Very friendly and welcoming, comfy room,

The shower did not drain enough so floor gets wet, They are aware of this problem but think its a large job to fix. Very strange arrangement with the wine list as you order wine and the waitress came back to say that they dont have that bottle in the restaurant and I can go purchase it at the bottle store (which is in the hotel and owned by the same owners,) then bring it to the table and pay R 50 corkage. I found that a bit irritating and it did not make sense to me. Food was good and tasty and waitress was really lovely. I would stay there again.

We loved our short stay at this wonderful hotel. Sarah was a gracious and helpful host and the hotel is in a great location. It's on the main strip but very quiet. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable - there isn't air conditioning but a good fan in the room made the heat bearable. A good shower too. We enjoyed hanging out in the restaurant over breakfast which was very tasty. Plenty of hot and cold breakfast options and excellent coffee . The staff were so friendly and very helpful. We loved that we could walk to all the restaurants and attractions in the area . And at the end of a long hot day, we could enjoy a dip in the pool and a beverage in the comfortable pool area. I highly recommend the coffee milkshake - best I've ever had!! We just wish we'd had more time here - I highly recommend this lovely property .

Nothing - it was all wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay at Barrydale Karoo - BOUTIQUE HOTEL. Check-in was quick and easy, the bed was very comfortable, and the crisp linen added a lovely touch. We appreciated having a restaurant on-site, which was convenient after a long day of travel. Barrydale itself made for a pleasant stopover on our way to the next destination. The breakfast was basic but nice, and although we didn’t use the pool, it was great to have that option available. A special mention to the friendly receptionist who provided excellent local recommendations on things to do in the area—her advice really enhanced our visit.

While this wasn’t a major issue, it would be great to have air conditioning in the rooms, as Barrydale can get quite hot. That said, the large fan provided did help to keep the room cool.

Lovely Hotel on the main rd and close to restaurants and pubs , although they do have an onsite restaurant and pub as well. Food at the restaurant was good. Breakfast was included and good. The room was very nice with large comfortable bed and TV with DSTV channels. Room has hairdryer and coffee/tea facilities and also a mini fridge to keep things cold. Wifi also very good. The owner is very hospitable. There is a pool on the ground floor and the setting gives it a villa like feel which is nice and relaxing and one can order drinks and cocktails as well as food to enjoy by the pool. The hotel also allows pet which is a bonus for many travelers with animals. The hotel itself is very neat should we pass there and stay we will definitely choose this place again.

No A/C in rooms but they did have fans so wasn't a problem even it was hot

Barrydale is vibrant and we enjoyed our overnight stay. There was safe off-street parking. The pool area and courtyard were a bonus as it was rather hot and we could cool off in the pool and the courtyard. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant. The staff were friendly. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, despite the smallness of the room. If we were going to stay longer, we would have preferred one of the larger rooms.

The twin room was very small but we were aware that we had booked a small room. The owner told us he would have upgraded us if he had an available room. It was very comfortable and met our requirements. We had a fan, and flat sheet, and could leave the window open to help with the December heat.

Owner 's welcome greeting was not friendly He seemed irratated He granted a early check in on the phone the looked aggitated about our arrival Gave no info about the hotel and room . Bath taps could be better for a superior room A shower head mixer tap would be great added to the bath The coffee station was uncomfortable Tray on wood countertop would be handy to protect the wood Small dish for used teabags was missed 2 small milk sachets not enough for 2 large cups of coffee and ample teabags Information sheet in room would be handy One towel pp leaves nothing for wet hair. Jug with water to fill kettle would be handy

We were greeted by staff as we were getting out of our car. It made us feel very special. The room was spotlessly clean, and the twin bed was very comfortable. Nice touch in the room was the kettle, tea and coffee and rusks. Also, chocolates on the pillows. The room was cool while outside it was 34 C. I loved my mountain view. I appreciated it more than the pool view.

The bathroom basin taps aren't mixer taps, so you either have very hot water or cold water in the basin. But I noticed that the taps have levers, so they are disabled people friendly.

We had a lovely stay at the Karoo Boutique Hotel. We loved the decor- lots of lovely artworks displayed everywhere. There is a lovely wine shop in the hotel with the a very wide selection of wines from the area and beyond. We had a large and flavourful serving for dinner of Bobotie and veggies! We have no complaints about the our tasty the omelets served for breakfast either. We love the area and will be back to visit again!

The location is in the centre of the small town so is very convenient. The breakfast was excellent and the owner provided excellent personal service. Secure parking.

There were insufficient convenient electric sockets in our room and so, although a kettle was provided, we had to place it on the floor to use it. There was a minor issue with the plumbing which we overcame without reference to the owner. The shower area could be better - we were concerned we might slip when getting out.

perfect location in main street near all shops, beautiful hotel with lovely large rooms, beautifully decorated. Lovely thoughtful ideas like sherry in room and chocolates on pillow. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Very reasonably priced for what you get! Full Tasty breakfast. Nice very reasonable restaurant on site too. No aircon but a suitable fan was provided. Would definitely stay again! Thank you Eugene for an exceptional stay! Loved it!
