Front Desk Staff is very efficient, welcoming and fully bilingual. Beach security staff, cleaning staff, and breakfast staff always helpful. They all have some English but are more comfortable in Spanish and will help you with your Spanish as well! Very quiet boutique hotel with friendly guests. Allows you to be totally private or chat with others. Just a few steps to the pool or beach. It is a great 'walking beach' if you're looking for about an hour or so outing. Rooms are a comfortable size in case you want to escape into air conditioning for an hour or so. Very substantial continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. There is a grocery store within 10 minutes walking and the kitchenette is equipped well enough for an alternative breakfast if you want to make something different. While there is no restaurant on site, we enjoyed walking to different restaurants for dinner in the evening and always felt safe.

The pool is small and while it does have a shallow side for young kids, preteens and teens don't really have a pool to play in. HOWEVER, there is a whole ocean with a very gradual slope out front where surf lessons are held every day!

The location....was exceptional. Away from the middle of town but close enough for a short walk to restaurants, cafes and bars. The beach is the best on this south side of the strip so The Coast is perfect....as you walk north, the beach is more crowded and less clean. The hotel is low key, quiet, never had to look for a free chair (always available) and the complimentary breakfast delivered to your room every day was fantastic and we so much food that we kept the fruit for an afternoon snack......amazing hotel.

We liked everything about it....the beach has horses and dogs so lots of poop on the beach which is not our vibe but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

The hotel staff were friendly, attentive and always willing to help. Every request was answered quickly and with a smile. The pool area was like a little oasis and perfect spot for relaxing. The beach was just feet away from the room.

The walk to town was the worst of the stay but it wasn’t really that bad. You could walk along the beach which was an easier walk or you can walk along the street side. There is a nicely paved sidewalk which takes you directly to the heart of the town center where all the restaurants and shops are. If walking is not your thing you can rent golf carts or bikes to get around.

The location was fabulous. Quiet and just out from the town but a quick 5 minute walk into the action. You don’t want to be closer because the beach gets so crowded closer to town. Beach was amazing and had enough lounge chairs to relax without having to claim them at 7am. Rooms were very spacious and comfy.

No onsite restaurant or bar but they have a restaurant just across the street that is amazing and a beach club just door so definitely not a game changer for staying here.

we noticed that the security by the outside ocean area allows anyone and everyone to access the grounds which made us feel like we had to watch all of our belongings. the security is not like when we stat at Capitan Suiza where they do not allow anyone on there grounds and you can leave your belongings on beach chairs and not have to worry. That would be my biggest complaint that the security is very lax and especially when you pay that kind of money to stay there.

The property is a short and pleasant walk into Tamarindo along the beach. The hotel provides a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, toast, etc, brought to your room at a prearranged time. They also organized our airport transfers. They can help arrange other tours/activities, but we didn’t take advantage of that, overall very nice property on the beach. Clean, quiet and in a good location if you would like to be close to things but not right in the middle. We arrived right at the beginning of tourist season on a Monday, and sleepy little Tamarindo definitely got busier as the week progressed. I imagine high season can be quite bustling.

We went to Costa Rica to visit our daughter who lives and works there. The hotel has a strict no guests in the room policy, or on the property. In fairness, there is a bathroom behind reception and they let her use that to change, etc., when she came by to see us.

A mat to wipe sand off feet outside of door could have been provided. Also the shower floor had sharp stones on it, put a washcloth on the floor so my feet wouldn’t hurt in shower. Didn’t know til the last of four day stay that there was a rubber mat rolled up in the cabinet under the sink. Also they could easily put a small bar on their beach property do guests wouldn’t have to go out and buy at the grocery store.

Breakfast delivered to your door every morning. The front bungalow was delightful and steps from the beach. The property has their own private area on the beach with hammocks and lounges. Overall the property was a fantastic option, just far enough away from the very popular and crowded tourist restaurants to be private, but still able to walk down for a meal or drinks. Beautiful. Will be dreaming of this place for years to come.

We didn't stay long enough! Could easily have set up there for a week.

Loved the fresh fruit every morning. Plenty to eat. Helpful security watched over valuables as we swam in the ocean. The pool was great for cooling off but is not a place for older kids to really play. I would recommend for couples or families with young children. The fact that there is no restaurant forced us to explore. There are L ots of good places to eat within easy walking distance.

Everything was wonderful. My husband and I had a beachfront bungalow which was clean, comfortable, and had an ocean view. Walking distance to everything. Short walk along the beach to all the beach front restaurants or walk along the road into town. Or both! They had surf boards available to rent. Breakfast is included and is delivered to your room everyday. Next time we will bring our kids with us. It’s very kid friendly. And monkeys in the trees outside our room!
