The host Alida and Tieni were very friendly and warm, we were welcomed to the cutest and very cosy place. Rooms were neat and tidy bathrooms inside as well as outside shower for summer that i find so cute. The set up of this whole place is beaitiful surounded by succulents trees with differerent colour birds eating and drinking from hanging bottles. They provide coffee tea and milk every you needs is there and to our suprise we mentioned we going to braai the evening...when we came back the afternoon a bag of wood, steak knives n forks chairs with pillows and all you need for the braai were there. Cosy braai area which we really appreciated The best place, i can even compare it with dream vacation..A big thank you Alida and Tienie I will surely be back. We loved everything about Aalkie's Dream. Well done guys you deserve a 10/10 rating. Claude

Aalkie's Dream was the last accommodation on our tour and we were so happy, it was the best. A wonderful cottage steps back behind the owners property. We had such an amazing warm welcome by Alida. She wrote our names on a board. When I stepped into the cottage I felt that I am in a well presented 4 1/2 star property. So many small lovely details are in the cottage presented. It was a perfect overnight. The night was cold and I made use of the nice blankets and hot water bottles. With a heater system I would give this beautiful place 5 star. It was not our first time in Swellendam and it was one of the best stay....and we will choose Aalkie's Dream again. It has all for your comfort and is lovely furnished. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a nice wooden terrace. If the weather will not play the game, you will find enough stuff to feel cosy. We wish Alida and Tienie all our best and that they will always have friendly customers, who appreciate all the effort she put into this place.

We loved staying here! Everyone was so friendly to us and especially to our baby. Even though he was still very young everyone made him laugh and smile a lot. Even toys were provided for him. The area felt very safe and we were able to walk everywhere. The patio was gorgeous and we got to see all the birds flying in the garden. On top of that there are many things to do in the area and a big book with information is provided.

Everything was great

From the beginning it felt like the owner loves to have guests. We were offered a fabulous cake and our dirty clothes were washed. And when we had problems to get a lift to Stellenbosch she called some friend to help us. It may sound ridiculous but it felt like being at home. When we left we hugged each other.

Aalkie and her husband is two amazing hosts that made us feel right at home and the cottage had Aalkie's signiature written all over.

Sadly the water pipe burst in the early hours of the morning and we were woken with us standing in 4cm deep water. Aalkie and her husband made alternative plans for us and we were sorted. They went out of their way to assist us and to have a comfortable, alternative solution.

The unit is extremely clean and well appointed and Alida was a wonderful host! Lovely touches, very thoughtfully done. Best shower we've had in a B&B for ages.

Would have loved an electric blanket as it was quite chilly, however the property managed their energy with solar so may not have been practical. Not a huge problem.

Thank you Alida for a lovely overnights stay in your peaceful cottage. It had everything we needed, and beautifully decorated in cottage style. Your plants in the garden where a special treat, as well as the lovely bird feeder that attracted such lovely birds. Thank you.

Everything that could be imagined was provided, and every effort was made to provide a great experience. The host was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay. There was a really well equipped additional outdoor shower.

The property was squeek clean and had everyrhing we needed for our stay. The hosts were super accommodating and made us feel very welcome.

The property is quite close to the main house but the owners reslected our privacy.

Most welcoming hosts & Alida gave me so much from her garden plants, (which is awesome garden by the way)to take home. Thank you again for having us. Oh yes, we couldn't travel on our original date & without any hassle, Alida changed our booking & didn't mind that we wanted to go a day earlier as well as the weather was so sunny in swellendam.
