We stayed there for one night. Everything was clean and very comfortable, and we parked our car there. The property is located in a nice part of the city, quite close to restaurants and cafes. They upgraded one of our rooms, it was very nice form them

The very disturbing thing was some insect in our room that was making noise, it was a cicada or a grasshopper, and it was VERY ANNOYING, I wouldn't be able to get asleep without earplugs and I couldn't find it in the apartment. But I think that's ok, it happens sometimes

The location is great. It's safe to walk to restaurants, and there are some really good restaurants close by. The gardens and pool are beautiful. Towels are provided for pool use, and there are plenty of sun loungers and shade available. There's a very relaxed atmosphere - guests can help themselves to stuff in the fridge and use the honesty book to settle up later.

There is no air conditioning in the room - there is a ceiling fan, though.

We only stayed here for one night and the accommodation was great, cozy and comfortable. We had a quick swim in the pool, and after that we headed to a restaurant for dinner, for which Walter helped us make a reservation as it was a busy Saturday evening. We appreciated Walter's recommendations for our drive back to Cape Town, as we ended up seeing beautiful scenery thanks to that! :)

I am writing this on Steve's instructions. I booked this for him so the review is coming to my email. Steve says that Walter, the host was so kind and such a help with getting his dinner booked and ensuring he had a comfortable stay. Really appreciated. When Steve called to ask how th TV worked, Wslter was patient and helpful.

Very nice place! The only regret we had was that we just stayed one night. The rooms were clean and well equipped. the garden and the pool are a lovely little paradise. Walter, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. He gave us great advices and tips and booked us a table in a restaurant nearby on our arrival date. We would recommend this place and would love to come back again.

Very nice guesthouse and a friendly helpful staff. Location is convenient with some restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance.

It was warm in Swellendam (January) and an air conditioner in the room would have been nice.

We had a very nice stay in the Marula Lodge. It is a very comfortable and clean accommodation with a beautiful garden, good breakfast and a very friendly host. The location is very central and safe.

They charged my credit card right after booking the accommodation against the prepayment conditions in booking.com. It was difficult to find out who drew money from South Africa, because there was another name (Paybridge S.A.). The rooms are very close to each other so that you have sometimes the feeling of limited privacy.

The host is lovely, he is very funny and has loads of very good tips. The big garden and swimming pool are also great.

The road can be a bit noisy and there was no AC. Normally I think thats fine but it was just extremely warm during our stay.

Walter was very friendly and the room was quite nice!

It was a bit cold during the night. The rooms close to the pool don’t have a lot of privacy (I.e. you can’t open the window without everyone seeing you) We couldn’t use the pool (we travelled end of august)

The room was tidy and had everything I needed and was nice and cool on a very hot day, the pool was a bonus to keep cool and it was very clean and well kept.

Parking is under trees car had bird poo but that is nature and not much can be done, Either than that happy with the hospitality and overall experience at the lodge.
