The hotel has a lovely relaxed ambience. The food was excellent. We ate in the restaurant and had breakfast. The staff were both attentive and friendly. One member of staff Chloe, was a credit to the hotel. She couldn't do enough for us and was so friendly and approachable. The way she dealt with some obnoxious customers was excellent and she dealt with these ladies calmly and professionally and was amazing. She shown her true worth Dunkenhalgh Hotel she really did.
Prices are high end especially in the restaurant. Bottled water expensive and paying £1.50 for an egg to go with the gammon was rather questionable.

I unfortunately didn’t get to spend much time in the hotel once I arrived as I was rushed into hospital with a medical emergency in the early hours of my 1 night stay. The staff were exceptional and so understanding on the morning I was due to check out of the room and still in hospital. They were able to gather my belongings for me and kept them safe until I was able to be discharged and return to collect them. Nothing was too much trouble and it was one less thing for me to worry about while I was getting the medical attention i needed. I will definitely be returning for a longer stay to fully make use of all their facilities in the future

We stayed here as a family for leisure purpose and really enjoyed our stay. Positives: * Lovely freshly cooked breaks, and you can ask for anything extra you may like. * Staff throughout the stay made an effort to speak, especially restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating especially making effort with our boys chatting and making light conversation. * the room was lovely and clean and freshly made beds and clean towels each morning. * The food was lovely, although one of children wasn’t very well with travelling up from Essex, we didn’t get chance to try the evening restaurant, or the gym. But I will be in our next stay later in the year. * The views from our room were lovely and we had room service which was quick and easy to do. The hotel as a hotel we found really intriguing with lots of culture and history definitely worth a stay and was same price as other hotels in area which made it a no brainer for quality and choice. Negative: Only thing we could find to be honest was the shower cubicle had grout stains and although was clean it looked a little off putting to the naked eye.

A wonderful building, set back from the main road. Food was lovely but limited menu, but you could eat in the bar lounge and choose from another menu. Very busy/hectic if there is a wedding on but we were put in a room further away from the wedding and we could not hear any music. Some amazing staff members. In particular, Danielle (waitress) and Liam (bartender). Both had excellent customer service skills and made us feel really welcomed. Thank you
The breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price. I have had better selections at other hotel brands. Also a long wait for hot drinks, as only one machine working. It was very busy though, and staff were doing wgat they could to keep food and drinks topped up.

we stayed 15 days at the hotel, the kitchen staff and bar staff especially were excellent. Food Great (would like more variety in the menu, that got a little boring for dinner) and the TV, I am hearing impaired would be great to have closed caption available) I will go to this hotel again, I plan on returning in 2 years! Highly recommend!
Have more pamphlets with the places you can visit and tours available for the area. We had to figure out for ourselves. The Spa, my sister and I scheduled a massage and facial on the 24th the day before we were leaving. Unfortunately my sister came down with shingles so could not make the appt so she would not pass the shingles to anyone. I informed the Spa the day before early afternoon, the would not refund the massage or facial. The offered us 2 swim caps! instead of refund.

This hotel has a beautiful setting and history... this is our second visit and the staff are always helpful and willing to put guests first at all cost. Semoyal was outstanding a credit to this hotel. Well done Semoyal you made our stay outstanding, and we fell you went the extra mile to make our stay very memorable.
One receptionist wasn't very welcoming, no smiles looked impatient. We asked to book a table for pur evening meal and when we went to the dining area later that evening we were not on the list at all. Very disappointing however we did get a table and had our meal.

Great location, lovely big clean rooms that were heated well enough that a drafty window in one room did not spoil our stay, Had comfortable beds, large modern shower bathroom, friendly and helpful staff. Well stocked breakfast with choice of eggs on request worth the extra too. Perfectly nice for the price. Will def stay again.
Would have scored higher except I hope the hotel can do something about the weird journey from entrance to rooms through a conference bar and coffee area and then through unsecured swing doors outside onto covered path and then inside again through unsecured swing doors in freezing conditions. Did not feel those doors very secure.

Staff where very friendly and helpful. The room we had was above the swimming pool area and to hot at night so the staff moved is to a better room which was a bit cooler
First night had a meal in the restaurant and the menu didn't have much on it but the food was good. Second night we had food in the bar area which is the same menu as the restaurant. I was ready to order at 7pm but we were told the chef had stopped taking orders as he was to busy and we were told to order just eat and have it in our room. 8pm chef decided to start taking orders again orderd food at 8 and was brought to our table 8.06pm made me think it was microwave this was my only disappointment

There was a great choice for breakfast , everything from cereal to fruit, croissants , cooked breakfast , I was offered porridge . Staff were so lovely ,friendly and welcoming from my arrival at reception to the restaurant staff, they were so kind and couldn’t do enough for me , aftet a tough personal day. Room was clean, bed comfy, tea and coffee tray with biccies included. Great shower and toiletries. I’ll stay t the Dunkenhalgh again.
I was in a room at front above reception on a busy Satellite night so a bit noisy, but made the hotel aware. That’s the only niggle but I’ll be staying again when in the area!

Lovely big room, all very clean and comfortable, I think recently refurbished. Beautiful products. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Set in lovely grounds. Had a very relaxing facial at the spa. Would return and would recommend.
I didn't like that if you didn't buy a pool /spa package you had to pay £7.50 for a robe. I've been to many spa's and never had to pay.
