Stayed for 2 nights. This is a traditional hotel, in a beautiful location with views overlooking the hills within a short walk (down a hill) to the village of Burnsall. Beautiful walks along the River Wharfe and an ideal location for other attractions within a 15 mile radius. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and have everything you need. Breakfast is good and evening dinner menu is very tasty but as it's rich food, be aware it is smaller portions...so can enjoy 3 courses. The home made apple crumble is recommended. Relaxing sofas to sit on in the restaurant and bar after a meal with an open fire.

The hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly and they made our stay enjoyable but (and only a small but!) at times the service was slow (perhaps it's just a slower pace of life in The Dales). It just made it feel like the hotel was a bit short staffed. Other than this, the hotel, the staff, and the location is excellent.

Beautiful location and hotel provided us with a map of a fantastic 9 mile hike through countryside, small villages and riverside walk return which proved to be the highlight of our entire 2 week Yorkshire break.

Lack of air conditioning, as whilst a room fan was provided it was quite noisy. Also, the constant asking of name and room number in reception/bar/breakfast area throughout a 5 day stay felt rather impersonal given the relatively small number of rooms.

a very welcoming and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff very obliging and friendly yet remaining professional. Not a large hotel so we felt at ease when eating our meals. They automatically added our extras to the bill without having to ask. All meals were served hot and were very tasty and well proportioned. Room was cosy and well equipped and perfectly furnished and cleanly presented.

We had a room with a double bed which was manageable for two nights but a little squashy for our sleep needs But the upgrade would have been too much so we had agreed to manage before booking. I think most hotels we stay at have large double beds and some king beds as standard. The dinner menu was varied but for us a menu with some simpler options would have been preferred as there were too many 'random' or 'alternative' seasonings added to give a different flavour to the foods on the menu.

The location of The Devonshire Fell could not be more perfect. With its elevated position, the views are spectacular. Meals are taken in the dining room or conservatory which both have views of the river and stunning scenery. Breakfast is plentiful with continental and cooked meals. All this is table service by their friendly staff. We had dinner in both the À la cart and Brasserie restaurants and neither disappointed. Beautifully presented with innovative ingredients, the meals were delicious. Again the staff were friendly and informative. A short two minute walk takes you into the pretty village of Burnsall with a pub, a couple of tea shops and an ice cream shop. Sit beside the river with a picnic, with room for children to play on the grass or take a pretty riverside walk to take in the beauty of the scenery.

Absolutely beautifully placed in an idyllic village location being close enough to explore Bolton Abbey with the complimentary pass provided. We also enjoyed an afternoon at The Devonshire Spa which was a superb way to relax after a long drive. Every member of staff was super friendly. Loved the unusual alarm call by the sheep parading down the road 🐑 🐏 🐑 so much that we want to relocate permanently to enjoy a country lifestyle. Thank you Devonshire Fell for a lovely break ☺️

Even though we booked months ahead of our arrival the room we were given was very disappointing. Extremely hot & stuffy on the first night. No effort had been made to cool the obviously hot room for our arrival. Not even the window had been opened! Very uncomfortable sleep. The second night was better as the helpful housekeeping manager provided a fan when we told him of our discomfort. This certainly helped. I can’t understand why reception didn’t provide the fan for the first night.

Location an view was amazing. The hotel was very pretty and the décor was lovely. The fittings in the rooms we modern and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic both dinner and breakfast, Loved the paintings in the hotel from a local artist

Service was a little slow, there was a party in the restaurant when we arrived and they did not seem to have enough staff to cover it. This only impacted us a little after the party had dispersed the service speeded up

Breakfast choices and service good. Again good service at dinner and menus good. Maybe a little more thought for vegetarian options at both meals

It was very hot and sunny during our stay (not complaining!!) and rooms on the second floor, got quite warm. However there was a fan in the room, so that was useful. Maybe during exceptional weather spellls, like this, offer guests just a sheet to sleep under should they want it.

We loved everything about this hotel: the staff were amazing, the food superb and the location was perfect. We had the most beautiful fell views from the Bellbusk suite. We were given it as an upgrade from the deluxe room I’d booked and it was stunning, extremely spacious, huge bed, two bathrooms and immaculate. In fact the entire hotel and its staff were outstanding and I don’t understand why it only has four stars, because it deserves at least five!

The hotel, and our room were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good with a great view from the front of the hotel.

The dinner menu (a la carte and bistro) were both relatively limited. The food was presented well and tasted great but its not clear why there were two menus when there was cross-over between the two in terms of style and price. There wasn't sufficient choice of starters or deserts for our tastes.
