The place is located right under the Slavkovsky peak. The area is beautiful for walks. I liked how clean the room was as well as the balcony that was oriented to the East, with the view of both - a Catholic and a Lutheran church. The bed was very comfortable, with good quality bedding, two huge pillows per person as well as large comforters. There was a really nice lady who prepared breakfast for the guests.

Overall, we loved our stay a lot. We stayed only one night, so the small size of the room was not a problem for us. It could be an issue if you stay longer and spend more time inside. It would be wonderful if a kettle was available for in room tea/coffee prep. Not a biggie, though. Downstairs, in the common area, there was a kettle prepared with a few bags of tea. No coffee. Also, just heads up- the checking is done remotely and if we did not check in online, we would have to find “Koliba Kamzik” in Stary Smokivec (2 min by car) to do so. I can imagine that older travelers might have hard time with that step. But again- the lady on the phone was super helpful and contacted us hours before our arrival to clarify everything.

Nice and clean apartment for families. Comfortable beds, terrace. The breakfast was very good and I was happy that they reflected to Easter, we could find Easter meals. The biliard room is very good, you can play there chess too. The location is good, close to everything.

The only little thing, we got only one door card and it is uncomfortable if you want to leave your room alone, you leave the card in the room for electricity for your family, you won't be able to enter the building again without card.

The hospitality of the owners were off the charts. The location & the view of the balcony is amazing. Clean, comfortable, beautiful & worthwhile place.

This building and the family owning it is deeply integrated into the history of the surrounding towns and the Tatras. The building has been beautifully renovated recently, and they managed to perfectly keep the old style while providing all the modern conveniences. From the moment you arrive and the owner greets you, you feel like you are visiting with friends instead of staying in a hotel. They always have a few kind words for you and go out of their way to help you. We did have a special request beforehand, which was perfectly organized. They can also give you great advice for your time in the Tatras. The breakfast is a full continental selection, and according to the owners, they just started doing dinners. This is usually a buffet of 2 soups and 2-3 main courses, but created by a talented chef, expertly bringing traditional Slovakian flavours into modern cuisine. We are a family of foodies, so we actively seek out different restaurants to try the local food, but this time we were more than happy to have dinners in the hotel. The wellness needs to be booked a little bit in advance at the reception. But then you get a whole part of the building just for yourselves, with a sauna and a jacuzzi bath, and best of all, a spacious room with a fireplace and a bar where you can relax. Even though we are not wellness fanatics, we all found it lovely and definitely worth to try. It's obvious from my superlatives that it was one of the very best hotel stays in my life. It's almost on the level of the Japanese ryokans that I have experienced. This is not a luxury place, but a quality place, if you can appreciate the difference. Also, it's a quiet place, so you probably shouldn't go there if you want to party. On the other hand, if you want to relax and enjoy the surroundings, you won't be disappointed.

I tried very hard to find something, but no, couldn't come up with anything. As it's an old building, be aware that there are three floors and no elevator. But even the wooden staircase is lovely and a joy to walk up and down. :)

Beautiful house , large and stylish rooms , with amazing view from the balcony. Loved the chess and billiard room . The staff was far but our requests were answered promptly. Additions requested to the breakfast were accepted and elevated our breakfast experience

Wow , where do I start? Theis place is a gem! The breakfast is perfect, the rooms are comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean, comfy beds with quality linen and matrasses, other hotel areas are pleasant and welcoming. Excellent location walking distance from everything you'd need. The owners and the staff are extremely nice and helpful. They provided useful recommendations, put a lot of extra effort when we needed a service that is not regularly provided by the place and when my child had a medical emergency they helped us in every possible way (thank you so much Joseph!)

This hotel is a true gem in the High Tatras! Absolutely perfect location for the villa, with history breathing from the walls, and the interior matched to every single detail. Not omitting great breakfast, cozy common rooms to hang out, coffee-tea-wine corner, and the option for private wellness. I really appreciated the background music playing jazz and the amazing smell and lighting that hugged you from the moment you stepped into the hotel. Last but not least, the highly professional yet friendly staff make you feel at home and help you with any request day and night! I would truly name this one of the best experiences with accommodation in the Tatras we have ever had!

Although the bathroom looked absolutely stunning and was very functional, the sink was quite small. But there is nothing you can do about that in the smaller space. There is no lift, which was totally fine with us, but this was due to the historical aspects to be maintained.

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the main road and the electric railway station, yet in a quiet area. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. You can drink tea or espresso coffee for free at any time. The family suite is spacious and comfortable, the bathroom is well equipped. The view from the room's balcony is wonderful. The most amazing thing was the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.

It was not revealed in advance that the wellness services (sauna, jacuzzi) must be booked at least 3 hours in advance.

A hotel with a select atmosphere and a very nice and special host. It is very well located in relation to the areas of tourist interest. Very good breakfast with the possibility of ordering fried eggs or an omelette. The pool hall and other games are a plus. We recommend and hope for a return.

Cozy, beautifully restored hotel. Good location in Smokovec, everything is in walking distance. Quiet. Very close to the tram stop that takes you to Strbske Pleso or Tatranska Lomnica. 5-10 minutes to the funicular going to Hrebienok. We did not use the car during our stay. Very pleasant, friendly owners. Great breakfast. We also booked dinners, which were served at two close-by, nice restaurants. We enjoyed the sauna and played the pool. We hope we will come back one day.
