We appreciated being given a room with bunk beds as we requested—nice bathroom with tasteful soaps. A large selection of coffees (espresso, coffebags, instant) and teas was available in our room. Breakfast was amazing. Saturday and Monday, my Benedict eggs were exactly to my liking. The boys enjoyed the English breakfast—plenty of free parking and complimentary drinks in the pub.

A few stains on the carpet didn't ruin our stay. Next to the window, I didn't have the constant Wi-Fi signal that the others enjoyed.

What a lovely little place. My room was excellent, with a very comfy bed, a voucher for a free drink at the bar (this might have only been with certain room types so watch out) and the food downstairs was excellent. I loved all the historical artefacts, stories and articles around the place too - really gave the place character. Car park was easy to use, staff were friendly, all really really good.

If you're after an evening bath, the hot water seems to be on some sort of timer, and so the water in my room was tepid at best during the evening. In the morning though, everything was absolutely fine and I was able to have a very comfortable shower. There were a few maintenance issues in the bathroom that need attention - for example the hole in the bathtub, and some peely/cracky paint in places, but honestly nothing to write home about and nothing that affected my enjoyment of this stay. Make sure you ask for toast during breakfast by the way, as a Full English doesn't wont come with any unless you do.

Rooms were comfy! Took a little while to heat up but it was -6°C this weekend so very understandable! To make up for it, I was given an additional space heater. The coffee and biscuit station was very good and there was an actual mini fridge which I feel is rare these days! It had still and sparkling water and a small bottle of semi skimmed milk. I was in 308 and it was a very interesting layout with a small landing leading you around a wall to the rest of the room, giving an extra bit of privacy. I imagine the restaurant was lovely as per the other reviews, but I ended up going for a Chinese across the road which was good! Additionally, the hotel WiFi reached that far across haha

Nothing!

This property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room was nice size, staff friendly and amenities plentiful. The welcome cocktail in the pub was a special treat! Breakfast options were good with either a continental or made to order choice.

The food at the restaurant was not good. My dish was so salty it was inedible..which is saying a lot for me because I salt everything when I cook. We were there with another couple and none of us ate our dishes. It was a disappointing dinner.

Excellent location. Very comfortable room. Helpful and friendly staff. Couldn't stay for breakfast, but took a few things to eat and wrapped them up for later. Dinner - had Greek mezze - as there were not many options for vegetarians. I had a very pleasant stay. It has a good ambience and energy here and, if I was returning to the area, I would definitively stay again. And parking too! Thank you!

It would have been good to have some apples and bananas at breakfast and, as already mentioned, a few more options for vegetarians on the menu.

Wonderful historic building with bedrooms in a modern extension. Bar and restaurant areas very cosy and atmospheric with old timbered ceilings etc. Modern bedrooms immaculately clean and comfortable with beautiful bathroom with bath and excellent power shower. Staff were super friendly with a special mention for the lady on reception who could not have been more helpful and pleasant organising our early check in. Food at both dinner and breakfast was delicious. Have stayed here previously and would definitely stay again. Thank you so much.

Nothing.

The room was spacious and comfortable. I appreciated that the hotel had some very interesting decor/pictures bringing forth an intermedial historical aesthetic to the walls and corridors. The colour and light scheme in the rooms were also pleasant and warm. The washroom was spacious too, with a clean tub to soak in. The reception staff and housekeeping were excellent in responding to my requests and clarifications. I felt very comfortable at the Red Lion that I decided to extend my stay there! Shout out to Saurav for his courteous service at the pub. Also, could the chef please provide more gravy in a single serving? It was delicious!

The only thing that struck me strange was the attitude and behaviour of the (white) breakfast staff, on the few mornings I went down to breakfast (made somewhat stressful in anticipation as my stay progressed). Experiencing disrespectful behaviour in terms of avoiding my eye/call, getting my order wrong, delivering a hot item cold after a follow-up request was made after the order, with absolutely no courtesy extended by said breakfast personnel - was rendered further unpleasant in contrast to how the lunch/dinner pub staff, reception and housekeeping personnel treated me with warmth and support from the outset of and throughout my stay.

This was our second stay at The Red Lion and again it did not disappoint. It is a lovely place and staff are always there to help. Very welcoming. Very clean. Very comfortable and just a great place to stay.

The only thing we would say is that we went to the theatre and got the train back from centre of London. It would have been nice to get a drink when we got back as we were staying and it could have been added to our room but we were told the bar was closed. We got back at midnight and I understand but everywhere we have stayed the bar stays open past the uaual time for those staying at the premises.

Reception staff very welcoming, slept well on the comfortable bed.. air con very handy as we were there when it was high 20s.. The mini fridge was very useful during the heatwave..Kettle with tea, coffee, fruit tea & hot chocolate so plenty to choose from... Breakfast was delicious various hot dishes to choose from including a full English cooked to order...if that's not for you then there's a great range of continental to choose from... No one should go hungry...All staff at breakfast were very helpful & attentive... There is a very good bus service into Uxbridge & the tube from Uxbridge takes you straight to London kings cross, so great for visiting the capital... We used the Red Lion as a base when visiting family so never got to try evening meals.. We checked out early to visit the battle of Britain bunker ( 20 minutes walk away) we worth a visit.. we were able to leave our luggage with reception which was a great help...Will definitely book again..

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved the complimentary water, chocolates, biscuits, a glass bottle of milk for our hot drinks and having a fridge in our room. The food served in the restaurant bar was very nice and cooked lovely. Thank you also for the 2 complimentary drinks at the bar! They were very much appreciated. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. It was lovely to have big bottles of soap and cream in the bathroom to use and an option to buy some too! We had an early morning call to ensure we woke up in time to get to the airport. We will be staying here again!

There was nothing to dislike.
