The breakfast was included in our room price . The food was nice we ate there both evenings. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't near the road .

There is a marquee at the back that is used for weddings and other occasions. We were in room 37 at that side of the building and music was loud till 11pm on Saturday and 8pm on Sunday . We complained and was told they could change our room but as it was our last night we didn't bother . If they had rooms away from the noise why not put people in those rooms first instead of where there will be loud music .

Breakfast was good, nice range of food. Would have enjoyed porridge but not something they offer. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom bright and fresh. I went for an early morning walk around the park it's sited in, it was lovely, lots of birdlife and some amazing views of the city and the countryside beyond from the top of the hill. I was worried it might be noisy at night, as it is a popular restaurant / pub and has an events marquee for weddings and the like, but it was really quiet. Lovely place to stay.

Nothing we didn't like, really, but it would have been useful to have had an EV charger available, There were other electric vehicles in the car park, so I suspect they would be well used. The locally available chargers were awkward to access, particularly because I wasn't familiar with the town centre and there were some diversions. The one I eventually found was by the Cineworld complex, which at least had a Costa, but it would have been very helpful to us to charge on site and taken advantage of the hotel facilities or gone for a walk in the lovely park while plugged in.

The vast majority, ease of access, friendly staff and a very comfortable room. The breakfast was very much enjoyed by my better half.

The lack of options for a Gluten Free breakfast, when you're told there isn't any sausages, black pudding, hash browns or beans you can have is disappointing. The remaining items were GF toast, which is better to not have due to the poor taost of most GF breads, mushrooms and tomatoes which I'm not a fan of, so that left me with two rashers of bacon and two fried eggs. Considering the price of the room and I wasn't offered more bacon I thought one of the breakfasts would have been refunded.

The staff were amazing friendly professional obliging . Food was excellent both in choice and price .kids menu perfect even for our fussy autistic child and they obliged our requests with no issues .location perfect lovely woodland nearby retail and train station .we would 100% return and highly recommend

Struggling to think of anything really .room perfect beds really comfortable. Checking in. and times realistic .if really pushed i could not have an Irish or any other liqueur coffee that would be the only tiny thing I can think of...

The room was perfect, a nice big comfortable bed, with extra pillows if needed already in the room along with an individual iron & ironing board. The staff were very welcoming, both in the hotel and attached pub (for anyone worrying there was no noise overspill, although it’d be fair to note that there was an events marquee adjacent for wedding and the like, which wasn’t being used when I stayed. The breakfast was excellent! I didn’t used the pub/restaurant but the menu looked good.

No negative as such, I was pleasantly surprised to find a bath with shower over, both of which I used. However I feel there should have been an anti-slip bathmat and possibly a grab handle too. I was perfectly fine but a less able guest might not be.

The staff in reception and the restaurant were all very friendly. The evening meal was very tasty, (we had the ribs and the fillet steak) The grounds had a variety of interesting birdlife and would have been lovely in spring/summer. Within walking distance of The Hepworth Art Gallery (20/25 mins) which was our main reason for staying.

The breakfast was a bit underwhelming, the fruit selection was poor and there was no coffee machine or boiling water for tea.(just hot in an insulated jug) Eggs were poached nicely though. It was quite a trek up the the second floor with no lift. The top car park was many steps too.

A warm welcome. Our room was as described. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided including extra pillows. The bathroom comes provided with shampoo and body wash, like the hand wash, it is made from natural ingredients. The hotel is placed near to the main building and marquee, with a weekend full of celebrations you might expect to hear some noise, be assured there is none. Housekeeping provide an excellent service. It is a short journey to the restaurant, everywhere is accessible. We were greeted by our breakfast host each morning. There is an excellent choice of breakfast, a mix of continental and cooked. Extremely good value and choice. You would not have known there was a wedding reception from the night before, everything was cleared away and preparing for its next celebration. The restaurant has a good range of choices for both lunch and dinner. There is also a good choice of morning coffee and cake. There is an amazing team of friendly staff that work hard to make your stay the very best possible.

The level access bathroom, walk in shower, I feel is lacking a grab rail along by the toilet and sink. There is a tall box, maybe boxing in pipes ? It is not really suited to hold or lean onto, if there could be away of safely adding a grab rail it would be helpful and useful.

Holmfield Arms is an ideal location to Wakefield city centre, it’s a reasonably easy walk around 15 mins and you can enjoy a delightful walk around the park that it’s located in , always a lovely stay here

Awful breakfast, arrived just after 8.00am ordered full English, everything was cold the bacon was inedible the toast was so cold and butter was frozen a complete waste of money. I’d booked two mornings breakfast but didn’t bother with the Sunday morning . I mentioned it at reception when checking out but nothing more

The Holmfield Arms is a very cozy and stylish hotel, with an amazing atmosphere, especially during the Christmas period. We were greeted warmly and with excellent manners before being shown to our room. Although there was a small issue with the room, we reported it to a staff member, and the problem was resolved quickly. To compensate, we were kindly offered free drinks to enjoy. Later, the lovely receptionist learned that the restaurant we had booked for my son’s birthday dinner was permanently closed. As an apology for the earlier inconvenience, she generously offered us a complimentary dinner at the hotel. The entire experience was extremely pleasant—the staff were amazing, and the breakfast was hot and delicious. I also want to mention that the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend the Holmfield Arms Hotel for a stay. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

We liked everything.

Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable staff were very friendly breakfast was excellent the location is ideal for us as we come down from Glasgow once a month to visit our uncle we were also provided with a fan in the room because it was so hot which I thought was a very nice touch.

We stayed here a month ago and had an evening meal which was really good so we decided to have the same meal again which was fish and chips but it didn’t taste as good but it won’t put us off
