Excellent location and few minutes walk from the centre of Shaftesbury. A comfortable room with sofa and a fridge with fresh milk. The breakfast had plenty of choices and was delicious. Small garden with seating and shade. The staff were polite and helpful.

The small en-suite could do with repainting and a new toilet seat. The light from the charger on the desk…..impossible to turn off. I propped my novel up in front of it once we turned the lights out. The entrance to the car park area is alongside the building and fairly narrow

Fantastic hotel in a great location , it was a 5 minute walk into shaftesbury with the added bonus of parking onsite. The room was decorated in a boutique style and was lovely . The hotel was spotless in all areas . We had dinner in the restaurant and it was the best 3 course meal we have ever had , the staff were very welcoming and we felt like staying here was a real treat . Breakfast was also fantastic with a good choice . We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return in the future .

La Fleur de Lys was the perfect accommodation for our two-night stay. Its location gave easy access (by a five-minute walk) to the town centre. Our room, and bed, were a good size, and all the facilities were very well maintained; the well-stocked mini-fridge was an unexpected bonus. Food-wise we took only breakfast during our stay, but the quality was excellent; everything was freshly prepared and top quality. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to return!

Road noise was a problem with our room. Next time we visit we'll request one of the quieter rooms at the rear.

Excellent location near Abbey, gold Hill and Main Street. Town very picturesque. Food and service were superb, dinner and breakfast. Proprietors were friendly, professional and flexible. All aspects of the restaurant and housekeeping were first class. On site parking is a bonus: parking is not easy in Shaftesbury.

We visited in summer, and with the windows open, there was a lot of road noise. People booking should make sure they can have a room at the back, overlooking the pretty garden. It is an old building and there is no air conditioning. The bed was rather soft.

The breakfast was excellent. They were very goo dealing with various dietary requirements and went out of their way to help. The dinner in the evening was excellent with lots of fresh veg served with it. Had a lovely stay and will be back

The wifi didn't reach to the extra area in the dinning room - not a problem though, but as we had business to do we had to leave the room to complete it

A return visit after 5 years did not disappoint - which is a rare treat these days. Well worth the 100 mile detour we made on a rare trip south, specifically to enjoy exceptional cuisine we remembered from 5 years ago and were delighted to find was still as exceptional as we remembered : an imaginative and wide menu, food quality faultless, presentation and service first-class. A warm, well appointed bedroom with thoughtful touches ; courteous and friendly hosts, a rare treasure. If only we did not live 200 miles away...............

Breakfast was excellent and the location very convenient for exploring Shaftesbury.

The lack of air conditioning in my room which was hot. I had to keep the window open and that meant it was noisy as the traffic was busy late in the evening and from 6:30am onwards. Thankfully I was staying on a Friday night as I suspect it would have been even noisier on a weekday morning.

We stayed at this hotel last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee was provided in our room with fresh local milk. We booked a table for an evening meal and it was absolutely delicious and of an extremely high standard. The staff are friendly and helpful and we were really impressed with the chef - who is also the proprietor. The breakfast was also delicious and the poached eggs were perfect. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Shaftesbury town centre and there is a free car park for the hotel visitors. We could not recommend this hotel enough - 10/10 from us

We can’t fault it

The location is central with easy acess parking. The owners and staff were delightful and most welcoming. The owners are on site so it had a very safe feel. The room had a four poster bed with beautiful drapes. We boked in for dinner which was great especially the starters and the venison with blackberries. Really generous portions of fresh vegetables included in the price of the main course.

First time and first stop in UK, per my vacation experience, I would like to say I never, ever had such a fabulous hotel with very friendly, professional owner and employees. I found the hotel on Google Map, and booked with Booking.com, from the pictures you can see, very stylish and nice room, since I was the lasted one booked the room the day, so I got the last room with twin beds only, but it was Okay , just one night. Also with one full dinner and one full breakfast, total was 200.00 US$, don’t forget it is a Michelin starred restaurant. I never wrote any review after my staying any hotel but this one I Must. I’ll recommend this hotel and the town to my friends. Again, Thanks to David ( the owner, also the master Chef ), Max, and the rest of employees in this hotel.
