we had a lovely stay and the breakfast was excellent and we had 2 dinners which was good. Staff were very friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, plenty of tea,coffee etc. excellent towels.

Room 3 was very nice if a bit small for the price and 3 people. the shower head broke first time we used it and the holder was the wrong fitting, also bathroom door handle was loose, the shower head was fixed within a couple of hours. Room 2 was nice but small for the price and found it very noisy and had to keep the window shut. Would be nice to have a drying room for wetsuit's and beach towels.

Staff were welcoming and helpful…no lift and helped with luggage upstairs. Room was just what I needed, plus there was a fridge with fresh milk and cans of water. Breakfast had a huge choices…I had to ask for a smaller portion! Location…five minutes to town centre. No through traffic so very peaceful. Terrace with sea view in Cornwall. First time in Bude and I hopefully will be back.

Nothing, except I was one of the last residents at the hotel as it’s been for the last twenty odd years. The family owned hotel has been sold and taken over by another very good hotel nearby. Good luck to the new owners and a huge thank you to the family who are moving on.

Had room 10 on top floor which has a fantastic view of the beach etc. Also a bonus having a small living room which is worth paying extra for. All the staff were brilliant, polite and friendly. Everywhere was very clean. Food was fantastic although portions were huge! No issues with parking and location is perfect for the beach etc.

Very small bathroom and the water pressure from the shower was awful in this room. If you’ve long hair like me, it was a nightmare to wash and rinse it. The owners should really invest in better water pressure/ showers for its paying guests as looking at other reviews about the water pressure, it seems to be an ongoing issue for quite a while now.

Great proximity for walks, beaches and town. Super, genuinely lovely staff... all of them that i met. Good food and prices, I had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. Clean, welcoming, comfortable, nicely presented and just what i wanted. The stunning sun dipping into the sea whilst sat for dinner was a bonus. The accommodation gave me everything that i needed for a last minute night away, and i would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for making this a joyful stay.

The tiniest thing in room 7, is that there wasn't a radiator/ heated rail for when you step out of the shower, and it was a cold day. The shower room is possibly too small for one, and this wasn't a problem for me but might be for others. Some things just aren't possible, and it's by no means a complaint, just a consideration. I didn't see other rooms, but would happily stay in this one again.

Wow! What an amazing hotel with the nicest people! Great views, location, rooms, food, and 5* customer service. I stayed here for the first time last night and was checked in by Becky, who was so friendly and welcoming. The beach is so close and the rooms are finished to a really high standard. I even had jacuzzi bath in my room and watched the sun set. This morning, I had an amazing breakfast! The Full Deck was included in the price and was delicious. I even bought a painting by a local artist that was hanging next to my table. I sadly had to check out this morning and again was given really great personable service from Emma. I am coming back very soon. Highly recommend this amazing hotel.

Our room was perfect for our stay, it looked out towards the monument, cliffs, the beach and beyond. A absolutely stunning view from the room. The beds were comfortable with lovely cotton linens and duck down quilts and pillows. The room was well equipped with the usual kettle, coffee etc. The extras, not typically found in a hotel room, such as a coffee pod machine for a decent espresso and a fridge, were both excellent and a real bonus. We will keep these extras in mind when booking to stay in Bude again. The room was nicely sized and very clean, hats off to the staff who maintain the rooms; they do a splendid job. The staff were friendly, always ready with a smile, and happy to engage in a quick chat. They are a delightful group of people who ensure you feel cared for whilst in their presence. The food was excellent, we had a light cooked breakfast on both mornings and it was delicious, it set us up for the day. We returned in the evening to have a meal, and again, we could not find fault, it was lovely tasty food, well presented and well cooked. Throughout our two night stay the service was impeccable. A very clean, well run family hotel. We will be back.

Unfortunately, the water pressure in the shower isn't strong, but it's still functional. It's likely that if the owners could improve it, they would. The reduced pressure might be attributed to being on the top floor. Nonetheless, we prefer the stunning views from the top floor over the possible better water pressure available on lower floors.!

We could not recommend the edgecombe hotel and the deck more! The staff are amazing, very friendly and attentive. The food is phenomenal and great value, you can tell that the ingredients are of a really good quality. The hotel is beautifully decorated and in keeping with the location, which is again, excellent. We had a lovely view of the beach from our bedroom and the lounge attached. The room itself was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. We really had a wonderful time and if you're thinking of booking in bude, book the edgecombe! We are already planning on going back as soon as possible.

The food was excellent, lovely, and fresh. There was a great menu to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful and clean; we had everything we wanted, even a tiny fridge, which came in handy on the one hot day we had. The cleaning staff were polite and accommodating.

The main letdown was the breakfast; there wasn't a choice of cereal, and it was the same fruit every day. Also, if you pay for a bed and breakfast rate, you should have the option of what you would like to eat instead of being careful as there are many additional add-ons, for example, toast, pastries, pancakes, etc. I have stayed in other hotels in Bude, where you can choose from a selection of cereal, full breakfast, pancakes, and additional toast, as much as you like, without any extra charges. This is the same with coffee; if I wanted a latte, I didn't have to pay any extra for it. This is what let the hotel down.

Such a great place to stay. We had a fabulous sea view, our room was lovely, the bed was really comfortable & the staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a good one. The food in the Deck restaurant was really good & the breakfast was delicious & good quality. The jungle based toilet for the bar & restaurant was unusual but great fun

The shower room en-suite was quite small so it was a tight fit to sit on the toilet. We do appreciate that this is unavoidable due to the layout of the room & it is a small hotel.

I loved staying here - what amazing staff - real care taken to support your stay. Amazing location - close to sea lake - beach - walks and town centre. I had a small double at the top of the hotel in late Feb in high winds and rain. My room was always cosy and warm. My bed was comfortable - I loved having a mini fridge that was actually quiet. Breakfast was great. Nothing was too much trouble. I saw the rooms with sea views and I’ll definitely go for one of these next time as the views are great.

Nothing to report - I was super happy But for others info It is an old Victorian house - so it’s stairs My shower was always hot with a rainfall feel - so if you are used to an electric super pump shower at home it might seem a bit different at first.
