and throughout our overnight stay, the hotel staff were professional, friendly and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but our room was clean with comfortable beds. The hotel itself was set back away from the street and was very quiet. The beds were comfortable. The HVAC was a window unit that was quiet and worked well. There was a welcome table with iced water and other hot drinks. There was also a mini store in the lobby area with snacks and cold drinks. Since we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel and didn't use other facilities/amenities, I cannot comment on those services, though it's good to know there is a guest laundry for future reference. Within a short distance from the hotel are all sorts of restaurants and other shopping opportunities. It was easy to navigate around the area. I'd very happily stay here again.

In our short stay, overnight, we didn't find anything we didn't like. There are meeting rooms and other facilities/amenities that we didn't use and cannot evaluate.

The staff at the front desk was amazing and super friendly/helpful! The room was big, clean and comfortable :)

I was finishing my breakfast and the staff member who cleans the breakfast turned the lights OFF on me at exactly 10am. She left me sitting in the dark to finish the last bites to then start taking the food away. She also overheard me saying I would refill my coffee on the way out and the first thing she took away was the coffee. The whole thing felt weird and a little passive aggressive for no reason lol. Which was a shame, because the rest of the staff was great!

We liked the comfort, size and cleanliness of the rooms, beds and bedding were all comfortable and very reasonable pet fee. Our rooms did not have a view, but the location was close enough to the beautiful waterfront. When we go back, we will try the cider place and brewpub next door. Staff was friendly and helpful. We thought the English muffins were especially good at breakfast.

There could have been less waste since there was lots of individual packaging at breakfast and all the cups in the rooms were disposable. The elevator was a bit slow and had wait time at 9 am. The stairs were accessible as an option.

Breakfast was good, the staff person taking care of breakfast was amazing! So sweet, always checking to see if she could help and making sure we were all taken care of. Our room was huge as well as the bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Having airport shuttle for airport pick us up right there was awesome!!

Not always someone at the front desk, elevator was dirty, but with remodeling going on can understand some dirt, but for 3 days it was dirty, should have been cleaned each night.

The staff (front desk, housekeeping, breakfast) were all exceptionally friendly and helpful! Building and room were very clean and nice. The location is great for getting around town. Breakfast was very good. It was quiet. The fitness room was small but clean and had enough equipment (all clean and working!).

There is no pool, no cafe or shop. Mid July prices are a bit high. But it was a very nice stay!

We mostly enjoyed our extended stay but we did have some sad personal issues to deal with. It was nice to come "home" at the end of stressful days and relax in our executive room. O'Looneys Irish pub just 100 yards away was a great place to chill out too!

The big issue that caused a deal of stress was when we discovered that we had been charged TWICE for our room (nearly US$2500 times 2!!!!!). It took some effort to rectify the problem and we are still waiting for a refund for 2 nights from booking.com.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good proximity to restaurants, stores and the harbor. Spacious room with walk in closet and fireplace. Very clean - the housekeeping staff are visible and helpful. The coffee was quite good, although breakfast could be better.

Breakfast was basic: the eggs tasted like they came from a container and the English muffins were stale. The coffee was good.

The young woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful in suggesting the best room for us. The breakfast served freshly scrambled eggs, fruit and a good selection of food as well as freshly brewed Starbuck's coffee.

We were advised that the hotel was undergoing renovation and that the crew would begin work by 8:00am. It created a need to check out earlier than we probably would have otherwise.

The staff were all super friendly, helpful, welcoming and gracious. The check in and check out processes were really easy. They were very accommodating to my needs during a short trip to the area.

The bathroom had quite a few issues, despite seemily updated recently. The tub had a large clump of hair it in, the clip to the shower head was broken and the toilet needed a new stopper as it ran all the time (unless you jiggled the handle after each use).

Mae-Mae was exceptional. Breakfast was good, would like the option of bacon once in a while. We were there for three days. We did notice that all of the employees seemed very happy to be there. That was such a wonderful experience to see.

The ice machine was out of order. Had to go to a different floor.
